Tiger Woods Hospitalized After Single-Vehicle Car Crash In Los Angeles

According to the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department, golf legend Tiger Woods was hospitalized after he was in a single-vehicle car crash early on Tuesday morning near Rolling East Estates and the Ranchos Palos Verdes neighborhoods of California.

Woods had to be extricated from the vehicle with the Jaws of Life tools, the LA County Sherriff’s Department said in their statement.

The crash took place at about 7:12 a.m. and Woods was the driver and only occupant in the vehicle, according to the sheriff’s office.

Woods was taken to Harbor-UCLA Medical center which was less than 10 miles away from the crash site to treat his injuries.

Mark Steinberg, Woods’ agent, released a statement to Golf Digest’s Daniel Rapoport, which said that Woods suffered multiple leg injuries in this accident. “Tiger Woods was in a single-car accident this morning in California where he suffered multiple leg injuries.”

“He is currently in surgery and we thank you for your privacy and support,” the statement said.

Woods spent the long weekend in Southern California where he was hosting at the 2021 Genesis Invitational. On Monday, he was seen playing golf with David Spade. He was also seen on social media on Monday on a golf course with former Miami Heat basketball star Dwayne Wade.

This week, Tiger also announced that he underwent his fifth back surgery on December 23, 2020, which could keep him out of the upcoming Masters tournament in Augusta, Georgia.

A resident of Jupiter Florida, Woods has won 82 titles on the PGA, which is tied with Sam Snead for the most titles ever. He has also won 15 major championships, including five victories at the Masters.
