U.S. Olympic track and field star Tara Davis-Woodhall credited her past setbacks for fueling her journey to success in Paris, expressing a belief that her previous second-place finishes were important in her growth and drive.

“It’s definitely instilled some confidence in me,” Davis-Woodhall said. “I do believe that second place was meant to be and allowed me to have some fuel to my fire, which allowed me to win gold at the World Indoors. And now hopefully for Olympic gold.”
