WWE Survivor Series 2016 Recap: Bill Goldberg Destroys Brock Lesnar, Shane McMahon Injured

Bill Goldberg took down Brock Lesnar in a matter of seconds at WWE’s Survivor Series on Saturday, and the entire wrestling world is either still reeling or coming to its senses.

Shane McMahon also appeared to have been injured during the Team Raw vs. Team SmackDown Live match. McMahon went for a coast-to-coast dropkick on Roman Reigns off the top rope, but Reigns caught him with a spear. After it became clear that McMahon was severely hurt, the referee immediately signaled for doctors to come out, and ring announcer JoJo announced that McMahon had been eliminated even though he was not pinned. Off camera, McMahon was helped to the back and held up his fist to signal to the crowd that he would be ok.

Some reports have begun circulating rumors of a rematch between Goldberg and Lesnar, though WWE might be better served saving Goldberg’s first loss for Reigns.

There are also reports that Goldberg will be participating in the Royal Rumble match, and is considered by many to be the favorite to win the event.

Reigns, meanwhile, has already vowed to pursue Kevin Owens’ Universal Championship. If Reigns and Goldberg both win their respective fights, that would set the stage for a WrestleMania main event pitting the two against each other.

In the Women’s Survivor Series this weekend, Team Raw  (Charlotte, Bayley, Sasha Banks, Nia Jax & Alicia Fox) defeated Team Smackdown Live (Becky Lynch, Natalya, Carmella, Naomi & Alexa Bliss).

In the Intercontinental Championship, The Miz defeated Sami Zayn.

In the Tag Team Series, Team Raw (Cesaro, Sheamus, Enzo Amore, Big Cass, Luke Gallows, Karl Anderson & The New Day) defeated Team Smackdown Live  (Heath Slater, Rhyno, The Usos, American Alpha, The Hype Bros, & Breezango).
