Yankees Pursuing Royals’ Mike Moustakas

According to MLB.com, the Yankees are not only targeting 29-year-old Moustakas via trade, they are also hoping to use him as a first baseman.

The Yankees are reportedly most interested in bringing on a starting pitcher this offseason. Rookie second baseman Gleyber Torres was recently sidelined with an injury, thus Neil Walker could likely replace him at that position. The Bombers are also looking to keep their payroll under $197 million.

Moustakas recently started suffering from back spasms. He boasts 16 home runs and 53 RBIs this season, along with a .472 slugging percentage.
