WATCH: Donovan Mitchell Becomes Fourth Player To Score 50 Twice In A Series

In a record-making performance on Sunday night, Jazz star Donavan Mitchell scored 51 points to lead his team to a 129-127 game four win against the Denver Nuggets. With this performance, Mitchell joined an elite group of players to score 50 multiple times in the same playoff series. Mitchell dropped 57 in game one – the only other players to do it are Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan and Allen Iverson. “I love hearing negative things about me,” Mitchell said. “The knock on me has been inefficient, not a team player. I pride myself on being a team player…. People are going to say what they say. You can’t please everybody. For me, it’s how can I help my team win? Tonight it was scoring 50. Some nights it’s not.”

Ironically, another player dropped 50 in game four, but his team lost so nobody seems to care. Nuggets guard Jamal Murray looks like the next coming of Reggie Miller one day, and the next coming of Reggie Jackson the other. Thankfully for the Nuggets, they’ve gotten more Miller than Jackson, but the team’s defensive struggles have been crippling seen in the evidence that they have given up 50 to the same player twice. While the Jazz now have a commanding 3-1 series lead, Murray and the Nuggets don’t feel like they are done yet. “There’s a lot of fight in us left,” he said. “One game at a time.”
