The Oklahoma City Thunder have reportedly agreed on a four-year, $84 million extension with guard Victor Oladipo, NBA sources told Yahoo Sports’ The Vertical.
Oladipo, 24, and the Thunder made progress toward an agreement over the past week before finalizing it Monday, sources stated. The team also said it is making progress on a four-year, $100 million deal with Steven Adams.
Oladipo has established himself as part of Oklahoma City’s core alongside Russell Westbrook and Adams. In three games this season, the young guard is averaging 17 points, 3.7 rebounds and 2.3 assists.

Westbrook, meanwhile, recently signed an extension with the Thunder, who lost Kevin Durant to the Golden State Warriors this summer. The Thunder were poised to become potential players in free agency next summer, chasing players like homegrown star Blake Griffin, but with salary cap holds expected to jump in the new system, reaching max level cap space while still retaining Adams and Oladipo became an unlikely scenario.
As many as 20 teams could get to max level cap space next summer, so anything less than that for either potentially saves the Thunder a lot of money. Oladipo’s $84 million contract comes in around $21 million below a max deal, and Adams’ reported deal is $4 million under the max number.
Oklahoma City acquired Oladipo from Orlando in the draft-night trade that sent Serge Ibaka to the Magic in June. The youngster has averaged 15.9 points, 4.3 rebounds and four assists per game in his four-year career.
Oladipo was the No. 2 overall pick in the 2013 NBA draft after three standout seasons at Indiana.
Adams, 23, emerged as a key part of the Thunder’s foundation last postseason, averaging a double-double in the series against the Spurs and Warriors. In three seasons, Adams is averaging 6.3 points and 6.0 rebounds per game.
