The first episode of Tom Brady’s Facebook documentary series “Tom vs. Time” premiered on Thursday, and fans got a sneak peek at the New England Patriots quarterback’s strict health routine.
It’s already known that 40-year-old Brady and his wife Gisele Bundchen follow a rigorous diet, but this series revealed aspects of the veteran player’s physical training as well.
“There’s a warrior toughness about me,” Brady said at the start of the first episode, “The Physical Game.”
Bundchen shared a preview of the episode on her Instagram page:

Brady’s controversial health guru and business partner on his TB12 health brand, Alex Guerrero, is also featured in the documentary. Guerrero was once called a “snake oil salesman” by Boston Magazine after he reportedly made a series of false medical claims.
“We’re so close,” Brady said of Guerrero. “He’s so much more than someone who just works on me physically…There’s no way I would be here today without [him].”
Brady explained that before Guerrero, his trainers would usually ice his arm and advise him to sit out of practice whenever he got injured. However, following a string of injuries in 2004 and 2005, Brady met Guerrero and claims he began feeling healthier. The trainer had previously worked with Patriots pass rusher Willie McGinest.
Brady then explained that Guerrero focuses primarily on pliability, which the QB views as “the lengthening and softening of muscles to get them back into balance.”
The Patriots star also boasted about he can still throw perfectly compared to other quarterbacks who have struggled with passing as they get older.
“I can fire that motherf—,” he says.
Brady is also shown playing with his two young children, Benjamin and Vivian Lake, in the documentary.
Finally, we also see Bundchen issue some words of comfort to her husband after he says the Pats played “s—y” in their 2017 season opener against the Kansas City Chiefs.
“You were not s—y,” says Gisele. “You were just not in sync yet. You don’t know each other. It’s like building a relationship. The first time you meet someone you’re not going to be their best friend.”
“It takes time to get to know people,” she continued. “It’s going to be awesome. I know it, Ok?”
The Patriots are back in the Super Bowl (to face the Eagles in a Super Bowl XXIX rematch) for the eighth time since 2001. Brady has been with the team since 2000.
This season, Guerrero was reportedly banned from the Patriots’ sidelined and plane by head coach Bill Belichick. Brady and Belichick have avoided talking about him for the most part.
In 2015, The Boston Globe reported that Patriots medical and training staff had complained to Belichick about Guerrero’s role, citing concerns over alternative treatments that often conflicted with their own methods. Guerrero’s medical background was also reportedly questioned.
