Tyler Herro Returns To His Hometown Of Milwaukee, Can He Help Lead Bucks Into A New Era?

After being traded to the Milwaukee Bucks from the Miami Heat as part of a blockbuster deal, Tyler Herro is back in his hometown of Milwaukee. The trade officially ends Herro’s seven-year run in Miami. After starring at the University of Kentucky, he now returns to his home state.

Herro was originally committed to the University of Wisconsin but chose to play college basketball at Kentucky. Wisconsin fans disliked him for that decision, but now this move represents a fresh start and a chance for Herro to become one of the faces of Milwaukee’s next era.

The 26-year-old guard was selected by Miami with the 13th overall pick in 2019 and quickly became one of the franchise’s most popular players. Throughout his career with the Heat, Herro developed into an All-Star, Sixth Man of the Year winner and one of the league’s most dangerous scorers.

Many Heat fans remember his clutch playoff performances and fearless shooting. Herro joins the Bucks organization, entering a new chapter following the departure of the greatest player in franchise history.

It’s a full-circle moment for Herro, who grew up as a Bucks fan and played at Whitnall High School. Many Bucks fans have long hoped to see a hometown product star for Milwaukee, and now that opportunity is reality.

Last season, Herro continued to establish himself as one of the NBA’s best offensive guards, earning All-Star recognition and showing his ability to carry an offense for extended stretches.
