The New England Patriots and their fans held their breath yesterday after a scary play involving quarterback Tom Brady.
During the second quarter with the Patriots down by a field goal against the Miami Dolphins, Brady went to throw a pass to a receiver which resulted in an incomplete pass on third down. The aftermath of the play resulted in Dolphins defensive lineman Ndamukong Suh getting awfully close to Brady in the lower body and bringing him down. Suh’s weight crushed Brady’s ankle and resulted in Brady limping off the field after the play.
What resulted in the play was a right ankle injury that was heavily taped up by team trainers. Brady would return to the field on the next drive and play all the way until the fourth quarter when the Dolphins were up 20-10 and would eventually win the game and having the Patriots garner a 12-4 regular season record.

Brady had a MRI on Monday morning and a sprained right ankle was officially announced as the injury he had suffered. The MRI did not show any breaks or fractures and that Brady felt “pretty sore” after the game yesterday. The Patriots thankfully have a first-round bye in the playoffs, giving Brady two weeks to heal and to be ready for their divisional-round game that they will be hosting after finding out results of this weekend’s wild-card games.
