Will Grier will have a fresh start in the NFL and a chance to compete for second-string QB behind Dak Prescott with the Dallas Cowboys.

Grier had been steadily putting in time behind the scenes to fulfill his potential as a quarterback for the Carolina Panthers. He was a huge success story in college, but skeptics were always unsure on whether this would translate in the NFL. The Carolina Panthers picked Grier up in the third round of the 2019 NFL draft, where he was competing with QBs like Kyle Allen (12 starts in 2019) and experienced QB Cam Newton (2 starts in 2019).

However, despite Grier’s determination to overcome some of his previous missteps, it was no surprise that the Panthers and Grier went their separate ways last week. His career for the Panthers had been plagued by many issues — he started and appeared in only two games during his three NFL seasons, throwing four interceptions, zero touchdowns and totaling 228 yards in 53 attempts. The Cowboys will hope he do a lot better for them.
