Warriors’ Steph Curry Continues Impressive Streak

Steph Curry continues to amaze everyone.

Warriors’ Steph Curry Continues Impressive Streak

On Saturday night, against the Oklahoma City Thunder, Golden State Warriors backcourt star Curry scored 46 points on 14 of 24 shooting, including 12 of 16 beyond the three-point line. The Warriors defeated the Thunder 121-118 in overtime. Golden State recovered from a 12-point fourth quarter deficit against one of the best teams in the league, and Curry broke his own record for most 3-point shots made in a single season. The Warriors tied the game in regulation with a steal and a pair of free throws from Andre Iguodala, and Curry finished it in overtime with a far 3-pointer.

Curry’s current streak is clearly unprecedented and jaw-dropping. The Warriors star point guard is considered by some to be the greatest shooter in the history of the NBA, reaching the level of former players like Wilt Chamberlain, Michael Jordan and Magic Johnson.

Curry often seems to take shots that shouldn’t be taken and that would probably induce a scold from a coach, and yet makes them so easily that missing any shot now appears strange for someone like him.

The defending champion Warriors currently hold a record of 53-5, and are making a strong case as one of the greatest NBA teams of all time. Curry is improving his MVP season, leading the league in scoring.

Earlier this season the Wall Street Journal’s Ben Cohen wrote about ‘Currymania,’ and how it’s now causing both the Warriors and rival arenas to open their doors early, just to watch him practice.

Curry and the Warriors are undoubtedly a must-see this season: they are simply unstoppable, at the very top of their game.

Following Saturday’s game against the Thunder, Twitter immediately blew up with comments from top stars: LeBron James stated that he’d “never before seen someone like [Curry] in the history of basketball.” Magic Johnson said that Curry “has a chance to be the greatest player we’ve ever seen, if he plays at this level for the next 4-5 [years].”

Other former NBA legends have also weighed in, howling that the Warriors and Curry have benefited from a recent league push to discourage physical play, and would have simply been pushed around in another time.
