VIDEO: Ex-Spanish Soccer Chief Luis Rubiales Says Jenni Hermoso ‘Consented’ To Infamous World Cup Kiss

Former Spanish football chief Luis Rubiales testified at his trial on Tuesday, where he said Jenni Hermoso “consented” to the kiss he gave her after the 2023 World Cup final. The infamous kiss, moments after Spain’s victory, sparked protests and demands for Rubiales’s resignation. He denies any wrongdoing. When asked about the kiss, Rubiales said he asked Hermoso, “Can I give you a kiss?” to which she replied, he said, “OK.” During that trial session, a lip reader was called, who testified that Rubiales could be seen asking the question, but he could not confirm whether Hermoso consented or not. In court, Hermoso said that she had “never consented” and felt “disrespected.” (Credit: Audiencia Nacional via Storyful)
