Connor McDavid showed a different side of himself on Thursday, showing that he can also drop the gloves and scrap, along with being the best player in the world.

The Edmonton Oilers star was throwing haymakers and landed one right in Dallas Stars’ Justin Hryckowian’s face. The fight happened at the end of the second period of the contest.

Both players fell onto the ice and kept going at it, with McDavid doing most of the fighting. McDavid rarely gets into fights, so when he does, he is extremely ticked off.

The broadcaster even pointed out how rare it is to see McDavid drop the gloves, saying, “You don’t see this often!”

McDavid was the first overall pick in 2015 and is easily one of the greatest to ever skate on the ice. The only accolade McDavid is missing is that illustrious Stanley Cup Trophy, which he has fallen just short of in consecutive seasons, losing to the Florida Panthers both times.

The Oilers currently sit third in the Pacific Division and will most likely be heading back to the playoffs to try to achieve their ultimate goal.
