After much speculation and rumors, the Minnesota Vikings have finally reached an agreement with free agent quarterback Kyler Murray.

Murray was the number one overall pick in 2019 and is a former Heisman trophy winner. The former Oklahoma Sooner had an up-and-down career with the Arizona Cardinals. Murray had a 38-48-1 record with the Cardinals, and that includes 13 game-winning drives as the starter.

The new Vikings quarterback battled injuries in 2025, only playing in five games. In those five games, Murray completed 110 of 161 passes for 962 passing yards, along with six touchdowns and three interceptions; he also led the Cardinals in rushing yards through five weeks.

Murray holds the Cardinals’ career passer rating record at 92.2, as well as the completion percentage record at 67.1% for players who have attempted at least 232 passes. That mark also ranks fifth all-time in NFL history.

Murray, 29, will join a young quarterback room that includes first-round pick J.J. McCarthy and second-year quarterback Max Brosmer.

It seems the Vikings are already moving on from McCarthy as the starter after just one season, with him expected to back up Murray next season.

Quarterback Daniel Jones has had to field multiple questions about negative Giants fans last week. He claimed to be blocking out the noise.

“I feel like I’ve been doubted plenty for a long time and dealt with that time and time again. And done a good job with it,” Jones said, according to ESPN. “I think my mental toughness is in a good spot. I’m not concerned about that.”

On Thursday, he addressed the noise again.

“Fans, you know they’re upset and frustrated and we’re frustrated too,” Jones said. “So I understand that. I’m not easily offended. I understand how it works and know I’ve gotta play better. We’ve all gotta play better.”

Regardless of what Jones says about the current state of the Giants and their fanbase, it’s undeniable that the quarterback is facing a great deal of pressure.

Returning from an injury-riddled 2023 season, Jones returned last weekend and delivered a highly disappointing performance. Facing off against a depleted Minnesota Vikings team, Jones completed 22 of 42 passes for 186 yards without a score. New York lost 28-6.

As if losing to oft-maligned former Jets quarterback Sam Darnold in MetLife Stadium wasn’t bad enough, Jones’ dud came on the same weekend as running back Saquon Barkley’s resurgent three-touchdown debut for the Eagles. Last year, the Giants’ front office gave Jones a four-year, $160 million contract and later elected to let Barkley walk.

Though the Giants made the playoffs in 2022 and even won a playoff game against the Vikings, Jones has never had more than a few moments which he has proven capable as a franchise quarterback in the NFL. It’s easy to forget that this will be his sixth season. Nevertheless, the Giants have bought in, and must now try to build a roster around Jones.

Taking wide receiver Malik Nabers in the first round of the 2024 draft was a clear step in this process. The Giants are not without young talent. But with Jones at the helm and struggling, the road ahead seems long and could very well prove to be another dead end for the franchise.

The Minnesota Vikings and star wide receiver Justin Jefferson have agreed to a landmark four-year, $140 million contract extension, with $110 million guaranteed. This deal makes Jefferson the highest-paid non-quarterback in NFL history.

The contract, which WME Football brokered, includes $88.743 million due at signing. The Vikings announced that Jefferson’s extension will keep him with the team through the 2028 season, although they did not disclose financial details.

“The time has finally come. The deal I’ve been waiting for since I was a little kid,” Jefferson said in an Instagram video. “Being doubted my whole career. Not being highly recruited. Not being the first receiver off the draft board. This whole journey wasn’t easy for me. … To be given a gift to play football at the highest level is a blessing. It’s an honor.”

Jefferson’s $110 million guaranteed money sets a new benchmark for comprehensive receiver contracts, surpassing other top earners like A.J. Brown and Amon-Ra St. Brown.

Vikings owners Mark and Zygi Wilf expressed their enthusiasm about the deal. “Justin has earned this contract, and we are thrilled he will remain a Minnesota Viking for a very long time, they said in a statement. General manager Kwesi Adofo-Mensah praised Jefferson’s impact on and off the field. “He is the living embodiment of our culture with his joyful dedication to process and our goals. We couldn’t be more excited for Justin and his family.”

The agreement comes after Jefferson declined a previous contract offer from the Vikings that would have paid him over $28 million annually. By betting on himself, Jefferson secured a deal with an average annual value of $35 million, surpassing the previous non-quarterback record held by San Francisco 49ers’ Nick Bosa.

Since being drafted 22nd overall by the Vikings in 2020, Jefferson has amassed 392 receptions for 5,899 yards and 30 touchdowns. His 98.3 receiving yards per game is the highest average in NFL history for any career span, and he holds the record for the most receiving yards in the first three seasons of a career with 4,825.

“Justin is an exceptionally talented player and an incredible person that I am honored to coach and have as a team captain, Vikings coach Kevin O’Connell told ESPN. “His positive energy and love for the game shows up daily as he works to be the best at his craft.”

The Vikings are ready for a new era of offensive prowess, having replaced quarterback Kirk Cousins with free agent Sam Darnold and first-round draft pick J.J. McCarthy this offseason. Despite missing games due to injury last season, Jefferson’s exceptional performance solidifies his role as a cornerstone of the Vikings’ future.

Jefferson was the fifth receiver selected in the 2020 draft. It quickly proved his versatility and talent, making him an invaluable asset to the Vikings and setting the stage for continued success in the years to come.

Devastating news coming out of Dallas on Monday after Jeff Gladney, cornerback for the Arizona Cardinals was involved in a fatal car crash that took two lives including Gladney’s. According to the Dallas County Sheriff’s Department, the vehicle containing Gladney and his girlfriend was speeding and clipped another car causing Glandey’s vehicle to lose control and hit a freeway pier beam, killing both individuals inside.

No one in the second vehicle was injured, however. Gladney was a standout prospect leading up to his time in the NFL. A three-star prospect in high school, Gladney was recruited heavily by programs such as Tulsa, TCU, North Texas and Arkansas. Ultimately choosing TCU, Gladney starred on the field during his four-year tenure with the Horned Frogs, amassing 146 tackles, five interceptions and 37 passes defended and being selected to the All-Big 12 team twice. In his senior season, Gladney led the Big 12 in passes defended with 14. This success and his physical style led him to be selected in the first round of the 2020 NFL Draft with the Minnesota Vikings’ 31st pick. He was released by the Vikings in 2021 following his indictment for domestic violence following a dispute with a woman he was in a relationship. Gladney was charged with 3rd-degree felony family violence assault. Gladney was later found not guilty of the charges, and the Arizona Cardinals signed him to a multi-year contract in March 2022. Gladney was currently training with the team during offseason OTA’s and had expressed his excitement to be playing NFL football again.

The Cardinals tweeted out a statement offering condolences to Gladney’s family and friends.

His teammate at TCU and current Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver Jalen Reagor tweeted out a statement following the news of his death.

Gladney’s agent has not provided further comment nor have more details regarding the manner of his death been released.

Kirk Cousins agreed to a two-year extension to remain with the Minnesota Vikings on Monday. The deal is worth $66 million.

Prior to the contract extension, Cousins was coming into the last year of a three-year deal worth $84 million that he signed with Minnesota in 2018. When combining next year’s salary with the current deal, Cousins is slated to earn $96 million with $61 million guaranteed by signing, league sources told ESPN. He will receive $35 million guaranteed for injury, however, the deal changes to fully guaranteed as the 2021 season begins. The extension helps Minnesota clear $10 million worth of cap space that can be applied to NFL free agency which officially begins on March 18.

SLIDESHOW: 50 GREAT SPORTS FIGURES WHO DIED IN 2019

Cousins had been constantly criticized for not performing well in big games, but last season he compiled stats consisting of 26 touchdowns, 3603 passing yards and a career-high 107.4 passer rating with just six interceptions.  In the NFC Wild Card game, Cousins helped the Vikings shock the heavily favored Saints before falling to the 49ers in the divisional round.

The NFL Wild Card games concluded Sunday setting up for must watch television in next week’s Divisional Round.

NFC Divisional Round: 49ers vs Vikings, Saturday, January 11, 4:35 pm ET on NBC

The six seed Vikings are coming off an upset win over the Saints on Sunday and look to ride their momentum into Levi’s Stadium. Quarterback Kirk Cousins hit wide receiver Adam Thielen with a deep pass in overtime to setup Minnesota at the Saints’ goal line and followed it up with a touchdown pass to Kyle Rudolph to win the game 26-20. Cousins threw 19 of 31 with 242 yards and a touchdown. Thielen finished with seven receptions for 129 yards and averaged 18.4 yards per catch. Dalvin Cook ran the ball 28 times for 94 yards and two touchdowns.

San Francisco is coming off their first NFC West title in seven years and finished the regular season with a 13-3 record. They have a lot of weapons on offense including quarterback Jimmy GaroppoloIn his first full year behind center Garoppolo compiled 3,978 passing yards with 27 touchdowns and 13 interceptions. Greg Kittle‘s numbers at the tight end position were good enough for top five in the league. He finished the regular season with 85 catches for 1,053 yards and five touchdowns. Minnesota was able to keep Brees in check, but they will have their hands full against a 49ers team that ranked fourth in total offense, according to NFL Team Stats.

AFC Divisional Round: Titans at Ravens, Saturday, January 11, at 8:15 pm ET on CBS

In Saturday’s second game the Titans travel to Baltimore to take on Lamar Jackson and the Ravens. Tennessee is coming off a shocking upset over the Patriots in Foxborough Saturday. Derrick Henry ran the ball 34 times for 182 yards and a touchdown, averaging 5.4 yards per carry. Despite only eight completed passes and one touchdown from Ryan Tannehill, the Titans were able to hold strong on defense limiting Tom Brady to 209 yards passing and one interception with no touchdowns. It will be interesting to see how their defense handles an elusive quarterback like Jackson.

Baltimore finished the season as the top seed in the AFC with a 14-2 record. In his first full season as quarterback, Jackson threw for 3,127 yards with 33 touchdowns and only six interceptions. He also broke Mike Vick‘s single season rushing record for a quarterback. He finished the year with 1,206 yards and seven touchdowns while averaging 6.9 yards per run. Mark Ingram also had an exceptional season compiling over a thousand yards rushing and ten touchdowns while averaging five yards per carry. Unlike New England, look for this high power offense to put up more than 13 points.

AFC Divisional Round: Texans at Chiefs, Sunday, Jan. 12, 3:05 p.m. ET on CBS

The Texans were able to figure out their offense late in the game against Buffalo behind stellar play from Deshaun Watson. After being shutout in the first half, the Houston quarterback lead his team down the field in overtime escaping a big hit from two Bills’ defensive linemen before throwing a pass that setup the Texans’ game winning field goal. Watson was a very efficient 20 of 25 for 247 yards. He finished with one passing touchdown and one rushing touchdown.

The Chiefs finished 2019 as the AFC West Champions with a 12-4 record. The team was off to a shaky start at 6-4 amid an injury to Patrick Mahomes, but they were able to win their last six games setting up a first round bye. In 14 games played Mahomes finished with 4,031 passing yards with 26 touchdowns and five interceptions. Travis Kelce is coming off a record-breaking season that saw the tight end become the first player at his position to record four straight seasons with at least 1,000 receiving yards. Look for this game to be a shootout between two quarterbacks that were both selected in the first round of 2017’s draft.

NFC Divisional Round: Packers vs Seahawks, Sunday, Jan. 12, 6:40 p.m. ET on FOX

Green Bay displayed dominance in the regular season capturing a first round bye and winning the NFC North with a 13-3 record. Aaron Rodgers had a very efficient season throwing for 4,002 yards with 26 touchdowns and just four interceptions. We didn’t know what to expect from first year head coach Matt LaFleur, but an improved defense and a healthy Rodgers seemed to be the recipe for success in Green Bay. Look for their offense to score a lot against a team that ranked 26th in total defense, according to NFL Team Stats.

The Seahawks are coming off a tough battle against Philadelphia who saw Josh McCown replace Carson Wentz in the second quarter of Sunday’s game. The Seahawks didn’t look great. They only scored 17 points and they head into next Sunday’s match up with the Packers still without their top three running backs. Marshawn Lynch scored a touchdown in the win, but only had seven yards rushing. Lynch will try to contribute more, but most of Seattle’s offense will have to come from Russell Wilson and the receiving core.

After waiting for what feels like an eternity since the Super Bowl, we finally have news about Americas favorite game. The NFL on Thursday released the full 2019 season schedule to the public, letting fans know who their favorite teams will have to face.

Some teams set to rebuild got the short-end of the stick, having to face off against steep competition early on and throughout the season. Meanwhile, some playoffs teams received what seemed to be an easy route to another postseason.

30 SPORTS FIGURES WHO DIED IN 2018 – TRIBUTE SLIDESHOW

The Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins, for example, are coming off of a 7-9 record last regular season. This season has them facing off against four straight playoff teams just to start . They also play two opponents after coming off a bye week, giving the opposing team more time to rest and focus on their game-plan.

It’s Tradition

The NFL was able to connect with fans in a historic way by using tradition. In classic fashion — and to keep one of the longest-running rivalries in sports going — on opening day, the Green Bay Packers will play the Chicago Bears, as they have so many times.

The Indianapolis Colts also have a difficult season ahead of them, especially with Andrew Luck still not back to full form. For any other team, it’s always hard to start the season on the road, but the Colts are starting the year off with back-to-back away games that could possibly sink them in an early-on hole, especially since the first two teams are the Titans and Chargers — teams they’re sure to face off against for playoff position.

The biggest problem with the Colts’ schedule is the fact that all of their tough games come towards the end of the season against teams who either made the playoffs last year or are looking to this year: the San Diego Chargers, Kansas City Chiefs, Pittsburgh Steelers and New Orlean Saints.

Redemption

After a tough playoff lost last season that is still difficult to swallow for the New Orleans Saints, they come back this year hoping to dominate the same way they have in the past. Many people feel the referees missed a pass interference call, which would have led the Saints to the Super Bowl. Their schedule is filled with back to back games on the West Coast, featuring teams like the Los Angeles Rams, an eager young strong squad looking to prove themselves after last year’s Super Bowl. They also face the Seattle Seahawks and Russell Wilson the week after.

Hannah Storm to call Thursday Night Football NFL games

Hannah Storm and Andrea Kremer will become the first female broadcasting duo to commentate an NFL game when they call this week’s Thursday Night Football matchup between the Minnesota Vikings and Los Angeles Rams.

Andrea Kremer, Hannah Storm To Call Thursday Night Football

Adam Schefter of ESPN reported the achievement Tuesday and noted the duo is set to call 11 games during the 2018 season on Thursday nights as part of the Amazon Prime Video NFL service.

Amazon viewers can watch the next 11 games with several commentating choices, including the Fox duo of Joe Buck and Troy Aikman, announcers from the U.K., a Spanish broadcast, or Storm and Kremer.

Other networks have previously hired women for NFL reporting roles. In 2016, NBC hired Heather Cox as a sideline reporter for Thursday Night Football games.

“I can’t imagine embarking upon this new role with anyone better than Andrea,” Storm said speaking about Kremer. “A lifelong friend with Pro Football Hall of Fame credentials, she is the perfect partner. Together we’re looking forward to offering a new option for Prime members on Thursday nights and I’m excited to get to work!”

Storm works for ESPN, while Kremer is an NFL Network correspondent. She’s also one of the most well-known sports broadcasters after covering dozens of Super Bowls as well as March Madness, the Stanley Cup Finals and the NBA Finals. In August, she was presented the Pete Rozelle Radio-Television Award by the Pro Football Hall of Fame for her 30-plus years covering the NFL.

“Teaming up with Hannah and Amazon for this is truly special,” Kremer said. “Hannah is a brilliant journalist and she has been a friend for many years. With decades of experience as storytellers, we will be bringing a different voice and viewpoint to covering the game of football.”

The two will work together through the week 15 game between the Kansas City Chiefs and Los Angeles Chargers. All 11 games will also be available on NFL Network.

WR Adam Thielen Re-signs with Vikings

Both NFL Championship Games will be held this Sunday, and here is everything you need to know before watching the matchups.

NFL 2018 Championship Games preview

The New England Patriots have reached the AFC title game for the seventh straight year after defeating the Tennessee Titans on Saturday. The Pats will face a surprising Jacksonville Jaguars team that boasts a powerful defense.

Tom Brady is hoping to reach his eighth Super Bowl, and his third in four years.

Jacksonville shockingly defeated Pittsburgh 45-42 on Saturday. Their trip to New England will mark their third AFC Championship Game in franchise history. The Jags are vying to reach their first-ever Super Bowl.

In the NFC, the Philadelphia Eagles will be playing in their seventh conference title game in franchise history when they host the Minnesota Vikings, who pulled off a thrilling 29-24 victory over the New Orleans Saints on Sunday with a touchdown in the last seconds. Stefon Diggs caught a 61-yard pass from Case Keenum to seal the win.

The Eagles defeated the Atlanta Falcons 15-10 to reach the NFC title game. Nick Foles threw for 246 yards in the win against Atlanta, so the Eagles offense is certainly a force to be reckoned with.

Should the Vikings win on Sunday, they would become the first team in NFL history to play a Super Bowl in their home stadium. Sunday will be Minnesota’s tenth NFC championship game in history and their first since 2009.

The Eagles are seeking their first Super Bowl trophy in the modern era. Philadelphia won three NFL Championships (1948, 1949, 1960) before the 1970 AFL-NFL merger.

Patriots Claim WR Michael Floyd off Waivers from Cardinals

Michael Floyda former Arizona Cardinals wide receiver, has signed with the Minnesota Vikings, NFL Network Insider Ian Rapoport reported Wednesday, citing sources familiar with the situation.

Ex-Cardinals WR Michael Floyd Signs with Vikings

The 27-year-old wideout was last claimed off waivers by the New England Patriots on Dec. 15. Before that, Floyd played four years for the Cardinals, who released him on Dec. 14, two days after he was arrested for drunk driving in Scottsdale, Arizona.

A police report obtained by NFL.com stated the receiver was found “unconscious behind the wheel of his running vehicle.”

Floyd, a 2012 first-round pick (No. 13) out of Notre Dame, became a free agent last offseason. According to Rapoport, his new deal with the Vikings is worth $1.5 million for one year, but could be worth as much as $6 million.

The wideout caught 33 passes for 446 yards and four touchdowns over his last 13 games with Arizona. He also recorded four catches for 42 yards and a touchdown with the Patriots.

Floyd is sure to provide a big offensive boost for Minnesota, which mainly relied on Stefon Diggs, Kyle Rudolph and Adam Thielen during Sam Bradford’s first year as quarterback. However, none of these receivers delivered a 1,000-yard (or more) season. Laquon Treadwell, the team’s first-round pick in 2016, appeared in just nine games, catching one pass for 15 yards.

In addition, the 6’2, 220-pound Floyd — a native of St. Paul, Minnesota — is a fast player whose intimidating physique will surely benefit the Vikings. The wideout also proved during his brief time with the Patriots last season that he can block aggressively downfield, which will surely delight Minnesota’s new running-back duo of Latavius Murray and Dalvin Cook.

Shea McClellin Signs 3-Year Deal With Patriots

Minnesota running back Adrian Peterson pulled his hamstring before training camp, doing a workout in the pre, pre-season. According to ESPN, Peterson passed his physical and was working on the sideline with athletic staff so he is not immobile.

Vikings head coach Mike Zimmer said Peterson isn’t able to practice at full intensity but he was on the field this past weekend for the kick off of NFL training camp.

Back-up backs have been getting more reps in including Jerick McKinnon. Last season McKinnon led the team in yards per carry with a 5.2 yard average and he played in all 16 games.

Zimmer said the injury wasn’t serious. “It’s good to see some of these young backs,” Zimmer said. “But [Peterson will] be out fairly soon, I think.”

There is nothing 31-year-old Peterson can do but rest until he’s ready to go full boar.

As a rookie McKinnon also let the Vikings in yards per carry with a 4.8 yard average. In a game against the Atlanta Falcons last year McKinnon broke for 135 rushing yards on 18 carries with a long of 55 and became the first rookie since Peterson in 2007 to break 100 yards in a game.

Other running backs for the Viking are Matt Asiata who in his fifth year in the league and averaged 3.9 yards per carry last season. C.J Ham is a rookie who signed as a free agent in May and comes from Division II Augustana University in Sioux Fall, South Dakota. He rushed for 1,097 yards and 16 touchdowns last season and had three games that he rushed 100-plus yards.

A look at the first day of Vikings training camp.

Former Minnesota Vikings head coach Bud Grant was one of the most prolific football minds while actively coaching. While doing this, he would have to endure freezing temperatures because of Minneapolis’ location and its frigid winters every year.

Yesterday before the Vikings wild-card playoff game against the Seattle Seahawks in Minneapolis, the temperature read a freezing minus-6 temperature with a wind chill set at minus-25. This was recorded as the third coldest game in NFL history and the coldest in Vikings franchise history. When the coin toss was about to be performed, it was to the utter surprise that the 88-year-old Grant walked onto the field only wearing a polo shirt.

The temperature would become the biggest factor of the game in terms of play calling for both teams. The Vikings lost in heartbreaking fashion after a missed field goal in the finals seconds by kicker Blair Walsh resulting in a 10-9 loss, thus having the Seahawks advance to the Divisional Playoffs next weekend.

In the final game of the 2015-16 NFL regular season at a frigid Lambeau Field, the Green Bay Packers and Minnesota Vikings were set to square off for a NFC North division title that has seen both teams atop the division throughout the season. With both teams already having playoff berths, this game meant more because of the Vikings not winning the division since 2009 and the Packers winning it in the last four years.

With a dismal first half with only field goals being kicked, the second half brought some significant scores on both sides of the ball for the Vikings. Running back Adrian Peterson ran a 3-yard touchdown to start the third quarter, while a fumble caused by the Vikings defense on Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers was run back for a 55-yard touchdown return by cornerback Captain Munnerlyn. With the score now reading 20-3, Rodgers and the sluggish Packers offense would score in the fourth quarter with a 16-yard touchdown catch from wide receiver Richard Rodgers. After a later field goal by Packers kicker Mason Crosby, the Vikings’ kick returner Cordarrelle Patterson had the ball swatted away by Crosby in a possible 70-yard kick return chance for a touchdown with 5:21 left in the game. But on the next drive, Rodgers would be intercepted in the end zone by cornerback Xavier Rhodes that would stop the Packers from scoring. A last desperation move by the Packers later on during the two-minute warning resulted in a last hail mary throw by Rodgers being spiked down by the Vikings defense, resulting in the final score of 20-13 and the Vikings coming away with the division title. “It’s been since 2009 and that’s too long of a stretch,” Peterson said, who left the third quarter with an apparent lower back injury but came back in the fourth. “That drought is over.”

With this game behind both teams, playoffs and Super Bowl hopes are officially underway next week with both teams having considerable games coming up next Sunday. The Vikings will host the wild-card seed Seattle Seahawks in Minneapolis while the Packers will travel to Washington, D.C. to face the NFC East champions in the Redskins.

During the day yesterday before their primetime game, the Minnesota Vikings were hoping that the Seattle Seahawks and the Carolina Panthers would win their respective games so their postseason hopes could stay alive. Neither of those scenarios happened and the Vikings were destined to take their fate into their own hands in their matchup against the New York Giants. Throughout the course of the game during a freezing Sunday night in Minneapolis, it seemed that the Vikings had no problem in taking care of business in solidifying their playoff hopes.

Vikings quarterback Teddy Bridgewater threw for 168 yards and one touchdown, while running back Adrian Peterson ran for 104 yards and had a touchdown of his own. When Peterson was on the sideline, backup running back Jerick McKinnon took the realm and had two touchdowns for the night. The Vikings defense made the Giants offense have a miserable night, especially with three interceptions off Giants quarterback Eli Manning and one being run back for a touchdown by safety Harrison Smith. The Giants were missing a key part in their offense in star wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. being suspended for one game for his actions last week against the Panthers, which was noticed on every Giants offensive drive.

Vikings kicker Blair Walsh contributed to the increasing score with five field goals of his own, resulting in a manhandling 49-17 victory for the Vikings. “I think we’re playing with confidence right now. I think our guys feel good about the things that we’re doing, and I think they believe,” Vikings coach Mike Zimmer said. “Half the battle is believing.”

With the win, the Vikings are now a wild card in the NFC playoff race. The Vikings can go even further into the seeding of the playoffs with their NFC North division game against the Green Bay Packers next Sunday night, with the winner taking the division and No. 3 seed. Meanwhile, the Giants are out of the playoff race in the NFC East division after the Washington Redskins won the division on Saturday night, with the future of head coach Tom Coughlin and his staff in question.

Minnesota Vikings star running back Adrian Peterson has been having one of the best seasons of his career this year and it seems he is showing no signs of stopping. During Sunday’s game against the Oakland Raiders in Oakland, Peterson finished the game with a whopping 203 yards and one touchdown, bringing his total yardage this season to 961 yards, in which he leads the league currently in rushing.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=a9_mF14lojA

The play that got him over 200 yards rushing for the game was an 80-yard rushing touchdown that won the game for the Vikings over the Raiders. With this play, Peterson has tied Hall of Famer O.J. Simpson for the most games with 200-yards rushed in NFL history.

Peterson, who missed all but one game last year due to child abuse charges bestowed upon him, has had a stellar career since being drafted in 2007 by the Vikings. His breakout year was in 2012 when he rushed for 2,097 yards for the season and was nine yards away from breaking the single season all-time record set by Eric Dickerson, but would eventually win the NFL MVP award.
