50 Most-Infamous Athlete Mugshots: WWE Star Brock Lesnar Arrested On Suspicion Of Steroid Possession In ’01

In January 2001, former UFC and WWE star Brock Lesnar was arrested on suspicion of possessing illegal steroids.

It was believed that Lesnar had anabolic steroids, but lab tests showed that the substances were vitamin supplements. After the lab tests, Lesnar’s charge was dropped.

Lesnar was a standout wrestler at the University of Minnesota, where he won the NCAA Division I heavyweight wrestling championship in 2000. After college, Lesnar trained to become a professional wrestler and made his WWE debut in 2002.

In 2004, he left the WWE to pursue a career in the NFL. Lesnar joined the Minnesota Vikings training camp and played the preseason with the team, but he was cut before the regular season.

After getting cut by the Vikings, Lesnar wrestled for New Japan Pro-Wrestling for two years.

Lesnar made his MMA debut in 2007, defeating Min Soo Kim in the first round. He signed with the UFC in 2008, and after losing his first fight against Frank Mir, he became the UFC Heavyweight Champion in his third fight, defeating Randy Couture.

He retired from the UFC in 2011 due to health issues, but he returned for one more fight in 2016 against Mark Hunt.

Lesnar returned to the WWE in 2012. In his WWE career, Lesnar has won the WWE Championship seven times and the WWE Universal Championship three times.

Lesnar is still signed with the WWE, but he’s been off programming since the summer of 2023 due to legal issues.
