New York Yankees Fans Are Freaking Out Over Recent Slump – Why They Shouldn’t Panic Yet
New York Yankees fans are concerned about the team’s recent skid.
The team has just two wins in its last 12 games.
The only victories have come against the Boston Red Sox and Seattle Mariners.
After last night’s game, Yankees manager Aaron Boone was blunt to reporters, as the team has failed to register a run in the past two contests.

“We’re getting shut down right now,” Boone said after the 4-0 defeat to the Tampa Bay Rays.
“That needs to change. We gotta score. I can sit here and talk to you about it. We need to go do it.”
Many Yankees fans have been frustrated with Boone – as some call for his firing.
“Boone is not a manager who can help his players, a fan tweeted.
“He’s doesn’t have a feel for putting a lineup together. It’s the blind leading the blind right now. He’s not a strategic manager. If you want someone to yell at umps, he’s the guy.”
Another fan said: “Boone is incapable of lighting a fire under this team. He’s just a bad manager period. George [Steinbrenner] would boot his a** into next week.”
And not every Yankees fan has been happy with general manager Brian Cashman these days either.
A frustrated fan wrote in full caps: “BRIAN CASHMAN IS THE MOST OVERRATED GENERAL MANAGER AND THIS IS WHAT HAPPENS WHEN YOU BRING IN AVERAGE HITTERS WHO ARE INCONSISTENT. FIRE THIS MAN. 13 YEARS IS ENOUGH.”
Here are some other top reactions by the fans.
Why it’s not time to panic
While things haven’t gone the Yankee’s way, the team is still sitting comfortably with a 10-game lead over the Rays and Toronto Blue Jays.
Despite the slump, it would take a monumental collapse by the Yankees to blow the division lead.
Not only that but impact starting players Giancarlo Stanton, DJ LeMahieu and Matt Carpenter have been out of the lineup.
As always injuries are tough to predict – but those unfortunates could derail a team.
The good news is that Stanton and LeMahieu could rejoin the lineup soon.
In fact, Boone is optimistic about LeMahieu returning tomorrow – but still left out the possibility of an injured list stint.
Also, Stanton is expected to begin a rehab assignment in the next few days.
While now isn’t the time to panic, Yankees fans have grown tired of years of disappointing seasons in a row.
But it would be a complete failure if the team can’t at least make an appearance in the World Series.
All that should matter is success in the postseason – which the Yankees will almost certainly be in.
