Quarterback Tua Tagovailoa, who is recovering from a hip injury, posted a video to social media on Monday that shows him throwing during drills.
The brief video only shows one pass by Tagovailoa, but more importantly, it showcases a prospect with enough confidence to move around and, well, do what quarterbacks are supposed to do. That alone is worth a lot, considering the concerns surrounding the former Heisman runner-up’s medical status. After leaving a game against Mississippi State with a significant injury during the college football season, Tagovailoa underwent surgery to repair a dislocated hip in November. Since then, the former Alabama quarterback has been in recovery mode.
Former NFL quarterback Dan Orlovsky said he was “shocked at how good” Tagovailoa looks already.

“I didn’t expect this kind video of @Tuaamann in March let alone him to look this normal and healthy. Very happy for him-teams questions are being answered 1 by 1,” the ESPN analyst tweeted.

Tagovailoa was medically cleared for all football activity after a four-month scan came back all clear and assuming he has no setbacks and he continues working his way back to full strength. Tagovailoa is still looked at as on of the top three quarterbacks in the draft including Joe Burrows and Jordan Love. Tagovailoa is likely to go to the Miami Dolphins at the fifth pick in the 2020 NFL draft. Despite dealing with a variety of injuries during his incredible run with the Crimson Tide, in which he won a national championship and was a Heisman runner-up.
