Warren Sapp, NFL Hall of Famer And TV Analyst, Reportedly Arrested For Soliciting A Prostitute

NFL Network analyst and former pro football star Warren Sapp was arrested this morning in Phoenix for soliciting a prostitute, according to a TMZ report.

Sapp was also arrested for assault and is currently in Phoenix police custody. Sapp was in Phoenix covering last night’s Super Bowl for NFL Network, where he’s been a mainstay on the network’s ‘Gameday’ shows. NFL Network has already suspended Sapp indefinitely and have removed his bio from their website.

If true, this wouldn’t be the first sports television analyst and former athlete being caught for prostitution soliciting in the past month. CBS college basketball analyst Greg Anthony was arrested in a prostitution sting in Washington, D.C. in January. He has since been suspended by the network and will not call any more games this season, including March Madness.

The puzzling detail remains why Sapp would be soliciting a prostitute at 7 a.m, especially as a high-profile figure in the midst of an event where authorities are cracking down on prostitution. At this time details are still coming in, and we’ll know more as the story unfolds.
