Wizards Announce Superstar Bradley Beal To Miss Next Two Games

Washington Wizards star Bradley Beal will sit out the team’s next two games, the team announced.

Beal suffered a left hamstring in Washington’s game against the Indiana Pacers last Saturday.

“Bradley Beal has been diagnosed with a left hamstring strain following MRI testing conducted yesterday,” the team announced on Twitter. “He will miss the team’s next two games before being re-evaluated on Friday.”

Washington will reevaluate Beal on Friday before their home game against the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Wizards will conclude its regular season two days after their Cleveland game with a home game against the Charlotte Hornets.

This is bad news for Washington who is hoping to make the playoffs. The Wizards are currently ninth in the Eastern Conference and are trailing the Hornets by one game for the eighth seed. For Washington to make the playoffs, they must win two games to have a chance to get the last spot. Losing Beal hurts their chance of making the playoffs. Washington will have to rely on their other superstar Russell Westbrook, who is averaging 26.2 points, 16.4 assists and 15.8 rebounds per game in May.

For Beal, missing two games will hurt his chances of winning the scoring title this season. The Wizards star is currently averaging 31.4 points per game. He is currently in a neck-and-neck competition with Stephen Curry, who is averaging 31.9 points per game. With Beal sidelined, Curry now has the edge for the scoring title race.
