The New York Yankees and Boston Red Sox have agreed to a four-player swap.
The rare trade saw outfielder Alex Verdugo head to the Yankees while the Red Sox got three right-handed pitchers in Greg Weissert, Richard Fitts and Nicholas Judice.
Trades between the rival teams are very uncommon. Including this trade, there have only been six trades since 1990.
Last season, Verdugo had a batting average of .264, with 13 home runs and 54 RBI. He spent a total of four years with the Red Sox.
