Top NBA DFS Plays: Wednesday, February 3

Check out the top NBA DFS plays at each of the main five positions on DraftKings.

Point Guard

Ish Smith, Washington Wizards (DK: $4,800) @ MIA

Smith returned to the Wizards’ lineup two games ago and how provided some much relief in Washington’s backcourt. Smith will see heavy minutes tonight with Raul Neto out with an injury, and Russell Westbrook a likely rest candidate on the second leg of back-to-back outings. In the two games since Smith returned from the COVID-19  health and safety protocols, the veteran has averaged 8.0 points, 8.0 assists, 3.5 rebounds, 2.0 steals, and 0.5 blocks per game. He has been able to produce these numbers in just over 25 minutes of action. Smith can easily exceed value if he sees solid minutes, which seems likely considering the Wizards’ current state of affairs at the point guard position.

Other Options: Luka Doncic, Chris Paul, Kemba Walker

Shooting Guard

Bradley Beal, Washington Wizards (DK: $9,700) @ MIA

I don’t usually recommend pairing backcourt players on the same team on the same night, but if you are playing in a tournament, rostering Smith and Beal seems like a very nice contrarian strategy. Beal has gone absolute mental this season, and has seen his best numbers when Westbrook has been sidelined. Beal leads the league with 35.0 points per game, and his 37.5% usage rate is also the best mark in the NBA. Beal’s 1.51 DraftKings points per minute over the past months ranks fifth on Wednesday’s slate. The Heat will have their hands full trying contain Beal. Miami ranks 21st in defensive efficiency, so look for Beal to provide another huge outing.

Other Options: Victor Oladipo, Devonte’ Graham, Garrison Mathews

Small Forward

Jaylen Brown, Boston Celtics (DK: $7,900) @ SAC

Brown gets a favorable matchup against the face-paced Kings and has seen has salary drop in recent days, despite producing 39 DK points in last night’s victory over the Warriors. He managed to do that in just 32 minutes of action, plus he was dealing with foul trouble throughout the game. With Marcus Smart out of the lineup, Brown facilitated a bigger role on offense, specifically in the playmaking and rebounding categories. Although he snapped a 10-game streak of converting multiple three-point attempts, expect Brown to begin a new streak tonight on the road. Sacramento ranks dead-last in the NBA in defensive efficiency, and Boston’s implied team total of 114.5 is tied for the fourth-highest mark on the slate.

Other Options: Jayson Tatum, R.J. Barrett, Eric Gordon

Power Forward

Domantis Sabonis, Indiana Pacers (DK: $8,300) @ MIL

Although the Pacers are eight-point underdogs against the Bucks, expect Sabonis and Indiana to keep this game close in the Eastern Conference matchup. Milwaukee has not been as dominant as they were a year ago, but they do play with the seventh-fastest pace in the NBA. That should mean a high-scoring affair. Just two weeks ago, Sabonis saw his price tag reach over $10,000. Now with it shrinking significantly, tonight will be an excellent opportunity to get the big man in your lineup. In last night’s 18-point loss to the Grizzlies, Sabonis produced a ridiculous 60.8 DraftKings points. He scored 32 points, hauled in 13 boards, dished out five dimes, and produced two steals. As long as this matchup remains close, Sabonis is in for a very productive evening.

Other Options: Giannis Antetokounmpo, Kristaps Porzingis, Darrius Bazley

Center

Drew Eubanks, San Antonio Spurs (DK: $3,000) vs. MIN

Eubanks is the minimum price for a player on DraftKings and should see upwards of 20 to 25 minutes when the Spurs host the Timberwolves tonight. With LaMarcus Aldridge sidelined due to injury, Jakob Poelti is expected to draw the start. Eubanks has averaged 0.94 DraftKings points per minute over the past month and the Wolves provide an excellent matchup at the center position. Expect Eubanks to drive a significant amount of return on investment, so long as he gets the minutes he deserves.

Other Options: Joel Embiid, Christian Wood, John Collins
