Jalen Hurts Gives Pennsylvania Family $30,000 For New Home

With his team in the offseason, Jalen Hurts is spending time doing charitable things. Recently, Hurts went to Nottingham to visit a seven-year-old boy named Erick.

The Philadelphia Eagles quarterback not only met with Erick and his family but donated $30,000 to the family of seven to use for a new home. The donation comes from a partnership between Hurts and Alex’s Lemonade Stand Foundation.

The Foundation works to support those battling childhood cancer. It was Hurts who reached out to the foundation in order to get involved. The two worked together and the 22-year-old quarterback connected with Erick and his family. It was through this that the quarterback found out that Erick’s family lived in a trailer, so he decided to give them a special gift.

The quarterback went and visited the family to spend time with the boy. While he was spending time with them, he gave Erick’s mother the big $30,000 check for a new home. In addition, Hurts invited the boy and his family to join the team at either practice or a game in the 2021 season.

Hurts told ESPN after the visit, “I know they’ve experienced a lot of adversity, they’ve had to deal with a lot of different things.” Hurts added, “One thing I like to do is be encouraging at all times, uplift those around me, and I just wanted to make an impact in the city of Philadelphia, in this area.”
