Tennessee Titans Stun Baltimore Ravens 28-12, Guarantee Spot In AFC Championship Game

NFL fans and those around the league were stunned by yesterday’s AFC Divisional Playoff game between the Baltimore Ravens (14-3) and the Tennessee Titans (11-7). The Titans knocked out the number one seed 28-12 in front of a Baltimore home crowd, ending the Ravens season.

After some early mistakes, the Ravens seemed to only continue the disappointing trend. Not used to being down, they looked tight and couldn’t find a rhythm that seemed to carry them through most of the season.

The Ravens saw points on the board late in the first half and whatever momentum they had died in the third quarter after a failed conversion turned into a Tennessee touchdown.

Ravens quarterback Lamar Jackson, who was dominant in both the run and pass game this season, couldn’t find that composure that’s carried him through thus far. Jackson was 31 of 59 with one touchdown and two interceptions. On 20 carries, Jackson accumulated 143 yards, while Mark Ingram II, returning from injury, only had six carries for 22 yards.

The Titans, who won the Wild Card game against the New England Patriots 20-13, have continued an impressive playoff run.

Quarterback Ryan Tannehill was 7 of 15 with two touchdowns, one of which connected with tight end Jonnu Smith on an impressive throw and catch. But Titans weapon Derrick Henry once again ran through the defense with 30 carries for 195 yards. Henry has proved to be a powerhouse and even showed off his passing ability when he connected with wide receiver Corey Davis on a short throw for a touchdown.

A historic and dominant season for the Ravens ends in a disappointing home loss. Drops, penalties and turnovers were the Ravens kryptonite against a Titans team who came ready to play.
