Seattle Seahawks backup quarterback Trevone Boykin was arrested early Monday morning in Dallas after a car he was a passenger in crashed into a bar and injured five people.

Seahawks QB Trevone Boykin Arrested After Car Crash In Dallas

According to FOX 4 in Dallas, police believe the driver of the car, 26-year-old Shabrika Baley, was drunk when she drove out of a parking garage and backed into the front of the Sidebar Bar at approximately 2 am CST.

The injured included the bartender and four people on the sidewalk. Three of them were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Boykin, 23, remains in custody as of Monday morning, and faces drug possession and public intoxication charges.

The quarterback signed with the Seahawks undrafted out of TCU in 2016. Shortly before he was drafted, Boykin assaulted a police officer during a bar fight after his senior year. He pled no contest to a charge of resisting arrest and was sentenced to a year of probation. Boykin was also suspended before the 2016 Alamo Bowl as a result.

Boykin, who signed a 3-year deal with the Seahawks in April 2016, appeared in six games as Russell Wilson’s backup, completing 13 of 18 passes for 145 yards, one touchdown and one interception.

Boykin’s arrest follows those of Chicago Bears cornerback Deiondre’ Hall and Green Bay Packers cornerback Makinton Dorleant, who were involved in an incident in Cedar Falls, Iowa early Sunday morning.

According to the Black Hawk County Sheriff’s Department, police saw a crowd fighting outside of Sharkey’s Funhouse around 1 am. Hall was allegedly in the middle of the crowd lacing profanity at the bar staff and patrons.

Police physically removed Hall from the crowd, and said he then refused to answer questions and cooperate, and even spat and yelled in their faces.

In their report, the police added that Hall allegedly resisted being handcuffed and refused to enter the backseat of their squad car. One officer even tasered the cornerback’s left leg in an effort to force him to cooperate.

Dorleant then intervened by attempting to grab Hall, despite the officers’ orders for him to get back.

Hall was charged wit interference, public intoxication, and disorderly conduct. Dorleant was charged with interference.

The two cornerbacks played football at Northern Iowa.

Late in the first quarter, TCU’s QB Trevone Boykin leaped over defenders and somersaulted into the end zone to score a touchdown vs. the West Virginia Mountaineers at home on Thursday night. The score put the TCU Horned Frogs up 14-0. West Virginia head coach Dana Holgorsen even high-fived Boykin after he was forced out of bounds on a scramble. Holgorsen’s first statement during his post-game comments was: “With all due respect to Corey Coleman, Trevone Boykin is the best player in college football.” The coach was referring to the Baylor Bears’ WR. Baylor (No. 2) defeated West Virginia 62-38 on Oct. 17, and Coleman caught 10 passes for 199 yards and three touchdowns.

The Horned Frogs, who are ranked fifth, won 40-10 Thursday night, which marked their 16th straight victory. Only Ohio State currently holds a higher winning record, with 21 consecutive victories. TCU’s record is now 8-0, and 5-0 in the Big 12 Conference. Boykin played a stellar game overall, with four touchdowns and 472 total yards. Coach Gary Patterson stated “I keep telling you just appreciate Trevone Boykin and Josh Doctson. They’re pretty special people.”

Boykin also broke TCU’s record for total offense with 12,041 yards. Cincinnati Bengals QB Andy Dalton held the previous record of 11,925 yards. The Frogs’ kicker Jaden Oberkrom also had a good game Thursday night: he scored four field goals, including a 57-yarder at the end of the first half, which put the Frogs up 23-10.

Frogs WR Josh Doctson stated about Boykin: “He’s just playing like a Heisman quarterback,” Doctson said. “Man, it’s crazy. I’m running around trying to see what he’s trying to do. Playing with him for three years, I kind of know which direction he’s going to go. Sometimes I go against the rules and just watch him and watch his eyes.”

One of Boykin’s greatest fans, a 7-year-old handicapped girl named Abby Faber, was also in attendance. Faber, who is an Iowa State fan, and her family were given a private jet by a TCU donor to fly in to the game. She was wearing Boykin’s No. 2 jersey, and got to meet the QB at the end of the game. Boykin knelt down and spoke to the girl in the wheelchair, and the photo quickly went viral. Faber also received a large ovation.
