The New York Yankees will host the Seattle Mariners on Tuesday night for the opener of a three-game series, and here is what you need to know.
The Yankees (47-22), who have had several of their games delayed/postponed, lead the AL East and are coming off a 4-2 victory over the Washington Nationals. The Mariners (46-26) are second in the AL West and lost two of their four games against the Boston Red Sox, (49-24) including a 9-3 loss on Sunday.

Right-hander Domingo German (1-4, 5.23 ERA) is set to start for the Yankees. German boasts 63 strikeouts this season and is averaging a 1.26 WHIP. He will face off against Mariners left-hander Marco Gonzales (7-3, 3.42 ERA), who has struck out 69 batters this season.
