Three-time Olympic medalist Hilary Knight will be heading back on the ice to compete for Team USA in the 2022 Beijing Olympics.
As she prepares to compete on the international stage, she wants to do her best to help inspire the next generation.
“It’s heartfelt to understand and realize that you are a small piece of inspiring the next generation, inspiring someone to lace up the skates and go out there,” she said.
Knight wants to show little girls watching from home that it is possible to make their dream into a reality.
“Yes, it is about competing and showing up and having fun with one another, but also being a part of something bigger than ourselves and doing it for a larger group,” she said. “[Showing her] that if she can see it she can be it.”
“It’s a true honor and a wonderful responsibility that we don’t take lightly,” she continued.
