Fans of multiple MLB franchises are clamoring for their teams to sign free-agent pitcher Trevor Bauer. The 2020 N.L. Cy Young award winner, once accused of multiple counts of sexual assault, made headlines earlier this week when he made an impressive outing against a group of Dodgers prospects at spring training. No MLB scouts were in attendance.

In order to pitch in an exhibition against minor leaguers at the Dodgers’ spring training camp, Bauer paid to join Team Asian Breeze, a traveling Japanese team. Bauer’s fastball was clocked at 99 miles per hour on several pitches in three scoreless innings. The pitcher insists that he still belongs in Major League Baseball.

“I’m just asking for the league minimum, so it’s not a money thing,” Bauer said, according to ESPN. “I’ve served my suspension twice over. I’ve been cleared of everything in the legal system. If you think about it logically, there’s really no reason why I shouldn’t have a job.”

Bauer has not pitched in MLB since 2021 after multiple women came forward accusing him of sexual assault. He eventually settled a pair of civil lawsuits in 2023 and avoided criminal charges.

MLB placed Bauer on administrative leave in July 2021 and eventually suspended him for 194 games after an original 324-game ruling was appealed. He was released by the Dodgers in January 2023 and played for the Yokohama DeNa BayStars of the Japanese Central League last year.

With Bauer, now 33, technically eligible to return to MLB, several teams have been asked if they would consider signing him to a short-term deal. The Yankees and Twins, both teams in need of starting pitching, have recently joined a slew of their rivals to go on the record saying they have no interest. The Dodgers, Bauer’s most recent MLB team, are also maintaining their distance after speaking out against the Cy Young winner early last year.

“Two extensive reviews of all the available evidence in this case … concluded that Mr. Bauer’s actions warranted the longest ever active player suspension in our sport for violations of this policy,” the Dodgers said in a statement announcing his release. “Now that this process has been completed, and after careful consideration, we have decided that he will no longer be part of our organization.”

Based on his performance in Japan and his most recent spring training appearance, it appears that Bauer still has the ability to pitch at the professional level. So far though, teams are still holding out.

A fourth woman has come forward to accuse former MLB pitcher Trevor Bauer of sexual assault in a lawsuit in Arizona. The woman claims that Bauer sexually abused her on multiple occasions between 2020 and 2021 in incidents that included a rape-related pregnancy, choking and physical threats with a knife.

In response to the woman’s accusations, which were published by USA Today Tuesday, Bauer has categorically denied all charges included in the article, claiming that the woman had previously tried to extort him with false information. He also filed legal action of his own, including a countersuit for fraud, extortion and fabricating a pregnancy. Bauer issued the statement through his co-agents, Jon Fetterolf and Rachel Luba.

“Trevor Bauer categorically denies this woman’s unhinged allegations,” the statement said. “She has made four documented multi-million-dollar extortion demands over the last four years, which prompted Mr. Bauer to file a criminal complaint against her. He is also actively suing for fraud.”

According to the article in USA Today, which Bauer’s co-agents specifically criticized in their statement, Bauer has been accused of impregnating his accuser in December 2020 and failing to recognize the pregnancy. In his countersuit, Bauer claims that he paid nearly $9,000 to the woman for the pregnancy and its termination. He is also accused of choking her to the point of unconsciousness and holding a steak knife to her throat.

“The Defendant swiftly caught me off guard and held me at knife point,” the woman said, according to court filings. “The Defendant placed his jagged steak knife to my throat. I was stunned and did not dare to move. The Defendant asked me, ‘Have you ever been held at knife point?’ to which I hesitantly respond, ‘No.’ The Defendant took a deep breath in and exhaled. The Defendant’s steak knife scratched my throat as he released me and I got up from his lap.”

Bauer has previously been accused of sexual assault three times before, once in California and twice in Ohio. The initial investigation into his behavior in 2021 led MLB Commissioner Rob Manfred to issue a 324-game suspension for Bauer in the summer of 2022. Bauer appealed and had his suspension reduced to 194 games, reinstating him due to time served, but he was released by the Dodgers in January 2023. He currently plays for the Yokohama DeNA BayStars in Japan.

Los Angeles Dodgers CEO and President Stan Kasten said Wednesday that the organization was content about the manner in which pitcher Trevor Bauer was released in response to domestic violence accusations.

“You know, this wasn’t unanimous out in the real world – among fans, among the media or whatnot,” Kasten told reporters. “But the decision we reached was unanimous among the people that are charged with having to make this decision.”

Bauer was released in December 2022 after serving 194 days of what was originally supposed to be a 324-day suspension served by MLB in April. The Dodgers had two weeks following his reinstatement to decide whether or not to retain him. They chose to release him, eating $22.5 million of his $32 million salary in 2023 as a result. The Dodgers president did not directly address Bauer’s claim that officials within the organization wanted him to return.

“I’m not going to get into contradicting or agreeing with anything about what was supposed to be a private conversation,” Kasten said. “I’ll just say within a very short time we came back and made our decision. I think that speaks for itself.”

Debate about the manner in which Bauer was disciplined was rampant within the MLB community from the time the accusations were first made to his eventual release from the Dodgers organization more than a year later. In June 2021, the pitcher was accused of physically and sexually assaulting a woman in Los Angeles in a case that was eventually dropped in February 2022 due to a lack of evidence. Two other women later came forward accusing Bauer of similar behavior, though no additional cases have been brought against him. Bauer later sued multiple publications, reporters and his Los Angeles accuser for defamation.

Though an independent arbitrator ended Bauer’s suspension in December, he remains a free agent.

Trevor Bauer will be eligible to return to the mound in 2023 but it looks like the Los Angeles Dodgers won’t be bringing him back.

Multiple women have accused the 31-year-old of sexual assault.

This includes a San Diego-based woman who got a temporary restraining order against Bauer in June 2021 and another that accused him of choking and striking her against her will.

But the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office has determined that Bauer will not face criminal charges for the allegations.

And while Bauer and his legal team have also denied the claims, the MLB decided to put him on administrative leave and suspended him for 324 games.

The suspension would have forced him to miss two full seasons – but an arbitrator Thursday cut it down to 194 games.

That means he will be without pay for 50 games in 2023.

“While we believe a longer suspension was warranted, MLB will abide by the neutral arbitrator’s decision, which upholds baseball’s longest-ever active player suspension for sexual assault or domestic violence,” the league said in a statement.

But now the Dodgers, who have one year left committed to Bauer, have the decision to make and it will need to be made soon.

Should the team release the right-hander, it would owe still owe $23 million in 2023.

USA Today columnist Bob Nightengale reports that the Dodgers plan to go in this direction, with the decision needing to be made by no later than January 6.

In February 2021, Bauer and the Dodgers agreed to a three-year $102 million contract.

With the Dodgers, he has only appeared in 17 games.

Bauer has not pitched since June 28, 2021.

Major League Baseball and its Players Association Thursday extended the administrative leave for Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer. He was placed back on leave once the lockout ended, and that was supposed to end March 19, so the new extension has him banned through Sunday, April 16.

The Dodgers’ regular season begins on April 8.

Bauer last pitched on June 28 of the 2021 season. Days after that game, he was accused of sexual assault and then placed on administrative leave that lasted through the campaign. Then, in early February, it was announced that the pitcher won’t face criminal charges.

The lack of criminal charges doesn’t immunize Bauer from potential MLB discipline—for which there is precedence.

Dodgers manager Dave Roberts said he wouldn’t “close the door completely” on Bauer rejoining the team in spring training.

The 31-year-old—who signed a three-year, $102 million contract with L.A. prior to 2021—finished 8-5 with a 2.59 ERA and 1.00 WHIP in 107 2/3 innings before the early exit.

Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer will not face criminal charges by Los Angeles prosecutors. The ruling concludes a five-month review of the case, which stems from sexual assault allegations made by a San Diego woman who sought an eventually-dismissed restraining order against him this summer.

The DA’s office considered but ultimately rejected charges of assault by means likely to produce great bodily injury and sodomy of an unconscious person during the first encounter between the two on April 22 and domestic violence during the second encounter on May 16.

The office said: “After a thorough review of all the available evidence, including the civil restraining order proceedings, witness statements, and the physical evidence, the People are unable to prove the relevant charges beyond a reasonable doubt.”

Following the allegations, Bauer spent the final three months of the 2021 regular season on administrative leave and still could face discipline from MLB. Its commissioner, Rob Manfred, has the autonomy to hand out suspensions under the domestic violence policy.

MLB said its investigation into the situation “is ongoing, and we will comment further at the appropriate time.”

The Dodgers owe Bauer upwards of $47 million in 2022. They declined to comment and said they would not do so until MLB’s investigation wraps up. He joined the team in February 2021 on a unique short-term contract that would’ve paid him up to $85 million over the course of two seasons, but he didn’t pitch beyond June 28 of its first year.

Shortly after the ruling, Bauer posted a seven-or-so-minute video to YouTube titled “The Truth.” In it he firmly denies the allegations and talks about how difficult the past few months have been on him, not before blaming certain segments of the media for so-called unfair reporting.

“She chose to stay the night, both times, and left the following day without any incident or concern,” he says. “And when she left, she certainly did not look anything like the photos that were later attached to her family court declaration and circulated by her lawyers to the media. While this is not the time, nor the place, to address every single lie or falsehood that this woman or her lawyers made to the court, I do want to be crystal clear about a few things: I never punched this woman in the face. I never punched her in the vagina. I never scratched her face. I never had anal sex with her, or sodomized her in any way. I never assaulted her in any way at any time. And while we did have consensual rough sex, the disturbing acts and conduct that she described simply did not occur.”

June 29, the then-27-year-old San Diego woman filed a request for a domestic violence restraining order, detailing the allegations against Bauer over the course of the two encounters at his Pasadena, Calif., home.

The Pasadena Police Department concluded its investigation of Bauer on August 27, and then the L.A. County District Attorney’s Office spent the next five months reviewing the findings.

A temporary restraining order filed against Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer has been dissolved. Los Angeles Superior Court Judge Diana Gould-Saltman ruled against a woman’s request for a permanent restraining order Thursday.

Gould-Saltman determined that Bauer did not pose a threat to the 27-year-old woman. The woman accused Bauer of sexual assault over the course of two sexual encounters. She suffered injuries that she did not consent to during the encounters.

The judge said the “injuries as shown in the photographs are terrible,” but added, “If she set limits and he exceeded them, this case would’ve been clear. But she set limits without considering all the consequences, and respondent did not exceed limits that the petitioner set.”

Shawn Holley, one of Bauer’s attorneys, said in a statement outside the courthouse while standing with Bauer and attorney Jon Fetterolf, “We are grateful to the Los Angeles Superior Court for denying the request for a permanent restraining order and dissolving the temporary restraining order against Mr. Bauer today,” Holley said. “We have expected this outcome since the petition was filed in June. But we appreciate the court reviewing all the relevant information and testimony to make this decision.”

The Pasadena Police Department has investigated the allegations against Bauer for over three months but has not made any charges or arrests. Major League Baseball has been conducting its own separate investigation for about seven weeks.

Bauer has been on administrative leave since July 2, and it was extended for a sixth time on Thursday afternoon with consent by the MLB Players Association. Bauer’s leave will be extended eight days until Aug. 27. The league’s decision is not dependent on a criminal conviction, but the league is not expected to determine the length of a potential suspension until the legal process plays out.

On Thursday morning, Bauer was called to the witness stand, but his attorneys had previously told the judge that he would invoke his fifth amendment right not to incriminate himself.

The woman’s attorneys pleaded with the judge to allow for cross-examination. The attorneys cited questions that were important to the heading but not incriminating. However, Gould-Saltman ruled that any questions specific to the hearing could be incriminating. When the Judge asked whether Bauer would invoke his Fifth Amendment right, Bauer responded, “Yes, your honor.”

Thursday marked the end of a four-day hearing to determine whether the temporary restraining order obtained against Bauer should be dismissed or made permanent, which in California can last up to five years. The woman’s attorneys asked for a five-year protective order and that Bauer enters a 52-week battery program.

The judge noted that the woman invited rough sex by asking Bauer to choke her out and texting him to “gimme all the pain” leading up to the second encounter.

“When a woman says ‘no,’ she should be believed,” Gould-Saltman said. “So what about when she says ‘yes?'”

Gould-Saltman noted that Bauer didn’t pursue or threaten the woman after their second sexual encounter. The judge said there was “no factual basis” to support the woman’s fear of Bauer after she went to the emergency room or after obtaining a temporary protective order. The Judge then noted that there was “no supportable evidence” that he would harm her in the future.

On Monday, Aug. 16, a 27-year-old woman from San Diego testified against Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer. The woman explained that Bauer made her feel very safe as he shared his life experiences and seemed to be a gentleman as she was invited to his home in Pasadena. Things took an unexpected turn when their sexual encounters resulted in Bauer supposedly choking the woman unconscious and punching her.

The hearing at the Stanley Mosk Courthouse in Los Angeles was to determine whether her temporary restraining order on Bauer would be extended. At this hearing, she explained the initial encounter with Bauer on social media and the relationship that followed.

The woman is a lifelong baseball fan and the daughter of a coach. On April 18, while watching the Dodgers play the San Diego Padres, she posted a picture on Instagram and tagged Bauer. To her surprise, Bauer responded to the post. After exchanging messages, Bauer invited her to his home in Pasadena on April 21. The woman described her experience after arrival at Bauer’s home, saying they sat on separate couches and spoke about intimate life experiences.

“I felt safe,” the woman said.

The two moved to the bedroom shortly after. She said Bauer got increasingly aggressive, and she said she was “OK with a little bit of rough sex.” Shortly after, the woman explained Bauer wrapped her hair around her throat and choked her unconscious. The woman testified that when she regained consciousness, she discovered Bauer had anal sex with her.

“I woke up confused because I had never gone unconscious before. I felt sick to my stomach and thought I was going to vomit.”

The woman admitted she spent the night with Bauer before returning to San Diego the next morning. She testified that over the next several weeks, she and Bauer exchanged flirtatious messages. The woman also explained she spoke of him highly to her friends, calling him “super intelligent and an open book.”

The woman said she returned to Bauer’s residence on May 15 to build on the positive emotional conversation and get past the negative sexual experience. After spending quality time talking, they again moved to the bedroom. The woman recalls Bauer asking her what is off-limits.  “I didn’t know what to say,” she testified. “I said not to put your fingers down my throat.”

The woman claims Bauer proceeded to choke her with her hair twice in the following few minutes. The woman lost consciousness, and Bauer punched her in the left side of her face when she gained consciousness. The woman says this was the first time she had ever been punched. Because of this, she froze and was unable to stop the assault.

Bauer stood still, emotionless during the testimony in his dark suit and COVID-19 facemask alongside his attorney, Shawn Holley. Holley was a part of the legal team that defended O.J. Simpson against murder charges.

The woman will retake the stand in front of Judge Dianna Gould-Saltman. She is the second woman who has filed for a restraining order against Bauer.

On Tuesday, the second day of the civil lawsuit filed by a woman requesting a permanent restraining order against Trevor Bauer concluded.

The second day featured Bauer’s attorney cross-examining the woman, aggressively questioning why she waited six weeks to file her request following a violent encounter with the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher.

The woman last saw Bauer on May 17 and did not obtain the temporary restraining order against him until June 29, a 43-day gap that Bauer’s attorney highlighted in their attempts to prove she didn’t require a restraining order in the first place.

The woman told her attorney that she waited because a detective from Pasadena, California, told her on two separate occasions that Bauer would be arrested.

“I waited as long as I could,” the woman said from the witness stand in L.A. County Superior Court. “And when I hit the point of realizing they were gonna take a while for this investigation, I had to protect myself in the meantime.”

Bauer has not been arrested or charged yet. The Pasadena Police Department’s criminal investigation has been ongoing for almost three months. Meanwhile, the MLB is currently conducting a separate investigation that has kept Bauer on administrative leave and away from the Dodgers since July 2.

Shawn Holley, one of Bauer’s attorneys, questioned the woman for two and half hours.

Holley’s cross-examination mainly focused on the woman’s text messages with Bauer and members of her inner circle, some of which were not part of her initial declaration. Bauer’s attorneys allege the text messages depict the woman either making fun of Bauer or expressing an ulterior motive. The most notable messages were when she tells a colleague she has her “hooks in” and “can get in his head” and having no illusions of an “intimate relationship” with Bauer, one of the state’s prerequisites for a domestic violence restraining order.

The woman continued to cry as Holley questioned her about a text message exchanged she had with a former friend. In the texts, she referenced San Diego Padres shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr., with whom the woman said she had a sexual relationship within 2019. When Holley asked to identify the subject of another text message that read “Trevor is a wackadoodle like Clev.” The woman cried harder and responded, “I don’t need to answer that.”

“He doesn’t need to be brought into this,” the woman said. She was instructed by the Judge to answer the question, to which she said she had a sexual encounter with Padres pitcher Mike Clevinger.

Kelly Valencia, the forensic nurse examiner who performed the Sexual Assault Response Team (SART) exam on the woman, testified. Valencia, a nurse with more than 40 years of experience, said the injuries she documented were consistent with the women’s description of what happened to her during sex with Bauer. The woman accused Bauer of strangled her with her own hair and being punched in her face, on her buttocks, and in her genitals.

“I had never seen that before,” Valencia said of the bruising she documented on the area outside the woman’s vagina. “It was frankly alarming.”

The woman continued to answer questions from one of her attorneys, Lisa Helfend-Meyer, in which she detailed how poorly she felt after the second sexual encounter with Bauer. Meyer asked about the text message she sent to her cousin after the second encounter, in which she stated it was “consensual” while showing a picture of her facial injuries. The woman testified she didn’t truly believe the encounter was consensual, saying, “I lost any chance of giving consent after the first time he choked me out.”

The woman said she told one of her best friends about the details of what took place during her second encounter with the pitcher. She said she tried to keep most of what occurred hidden from almost everybody else. She testified that she was hesitant to visit an emergency room “because I knew how it was gonna go.”

“I knew how it worked,” she said. “Publicity, the situation. Immediately it paints me like a sl*t. And I didn’t want this story anywhere. I didn’t. I was so embarrassed about all of it.”

Day three of the civil suit will continue on Wednesday with additional witnesses.

Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer, who is on administrative leave amid an investigation over alleged sexual assault in California, was the subject of a temporary restraining order filed by a different woman in Ohio last year.

According to Bauer’s representatives, the woman sought the order in June 2020, a year after her on-and-off relationship with Bauer ended. News of the protection order filed in Ohio was first reported by the Washington Post based on sealed court records the newspaper was able to obtain. It includes allegations that the Ohio woman suffered bruises on her face after Bauer punched and choked her during sex without consent, her attorney told the news outlet.

Joe Darwal, the woman’s current attorney, said the woman is not interested in coming forward. “[My] client had no interest in coming forward about her experience as she feared the possible consequences of doing so.” The attorney then said that once the Washington Post “reached out for a comment regarding documents they received from third parties, she was left with no other choice but to come forward and confirm the documents they received.”

“The MLB should be applauded for their handling of this investigation,” Darwal said. “Although they could not have known of our client’s story before the tragic events in California, their approach is both thorough and respectful. Our client is currently assisting the MLB in this investigation; however, as the process is ongoing I cannot comment further at this time.”

Bauer has refuted these claims against the Ohio woman. He says that he has been the victim of a “pattern of disturbing behavior by this woman and her attorneys,” adding that the “baseless allegations” reported on the Post came from “a woman who has not only harassed and physically assaulted me but who also attempted to extort me for millions of dollars last year in exchange for her not coming forward with false claims.”

“This is a continuation by the woman and her attorneys to make good on their threats to harm me by perpetuating a false narrative. This has been a game to her from the beginning but my life is not a game and I won’t stand by idly and allow this conduct to continue,” Bauer said.

The MLB is currently investigating Bauer for disturbing sexual assault allegations from a woman in California. The woman provided graphic details and photos of her alleged encounters with Bauer in a request for a domestic violence restraining order filed last month.

In the temporary order request filed in the Los Angeles Superior Court, the woman said she consented to sex with Bauer on two separate occasions earlier this year, but accused him of doing things that she did not consent to during intercourse. She alleged that Bauer choked her until she lost consciousness, repeatedly punched her in the face and gave her injuries that required hospitalization.

The Dodgers are sending a lucrative package of prospects to Washington: pitcher Josiah Gray, catcher Keibert Ruiz, pitcher Gerardo Carrillo and outfielder Donovan Casey. Gray and Ruiz were the top two prospects from Los Angeles’s farm system.

Scherzer is having a stellar season, pitching to a 2.76 ERA in 19 starts. He is owed $35 million in this final year of his contract, although it will be paid off in deferrals through 2028. He will join a rotation of Walker Buehler, Clayton KershawDavid Price, Julio Urias and Tony Gonsolin. Recently added pitcher Trevor Bauer is out indefinitely after possible criminal offenses arose off the field.

Turner is currently batting .322 with 18 big flies and 49 runs batted in. He is just 28 years old and is under control through the 2022 season.

Los Angeles has a history of making big splashes at the trade deadline. Previous examples include acquiring Yu Darvish and Manny Machado.

Trevor Bauer is currently on administrative leave, but he won’t be welcomed back if he is permitted to return to the Los Angeles Dodgers.

The league placed Bauer on paid administrative leave as the MLB investigates sexual assault allegations under the league’s collectively bargained domestic violence, sexual assault and child abuse policy. Pasadena police are also investigating Bauer for felony assault separately from the league’s investigation.

The alleged incidents took place earlier this year. A woman alleges that Bauer assaulted her in two separate encounters. The woman has since obtained an ex parte temporary restraining order against Bauer in Los Angeles County Superior Court.

Last week, Bauer appeared in court to fight an extension of the protective order sought by the woman who alleges the assault. Attorneys for both sides intend to call witnesses and the hearing has been scheduled for August 2. The judge ruled Bauer must take the stand at that time, which is standard in such civil proceedings.

It is currently unknown when the right-handed pitcher could return to the club. However, a possible return would be met with opposition. According to two people with knowledge of Dodgers clubhouse dynamics, who are unauthorized to speak publicly about the situation, most players do not want Bauer back under any circumstances.

Bauer signed a three-year, $102 million contract with multiple opt-outs this past offseason. Under the league’s domestic violence policy, the Dodgers cannot release Bauer until the investigation is complete. If the team does release him then, they will still owe him the balance of his contract.

Bauer, 30, went 8-5 with a 2.59 ERA in 17 starts before being placed on administrative leave. Last year, the right-handed flamethrower won the CY Young award with the Cincinnati Reds.

The MLB announced that Trevor Bauer‘s administrative leave has been extended by seven days.

“With the agreement of the Players Association, MLB has extended Trevor Bauer’s placement on Administrative Leave for an additional 7 days, effective tomorrow. MLB’s investigation is ongoing,” the tweet said.

The statement was made while the league and the Pasadena Police Department continue their separate investigations into sexual assault allegations made against Bauer. A woman accused the Los Angeles Dodgers pitcher of assaulting her earlier this year, twice. The woman alleges that the pitcher choked her until she lost consciousness on multiple occasions, punched her in several areas of her body and left her with injuries that required hospitalizations. These incidents allegedly happened over the course of two sexual encounters this year.

The first encounter occurred in April, and the victim alleges that the pitcher choked her unconscious and penetrated her anally without consent. The second encounter occurred in May. The woman said that Bauer choked her unconscious, and when she regained consciousness, the pitcher was repeatedly punching her in the head. The hits to the head landed the woman in the emergency room with severe trauma.

The victim underwent two medical examinations, one at the Alvarado Hospital Medical Center in San Diego on May 16 and another at Palomar Health in Escondido, California. In her second medical examination, she had a sexual assault response team (SART) exam, which included medical professionals photographing her entire body.

The woman provided those pictures to the court. The pictures showed her face “visibly bruised and swollen, including under both of her eyes. She also has a swollen jaw, bloodied lip, and scratches to the side of her face.”

The victim already filed for a domestic violence ex parte restraining order against Bauer. It was granted on June 28. An ex parte is a temporary restraining order that prevents the accused from immediately responding in court. Instead, the accused is notified of the allegations, and given a formal hearing with the opportunity to respond at a later date to refute the allegations.

Dodgers starting pitcher Trevor Bauer allegedly assaulted a woman, stemming from a sexual encounter earlier this year.

The Pasadena Police Department said it’s investigating the alleged assault that occurred in the middle of May. “It is an active investigation,” said Lt. Bill Grisafe.

The woman was granted a domestic violence restraining order against Bauer.

“The order is a result of a recent assault that took place at the hands of Mr. Bauer where Ms. Hill suffered severe physical and emotional pain,” Garelick said. “Our goal is to keep Mr. Bauer from contacting our client in any way possible.”

According to her attorney, Marc Garelick, his client allegedly “suffered physical and emotional pain” as a result of a “recent assault” from Bauer.

Bauer denies the allegations, according to a statement from his agent, Jon Fetterolf.

“Mr. Bauer had a brief and wholly consensual sexual relationship initiated by [the plaintiff] beginning in April 2021,” Fetterolf said. “We have messages that show [the plaintiff] repeatedly asking for ‘rough’ sexual encounters involving requests to be ‘choked out’ and slapped in the face. In both of their encounters, [the plaintiff] drove from San Diego to Mr. Bauer’s residence in Pasadena, Calif. where she went on to dictate what she wanted from him sexually and he did what was asked. Following each of her only two meetings with Mr. Bauer, [the plaintiff] spent the night and left without incident, continuing to message Mr. Bauer with friendly and flirtatious banter. In the days following their second and final encounter, [the plaintiff] shared photos of herself and indicated that she had sought medical care for a concussion. Mr. Bauer responded with concern and confusion, and [the plaintiff] was neither angry nor accusatory.”

The MLB is aware of the allegations and will look into them. The Dodgers are also aware of the allegations according to an issued statement. They were “made aware of the allegations against Trevor Bauer late this afternoon and immediately contacted Major League Baseball, which will be handling the matter. The Dodgers take any allegations of this nature very seriously but will have no further comment at this time.”

Bauer is the reigning CY Young award winner and signed a three-year, $102 million contract last year that includes two player options with the Dodgers.

Tyler Glasnow has become a staple of the starting pitching rotation for the Tampa Bay Rays – at least he was before a diagnosis confirmed a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and a flexor tendon strain in his throwing arm.

Glasnow blames this injury on the imminent sanctions on substance use Major League Baseball is pursuing. Glasnow normally uses sunscreen, but two starts ago experimented with not using it. Just two starts later, and he is on the Injured List. Glasnow left his most recent start after just four innings, and after medical examination received the disheartening diagnosis. Glasnow stated that he understands the league’s motivations to stop performance-enhancing substances from being used by pitchers, but that banning all forms of gripping substances would be a mistake.

Glasnow then went on to suggest the suddenness with which MLB decided to pursue these changes is truly the most head-scratching choice.

“Do it in the offseason. Give us a chance to adjust to it,” he said. “But I just threw 80 innings, then you tell me I can’t use anything in the middle of the year. I have to change everything I’ve been doing the entire season. I’m telling you I truly believe that’s why I got hurt.”

The lack of grip substance forced Glasnow to squeeze the ball far more tightly than he normally has to, which he sees as a contributing factor to his injury. “Me throwing 100 mph and being [6-foot-7] is why I got hurt, but that contributed.”

The frustration is widespread. Dodgers pitcher Trevor Bauer also criticized the league, which he says is making a rushed decision that misunderstands the pitcher position.

Instead of possible awards or an All-Star Game appearance, Glasnow will instead be rehabbing and hoping that he will not need surgery on his arm. He will continue to meet with medical staff to evaluate his injury.

After making the postseason for seven straight years without a World Series title, the Los Angeles Dodgers finally won it all in 2020. Los Angeles has six other World Series titles. They’ve also lost in the championship series a total of 14 times. In 2020, the Dodgers led the majors in ERA with a 3.02 ERA and home runs with a total of 118. Things are looking good once again for Los Angeles in 2021, and they have what it takes to make it to the World Series.

Here are the Dogers’ projected starters.

LOS ANGELES DODGERS PROJECTED BATTING ORDER:

  1. OF Mookie Betts
  2. SS Corey Seager
  3. 3B Justin Turner
  4. OF Cody Bellinger
  5. 1B Max Muncy
  6. C Will Smith
  7. OF A.J. Pollock
  8. 2B Gavin Lux
  9. Pitcher

LOS ANGELES DODGERS PROJECTED PITCHING STAFF:

  • SP1 Clayton Kershaw
  • SP2 Trevor Bauer
  • SP3 Walker Buehler
  • SP4 David Price
  • SP5 Julio Urias
  • CL Kenley Jansen

LOS ANGELES DODGERS TEAM OUTLOOK:

The Dodgers made impactful moves throughout the offseason. One of those moves was that they made the power move to sign Trevor Bauer. They also acquired Corey Knebel to bolster their bullpen and resigned third baseman Justin Turner. Not only that, the Dodgers acquired Sheldon Neuse from a minor deal with the Oakland Athletics. During the offseason, Los Angeles lost outfielder Joc Pederson, second baseman Enrique Hernandez, relievers Pedro Baez and Jake McGee, and starter Alex Wood.

Regarding their starting rotation, the Dodgers have three elite arms plus three developing pitchers in Julio Urias, Tony Gonsolin, and Dustin May. Their bullpen could use some tweaking as Kenley Jansen struggled in 2020. Regarding offense, the top of the lineup has an abundance of power. Catcher Will Smith and second baseman Gavin Lux also provide upsides. The Dodgers have the best roster in all of baseball, and their starting pitching depth provides them with the push they need to be back in the World Series in 2021.

Opening Day for Major League Baseball is rapidly approaching. With this in mind, it is the perfect time to look at each team’s predictions for the 2021 season, following 2020’s 60-game shortened campaign.

The Cincinnati Reds took advantage of the COVID-19 shortened season and made the playoffs after six straight losing seasons. The Reds have a total of five World Series titles across the team’s 139-year history. The team’s success can be attributed to having the league’s seventh-best ERA in 2020 with a 3.84 ERA and the seventh-most home runs with a total of 90 homers. With how things stand, the Reds would have to get lucky to make the postseason again in 2021.

Here are Cincinnati’s projected starters.

Cincinnati Reds Projected Batting Order:

  1. OF Nick Senzel
  2. 1B Joey Votto
  3. OF Nick Castellanos
  4. 2B Mike Moustakas
  5. 3B Eugenio Suarez
  6. OF Jesse Winker
  7. C Tyler Stephenson
  8. OF Shogo Akiyama
  9. Pitcher

Cincinnati Reds Projected Pitching Staff:

  • SP1 Luis Castillo
  • SP2 Sonny Gray
  • SP3 Tyler Mahle
  • SP4 Wade Miley
  • SP5 Michael Lorenzen
  • CL Amir Garrett

Cincinnati Reds Team Outlook:

During the offseason, the Reds lost starter Trevor Bauer and failed to re-sign Freddy Galvis, reliever Archie Bradley, and right-hander Anthony DeSclafani. Despite the losses, Cincy did make some additions and picked up relievers Sean Doolittle, Noe Ramirez, and starting pitcher Jeff Hoffman. Regarding the starting rotation, Sonny Gray, Luis Castillo, and Tyler Mahle are solid and offer upside, but the backend of the rotation isn’t as promising.

Considering the team’s offense, the Reds have three power bats in outfielder Nick Castellanos, third baseman Eugenio Suarez and second baseman Mike Moustakas. For the Reds to make the playoffs, everything would have to go right. Odds are, they will reach .500 if their offense plays well. But at the end of the day, the Reds need to acquire one more starter to finish higher in the National League Central division.

On Sunday, Cincinnati Reds pitcher Trevor Bauer set up a giveaway after ESPN accidentally leaked his phone number during a broadcast of the Korean Baseball Organization.

While Bauer was live on FaceTime with ESPN for an interview, his number was visible at the top of the screen for just a couple of seconds, but that was all that fans and spectators needed.

Fortunately for ESPN, the pitcher decided to have some fun in light of the sticky situation. Bauer posted a screenshot of the interview to Twitter and said he would be giving away a pair of signed cleats and baseball over the next 48 hours. “The rules are in my voicemail!” the pitcher said.

After a few hours, Bauer posted an update, saying that his voicemail was full from fans attempting to win the two-day giveaway prizes. He then decided to take FaceTime requests from fans and allowed them to ask one question each.

The giveaway will end around 2:30 a.m. on Wednesday.

Major League Baseball is exploring the possibility of changing the current playoff format before the start of the 2022 seasonThe following changes have been proposed by MLB commissioner Rob Manfred, according to Sherman’s report:

  • Seven teams from each league make postseason
  • Teams with best record in each league get wild card round byes
  • Two other division winners and top wild card team host all games of three-game series in wild card round
  • Two other division winners get to pick their wild card round opponents (during a live broadcast) from three other wild card teams, the top wild card team plays the unpicked team
  • Three series winners and team with a bye advance to divisional round

Cincinnati Reds’ pitcher Trevor Bauer didn’t like the idea one bit and took to twitter to voice his frustration Monday.

Bauer also released a video detailing his reasons against the league’s proposal and claimed, “I’m really really upset about this new ridiculous playoff policy that Rob Manfred has suggested or proposed or leaked. I don’t even know how it got on the internet, I don’t even know why it would even get on the internet it’s that ridiculous.

He later commented about how time off could affect pitchers. “Who put this out without thinking of the fact that the best team in the league is gonna get a six-day layoff, a seven-day layoff,” Bauer said. “While we sort out this whole three games here and this wild card and we’re gonna pick our opponent and we’re gonna do this whole reality TV stuff.”

Bauer also voiced his frustrations over the MLB’s lack of innovation to address the declining viewership of professional baseball. “As the commissioner, figure it out man … how are we supposed to get them interested in the game when they can’t even see the damn game?” Bauer said. “And on top of that, they cant even go to Twitter, where all the young people hang out. Market the players. You have more players in baseball than any other league, with much more diverse backgrounds worldwide. … it’s the least marketable because you make stupid decisions about how you market the players. You don’t open it up. Let content go. Get it out there. Where’s the innovation in content? Where’s the next thing that’s going to draw fans in? … Who’s identifying with the young fans?”

He finished the video with a strong message directed at Manfred. “Hit me up. I’m sure you can contact me,” Bauer said. “I’m sure you’ll probably be fining me.”

Indians' Trevor Bauer Leaves Game 3 of ALCS vs Blue Jays with Injury

The Cleveland Indians pitcher Trevor Bauer has been in headlines regarding his request to be on the trading block, wanting to leave the Indians. The trade deadline is approaching at the end of July. With time running out, he may not have enough time to find a favorable deal for all parties.

Bauer was taken out of the game in the bottom of the fifth against the Kansas City Royals after Nicky Lopez grabbed two RBIs after his single hit. Bauer, frustrated, threw the baseball against the back netting behind the home plate and threw it over the center-field fence. He was benched the rest of the game.

“It was umbecoming, it was childish and unprofessional,” Bauer said, according to USA Today. “I want to be clear that my frustrations were with myself and my inability to stop the situation and keep my team in the game. I’m an intense competitor and that fire is what drives me. Today, it completely consumed me, took over. And I just want to say I’m sorry for how I behaved.”

Second baseman Mike Freeman was thrown off about the entire situation, and flinched when Bauer threw the ball in frustration. Oscar Mercado, the rookie center fielder, wasn’t looking when Bauer threw the ball, but when he saw it land, he turned around in question over what had just happened. Bauer apologized to his teammates at the end of the game.

“It’s hard to tell right now,” he said, according to ESPN. “Everyone’s emotions are high. I just wanted to talk to them, to let them know how I’m feeling and how I feel like I let them down both personally and professionally. Hopefully we can move past that.”

The Indians are in second place in the AL Central behind the Minnesota Twins, with a 62-43 record. The Indians are two games behind the Twins, and have won seven of their last 10 games.
