It might have not been the greatest season for the Houston Texans. They are currently in a losing season. For players, it is very discouraging because no amount of effort could change that fact. In addition, this losing season has no rewards like a first-round pick because Houston traded theirs away to the Miami Dolphins. Sunday will be the season finale and after that, the season will be over.
Texans’ defensive end J.J. Watt knows that feeling. So Watt made a fiery passionate speech during the presser following Sunday’s loss to the Cincinnati Bengals. Watt went off and said that their NFL jobs are a “privilege” and “it’s the greatest job in the world.” The defensive end continued to blast the lack of effort some players may have had during the season. “If you can’t care enough, even in Week 17, even when you’re trash, when you’re 4-11,” he said. “If you can’t care enough to go out there and give everything you got and try your hardest, that’s bulls—.”
The defensive end continued by connecting the passionate fans as a reason to try in every game regardless of how the season is going. “There are a lot of people that watch us and invest their time and their money into buying our jerseys and into buying a whole bunch of s— and they care about it, they care every single week,” he said. “There are people every week that still appreciate you, that still come up to you and say, we’re still rooting for you, we’re still behind you.”
