Tom Brady was the only former Super Bowl MVP to get booed on Sunday during the pre-game ceremony for Super Bowl 50 in Santa Clara, Calif.

The New England Patriots QB and three-time Super Bowl MVP didn’t seem to mind though, as he gave the crowd a thumbs-up as he made his way to the grandstand to join the other MVPs who were being honored.

The boos were likely due to the large number of Denver Broncos fans attending the big game. Brady and his family did not stay at Levi’s Stadium  for long.

During an interview with Jim Gray on Westwood One Radio before the pre-game ceremony, Brady discussed what it felt like to be a three-time Super Bowl MVP, and what it meant to be standing next to other fellow MVPS, “It’s hard to really put into words,” said Brady, who was named the MVP of Super Bowl XXXVI, XXXVIII and XLIX. “I think more so it is a feeling that you get. It’s pretty tough to describe because I think for me I think about where I started and growing up 26 miles away from here in San Mateo and just realizing the journey of what it all means to get to this point.”

“It’s really a celebration of the great teams that I have been apart of and for me I am really proud to represent all those teams that won these great championships. They are hard to win. Any number of guys could have won this award, any number of years that we’ve won it. I stand up here representing all those other guys too,” he said.

Brady and former San Francisco 49ers QB Joe Montana, Brady’s idol as a young boy, are the only two NFL players to ever win three Super Bowl MVPs in their career.
