Takeaways From Dallas Cowboys Loss To Ravens

Tuesday night was another tough night for the Dallas Cowboys. Dallas was handed their ninth loss of the season and sixth loss in just seven games. Their playoff hopes are now slim because of their recent loss to the Baltimore Ravens.

The Dallas defense was exploited by the Ravens, who ran an effective running offense instead of a passing one. Baltimore finished the game with 294 rushing yards with players like quarterback Lamar Jackson, running backs Gus Edwards and J.K. Dobbins having good nights rushing. Jackson rushed for 94 yards, Edwards for 101 yards, and Dobbins for 71 yards. Dallas has allowed a league-worst 167.8 rushing yards so far.

Despite the terrible night for Dallas, their young wide receiver Michael Gallup put on a fantastic performance. Gallup was able to match a season-high of seven receptions with one touchdown and 86 yards. Gallup now has two touchdowns this season. Dallas quarterback Andy Dalton knew he was having a good game as he was targeting the wide receiver 11 times.

After the game Gallup told the media, “You can have a good game, lose and it doesn’t even feel like you had a good game, period. It’s not fun at all for us.”

The good news for Dallas is that they still have a shot to make the playoffs despite having a losing record. The NFC East division is currently home to teams with losing records. The Cowboy’s final four games in their schedule will be against teams with losing records. Dallas has a chance to finish the season with seven games if they were to win all four games. They have a shot to win the division and make it to the playoffs, but they must not lose to the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday.
