Tennessee Titans Trade All-Pro Safety Kevin Byard To The Eagles

The Philadelphia Eagles have boosted its secondary line by acquiring safety Kevin Byard from the Tennessee Titans in a trade. In exchange for Byard, the Titans will receive fifth and sixth-round draft picks in 2024, as well as safety Terrell Edmunds

Byard has both All-Pro and Pro Bowl pedigree and looks to help the team in its defense during the second half of the second. Now playing for his hometown team, Byard lived in Philadelphia during his childhood and some of his teenage years.

Byard has become a mainstay in the Tennessee Titans’ defense. During his time there, he has had 27 interceptions, 63 pass deflections and 674 tackles in 120 career NFL games.

Byard’s trade comes after the Eagles seek to deal with injuries in the safety position, as Reed Blankenship and Justin Evans are currently out.

Byard is one of a few Titans who have been released by first-year manager Ran Carthon, who released a couple of veterans in the offseason. At 2-4, The Tennessee Titans currently sit in last place in the AFC South.
