Tom Brady’s agent Don Yee has shut down rumors that the veteran quarterback may not return to the NFL this year.
Yee said on Monday that Brady, who will be 41 in August, will come back to play for the New England Patriots in the fall.
“Tom’s intentions have not changed,” Yee told ESPN’s Adam Schefter. “He’s consistently said he’ll play beyond this contract and into his mid-40s, or until he feels he isn’t playing at a championship level. I understand the constant speculation, but this is one point he’s been firm about.”

Brady had said after the Patriots won Super Bowl LI last year that he hoped to play well into his 40s, as Yee said, something that very few NFL quarterbacks have done. Peyton Manning retired weeks before his 40th birthday after leading the Denver Broncos to a national championship victory over the Carolina Panthers following the 2015 season.
Brady, a five-time Super Bowl champion and three-time NFL MVP, currently has two more years left on his contract with the Patriots, and is expected to receive $14 million per season, according to NBCSports.com. Yee also discussed how the QB feels about this deal, and what his goals are at this point in his career.
“His objective every year is to outperform his contract and his own goals,” Yee told ESPN. “And like every player, yes, he thinks about his contract — it’s a pretty natural thing to do. Every team’s management knows this.”
