President Donald Trump has spoken about Tiger Woods’ car crash.

The car crash is currently suspected to be because of Woods being under the influence. Trump was asked about the crash after he stepped out of Air Force One

“I feel so bad. He’s got some difficulty – there was an accident, and that’s all I know,” Trump said. “A very close friend of mine, he’s an amazing person, an amazing man. But some difficulty. I don’t want to talk about it.”

Trump has been friends with Woods for a long time. The two took a picture after Woods won the WGC-Cadillac Championship in 2013 at Trump National Doral in Florida. Trump gave Woods the Presidential Medal of Freedom in 2019. Woods is currently dating Donald Trump Jr.’s ex-wife, Vanessa

Woods’ car rolled over in Jupiter, Florida, at about 2 p.m. Woods took a Breathalyzer test, which came back negative. However, police reported that he looked visibly under the influence. Police asked him to take a urine test, which he refused. He was arrested for DUI and refusing to take a lawful test. His mugshot showed bloodshot eyes.

If Woods was driving under the influence, it wouldn’t be the first time. He was previously arrested in 2009 and 2017 for DUI. After his 2017 accident, he told reporters he would seek professional help.

For a while, it seemed like the substance abuse issues were behind Woods. However, in 2021, he got into a non-DUI-related crash. The injuries nearly killed him, and it took him over 15 months to fully recover.

Woods had to go back on pain medication after the accident. Although there were no reports of him falling back into substance abuse after his 2021 accident, a relapse is always possible.

Woods has pleaded not guilty to DUI charges.

Tiger Woods will step away from golf after his alleged DUI.

Woods was investigated by police after an accident in Jupiter, Florida, on March 27. Although he passed a Breathalyzer test, the police reported that he looked visibly intoxicated. They asked him to do a urine test, which he refused. He was arrested on suspicion of DUI and for refusing to do a lawful test.

On March 31, Woods finally spoke out about the incident.

“I am stepping away for a period of time to seek treatment and focus on my health,” Woods said. “This is necessary in order for me to prioritize my well-being and work toward lasting recovery.”

If Woods was driving under the influence, this wouldn’t be the first time. He was arrested in 2009 and 2017 for DUI. After the 2017 DUI, he told reporters he’d seek professional help.

For a while, it looked like Woods’ substance issues were behind him. However, in 2021, he was in a non-DUI-related accident. This accident nearly killed him, and it took him more than 15 months to fully recover.

Woods had to go back on pain medication to deal with his injuries. Although there are no reports of him abusing the pain medication, a relapse is always possible.

Before his official announcement, many people suspected Woods could step away from golf. Former golfer Brandel Chamblee urged Woods to retire from golf in a March 29 interview.

Woods’ post only implies a short-term absence. Woods had recently returned to golf after a two-year absence at the TGL indoor golf league finals. His last victory was in 2019. This gave him his 82nd career win, tying Sam Snead for the all-time record. The chase for the all-time record could be a big reason Woods wants to keep playing.

Retired golfer Brandel Chamblee urged Tiger Woods to retire after his DUI.

Woods was arrested in Jupiter, Florida, for driving under the influence. His car rolled over after a crash. Although his Breathalyzer test came back negative, police reported he showed signs of impairment. Woods was detained after refusing a urine test. He is also charged with refusing to submit to a lawful test.

Wood’s mugshot showed him with bloodshot eyes. If he were driving under the influence, it wouldn’t be the first time. He was arrested in 2009 and 2017 for accidents caused by being under the influence.

Woods has had a long, documented history of abusing pain medication. This is exactly why Chamblee believes that his continued playing career is putting Woods in danger.

“Those surgeries and injuries come along with prescribed pain medication,” Chamblee said. “And unless you’ve had your head in the sand for the last 20 to 30 years, you can connect the dots to the pain medication and the addiction to the pain medication.”

Woods told reporters that he was going to seek professional help for his addiction after his 2017 accident. However, a non-DUI accident in 2021 forced him back on the painkillers. The injuries nearly killed him, and it took him 15 months to fully recover.

Although there were no reports of Woods dealing with addiction in recent years, relapses are always possible.

Woods’ last match was in the 2024 Open Championship at Royal Troon. He missed the cut for the event. His last PGA Tour victory was in the ZOZO Championship in 2019. This gave him 82 career victories, tying him for the all-time record.

The chase for the all-time record could be a major reason Woods is trying to get back on the golf course. Along with that, his son, Charlie, has recently started his college career after committing to Florida State.

Charlie Woods, 16, won’t be playing in the U.S. Open this year.

Woods shot three-over-par 75 at Wellington Golf Club in Florida last Thursday, seven strokes over the qualifying score of 68. While he missed out for the second consecutive year, he did improve from his previous year’s total of 9-over 81 at The Legacy Golf & Tennis Club.

Following his failure to qualify in 2024, Woods was able to qualify for the U.S. Junior Amateur, although he missed the cut there by 18 strokes.

He was one of 10,202 entries for the U.S. Open, which is scheduled for June 12-15 at Oakmont Country Club in Pennsylvania. And he’s not the only Woods to be missing out his father and three-time U.S. Open winner, Tiger, announced in March that he had ruptured his Achilles tendon while training.

Charlie has been following in his father’s footsteps from a young age. He and Tiger have competed as a father-son duo at the PNC Championships four times, in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2024, finishing as high as second place.

While neither Woods will be playing in the U.S. Open this year, their story is far from over.

MELBOURNE, AUSTRALIA - DECEMBER 15: Playing Captain Tiger Woods and the United States team celebrate with the cup after they defeated the International team 16-14 during Sunday Singles matches on day four of the 2019 Presidents Cup at Royal Melbourne Golf Course on December 15, 2019 in Melbourne, Australia.

Tiger Woods’ amazing season came to an end on Friday, missing the cut for the sixth time in the past seven majors at The Open.

Woods carded a six-over 77 in round two at Royal Troon Golf Club, leaving him with a total 14-over 156 with the projected line cut being four over. The 15-time major champion finished tied with Ryan van Velzen for 149th place out of 153. Following the completion of round two, Denwit BoriboonsubJustin LeonardWyndham Clark and Todd Hamilton are notable names who finished below Woods.

“Well, it wasn’t very good,” Woods remarked. “I never really hit it close enough to make birdies and consequently made a lot of bogeys.” The 48-year-old added that he intends to compete in the PNC Championship in December while his next outing will be at the Hero World Challenge in Nassau, Bahamas.

Prior to Friday’s exit, the last time Woods finished 14-over par  was in 2015 – he didn’t make the weekend at the U.S. Open, British Open and PGA Championship. The three-time British Open champion kicked Friday off with a par on the first hole, but things turned south when Woods got a double bogey on the second hole. Je finished the round six-over.

“I’ve won two Open Championships here in Scotland, so I’ve always enjoyed playing up here,” Woods said. “I remember playing here way back in ’97. I’ve had some good memories here. I just wish I’d done a bit better.”

Fans are debating Woods’ future on the golf course after his embarrassing exit from Royal Troon. During a segment on Unsportsmanlike Radio, host Freddie Coleman said that “yesterday was one of the situations I don’t mind seeing Tiger on the golf course, but I don’t want to see him struggle like that.”

Charlie Woods, son of golfing legend Tiger Woods, qualified for his first USGA Tournament on Wednesday. The 15-year-old had the best qualifying score ahead of the U.S. Junior Amateur next month.

“I didn’t play great my first two holes, but I played really good for the last 16,” Woods told reporters. “I just told myself not to make any more bogeys or doubles, and I took advantage of some nice birdie looks when I had them.”

Woods has been in the public eye since his earliest days playing golf. At the 2024 Masters, he served as his father’s swing coach, likely an honorary title but a lofty one for the young man. As the son of one of the sport’s legends, he has remained in the back of fans’ minds for a long time as he makes his way through the amateur levels of the sport. At 15, he seems to be well on his way.

On Wednesday at Eagle Trace Golf Club in Coral Springs, Florida, Woods overcame a rocky start to finish 1-under 71 and qualify for his first Junior Amateur. Tiger Woods qualified for his first Junior Amateur at 14 and went on to win the event three times before turning 19.

The U.S. Junior Amateur has produced countless PGA players since it was first held in 1948. Tiger Woods stands out as the only three-time winner, but Jordan Spieth won the event twice in 2009 and 2011, while Scottie Scheffler won in 2013.

For Charlie, winning an event of this caliber should not necessarily be the expectation, though he has stated that that is his intention. His USGA debut will likely represent another step on a path that many fans hope will lead to a highly successful career in the sport. These are very early days yet.

Tiger Woods, 48, is grappling with a series of setbacks in his golf career but finds solace and hope in his 15-year-old son, Charlie Axel Woods. Woods is reportedly “frustrated” with his current form but sees potential in Charlie to carry on his legacy.

Woods’ struggles were evident when he missed the cut at the PGA Championship earlier this month. “It’s setback after setback for him, and it’s really weighing heavily on him,” a friend told The New York Post. “He’s really frustrated as he figures out how to come back.”

The legendary golfer has faced a challenging year, crashing out of the Genesis Invitational in February and struggling at the Masters in April. Ongoing health issues have further complicated his efforts to regain his former prowess.

Despite these personal challenges, Woods is cautious not to impose undue pressure on Charlie, who is carving his own path in the sport. This week, Charlie is competing in the Adam Scott Junior Championship in Lake Worth, Florida, a prestigious event featuring top junior golfers from the American Junior Golf Association (AJGA).

“It’s almost funny to watch Tiger sometimes,” said the insider. “He gets so excited watching. If there’s a bad shot, he’ll wince. But he holds his tongue a lot; his dad was legendary but pushed Tiger maybe too much. Tiger wants to be a balance of pushing, but also supporting and nurturing.”

Woods is intent on fostering a supportive environment for Charlie and avoiding the intense pressure his own father, Earl Woods, exerted on him.

Woods admitted to reporters that his game was not up to par at Valhalla during the PGA Championship. “It was a great week being here at Valhalla, but unfortunately, my scores did not indicate how the people treated me and how great a week I had,” Woods said. “Unfortunately, I hit too many shots.”

Woods’ next professional appearance is slated for the U.S. Open at Pinehurst No.2, his first at the tournament since 2020. Woods remains determined to end his career on a high note despite his recent struggles.

Meanwhile, the golfing world watches Charlie closely, recognizing the immense expectations placed on his young shoulders.

As Woods navigates his career, he continues mentoring Charlie, hoping his son will carry forward the family’s golfing legacy with support and encouragement.

The son of the most famous golfer in the world has yet to be quite ready for the big stage.

Charlie Woods failed to qualify for the 2024 U.S. Open and play alongside his father, Tiger Woods. He shot an 81 in the U.S. Open local qualifier at The Legacy Golf & Tennis Club in Port St. Lucie, Florida. However, that score placed him only tied for 61st out of 74 participants, falling well short of the top five placement needed to advance to the final qualifying round, which is held on May 20.

Charlie, 15, had a similar scenario where he had a chance to play alongside his father earlier this year. In February, he participated in a Cognizant Classic qualifier at Lost Lake Golf Club in Hobe Sound, Florida. He also failed to advance, shooting a round-of-16 over-par 86. Charlie has yet to play a major tournament with his father, who is tied for first all-time in PGA Tour wins.

Charlie following in his father’s footsteps on the golf course is hardly surprising. He and his sister, Sam, were caddying for Tiger at a Masters contest back in 2015 and were also present for their father’s induction into the Golf Hall of Fame in 2022. From a very young age, Charlie has been submerged in the golf world, and that extends to the three appearances he has made with Tiger at the PNC Championships in 2020, 2021 and 2022. While the tournament is unofficial, it showcases golfers with their children and often can foreshadow the youngsters later on attempting a professional career themselves, much like Charlie has.

The 2024 U.S. Open will be held at Pinehurst Resort in North Carolina from June 13 to 16. While Charlie won’t be playing, his father will look to add to his unbelievable career spanning over 25 years.

Tiger Woods posted his lowest-ever round at the Masters on Saturday after cutting by five strokes on Friday. At +1, there was still hope that Tiger could pull off another historical major win against all odds on the weekend, but a ten-over 82 put him at +11 and out of contention heading into the final round.

2022 Masters Champion Scottie Scheffler held a one-stroke lead heading into the final round and held on for his second career masters championship. After the round, defending masters champion Jon Rahm slipped Scheffler into the green jacket, just as Scheffler had done for Rahm when Rahm won in 2023.

Scheffler finished at -11, and Woods finished at +16, the lowest and highest scores that made it through the final round. Woods made a record-breaking 24th consecutive cut at the Masters after playing 23 holes on Friday because of a round suspension on Thursday due to darkness. Rahm finished in a tie for 45th position at +9 overall.

Woods told reporters that he was still suffering from the leg injuries he sustained from his car accident in 2021 and that Friday’s 23 holes had tired him out physically, not to mention his fused back that he has been swinging with ever since.

“I was not hitting it very good or putting well … Just hit the ball in all the places that I know I shouldn’t hit it. And I missed a lot of putts. Easy, makable putts,” he said.

Before the tournament began, the certainty of Scheffler winning was only theoretical. The Masters had brought some of the greatest comebacks and unlikely stories to the PGA, and for a world number one to win multiple majors is something only Woods had done in PGA history.

“I think his superpower is people that are super powerful are good at everything,” Scheffler’s caddie, Ted Scott, said. “And he seems to be good at everything. He doesn’t really have a weakness.”

“I feel like I’m playing really good golf right now,” Scheffler said. “I feel like I’m as in control of my emotions as I’ve ever been, which is a good place to be. I feel like I’m maturing as a person on the golf course, which is a good place to be.”

Scheffler will want to be more mature once he becomes a father with his wife, Meredith Scheffler, who is due with their child any day now. Scheffler’s life will change dramatically, but that doesn’t mean he won’t stop competing in professional golf.

“Golf will probably now be fourth in line,” Scheffler said of his priorities. “But I still love competing, and I don’t plan on taking my eye off the ball anytime soon.”

International soccer star Cristiano Ronaldo confirmed on Dec. 30 that he was signing with Al-Nassr FC, a Saudi Pro League team, for $200 million per year through 2025. The Portuguese forward signed with the team after an underwhelming showing in the World Cup and a months-long feud with Manchester United.

Ronaldo is the latest prominent athlete to join the growing world of Saudi Arabian sports. Most organizations in the country are directly or indirectly controlled by the Saudi government, which has begun offering athletes massive sums of money in an attempt to gain more international recognition. Many Western commentators have given this practice a name: “Saudi-washing.”

From a geopolitical standpoint, critics of Saudi Arabia’s recent athletic ventures argue that the nation is attempting to overcome its history of human rights violations and other totalitarian transgressions by tying its reputation to beloved sports figures and brands. For athletes who receive an offer, however, the debate is more personal. The unprecedented contracts come with obvious strings attached.

Before Ronaldo left his European career behind and accepted the Saudis’ eye-watering proposition, there’s one person who could have given him some direction.

When the Kingdom came to this person, he declined. He’s grappled with the triumphs and trials of greatness. He’s made mistakes. He’s had ego problems. He’s old now. But when it came to his sport, he understood what his name meant and knew what he wanted to stand for.

No one is saying that Tiger Woods is a moral authority. His controversies over the years are exhaustively well-documented. But there’s a distinct overlap between the legendary golfer and Ronaldo.

Both are undeniable stars, athletes so recognizable that they’ve transcended their sports. People don’t have to watch the Premier League or the Masters to know Ronaldo or Woods. They’re the sort of individuals that Saudi Arabia is looking for — and they were more than willing to pay.

In June, reports emerged that Woods declined a deal worth $700-800 million to compete in LIV Golf, the new Saudi Arabian rival of the PGA Tour. He wasn’t the only one to turn them down, but no one else received his offer either. Phil Mickelson signed for $200 million. For Woods, the decision came down to loyalty and an understanding of his self-worth.

By the time LIV came to Woods, he was at a point in his career where he no longer had a need or desire to play golf full-time. As one of the few billionaires in sports, money wasn’t enough of a motivating factor. His values were more important.

By denying the Saudi organization, Woods wasn’t attempting to make a political statement or moral stand against tyranny, though those motivations could have played a minor part. His primary objective was to establish that he was more interested in competition than money, and that the best players competed in PGA Tour events. It was an act of loyalty to an organization he has spent his entire career in.

Some of Woods’ reasonings may have swayed Ronaldo and others probably would not have. Woods plays in an individual sport while Ronaldo was in the midst of a dispute with his Premier League club. He had more reasons to leave the team from a competitive standpoint.

But in terms of money, Ronaldo is in a nearly identical position to Woods, and has made enough as a professional and international player to last several lifetimes. More importantly, however, Ronaldo is as indistinguishable from modern European soccer as Woods is to the PGA Tour.

Even if he wanted to leave Manchester United, remaining in one of the European leagues could have firmly established Ronaldo’s belief in the competitive spirit of soccer within the continent. Instead, he left in what could easily be construed as an attempt to validate his own self-worth.

At the tail end of his full-time career, Woods overcame injuries from a car accident and a tattered reputation to win the 2019 Masters at astronomical odds. He beat the very best players to do it. At the back end of his own career, Ronaldo is making the decision to become the highest-paid soccer player on the planet. His old foes will be a world away.

Representing Portugal at the World Cup, Ronaldo sat on the bench and later at home while Lionel Messi and Kylian Mbappe ran the table and faced off in the final. After the tournament, Messi turned down a record-breaking offer to play in MLS in the United States, instead agreeing to enter extension negotiations with Paris Saint-Germain. At age 35, he’s proven that he can still compete at the highest level, and he wants more time in Ligue 1. What does that tell you?

Of all the sights and sounds seen and heard Thursday at Augusta National on Day 1 of the Masters, only one truly mattered: Tiger Woods mashing golf balls.

We now know which way the game-time decision went.

It was a refreshing scene, as inarguably the world’s most famous golfer almost lost his leg in a serious car accident in early 2021. The five-time Masters champion, who had rods and screws inserted into his right leg after the crash, finished -1 at 71. His scorecard had three birdies and two bogeys, and what it doesn’t show, though, is the 30-footer for birdie on 16.

“If you would have seen how my leg looked to where it’s at now—to get from there to here, it was no easy task,” said Woods, who last won the Masters in 2019.

“Just the fact that, one, he’s alive, considering what that accident was about,” fellow golfer Zach Johnson said. “Two, that he’s made a comeback to this point to be able to compete, it’s phenomenal. Now, it’s also a situation where you’re talking about an individual that, I mean, are we really that surprised? He’s the best player I’ve ever played with, and I say that in all aspects. He is the best competitor I’ve ever witnessed.”

Sungjae Im, who placed second at the 2020 Masters, came out as the first-round leader at 5-under, with Cameron Smith second at 68.

“At the beginning I noticed that there was a lot of people,” said Joaquin Niemann, one of Woods’ Thursday partners. “But then I was trying to talk to my caddie, and I couldn’t hear anything that he was saying.”

“This is only one round,” Woods said. “We’ve got three more to go.”

“I will be heading up to Augusta today to continue my preparation and practice,” he tweeted on Sunday. “It will be a game-time decision on whether I compete. Congratulations to 16-year-old Anna Davis on an amazing win at the @anwagolf and good luck to all the kids in the @DriveChipPutt.”

Woods indeed arrived on Sunday and had a practice round. He’s on the pre-tournament interview schedule for 11 a.m. Tuesday.

Woods has not played in a tournament since suffering a serious injury to his right leg in a February 2021 car accident. His last official event was the 2020 Masters, which was pushed to November due to COVID-19.

There’s no better story this week than Tiger Woods‘ return to the golf course at the PNC Championship in Orlando with his 12-year-old son, Charlie Woods. The PNC Championship provides the chance for 20 Major Champions to team up with a member of their family to play golf.

Charlie proved to be the spitting image of his famous father both in looks and in mannerisms. Both wore Woods’ signature red polo and Charlie even has down the signature club twirl.

When Woods got into a bad car crash last February, there was no guarantee he would play golf again.

“The fact that I’m able to have this opportunity this year, even a couple of weeks ago we didn’t really know whether or not I would be doing this, but here we are,” Woods said. “And we had just the best time ever, and I just wish I could have walked down the fairways with him and been side by side with him the entire time like we were last year.”

Woods and Charlie came in second, just two shots behind John Daly and his son, John Daly II, who is a freshman on the University of Arkansas golf team.

Team Woods combined to shoot 15-under 57, including 11 consecutive birdies, an eagle and four pars.

Woods has not put a timeline on his return to the PGA Tour.

“I like competing,” Woods said. “I’m not going to play a full schedule ever again. I’m going to have to pick and choose what events, and even then, my body might not cooperate with that. So I don’t know how many events I’m going to be playing in. And it’s going to be up to training sessions, practice sessions, recovery tactics, all those different things to be able to do this again because it didn’t look good there for a while about it.”

Colin Morikawa won his second major at the British Open 2021, notably beating three other former major winners: Jordan SpiethLouis Oosthuizen and Jon Rahm. This win came in Morikawa’s first-ever trip to this golf tournament, the oldest tournament in the world.

This major has the oldest average age for a champion over the last decade, but the young Morikawa did not seem phased. Over the last 30 holes, Morikawa capitalized with eight birdies and not a single bogey.

Morikawa is known as one of the best iron players in the world, despite still only being 24 years old. He hit 75% of greens in regulation.

Morikawa never pulled away by a comfortable margin as Spieth was always right behind him. Despite this pressure, Morikawa was able to sink impressive puts on holes 10, 14 and 15 in the final round.

“Everything about my stats say I’m not a good putter statistically. I feel like I can get a lot better. But in these situations, I feel like everything is thrown off the table. Forget about all your stats, who can perform well in these situations. That’s why I think, over the past few majors, you’ve seen a lot of the same names up there because they believe in their game, they know what they’re doing when they practice, and they’re able to bring it out in these big moments,” said Morikawa about his clutch shots on the green.

Spieth commended Morikawa on his ability to handle the big moments. “I think what’s interesting with Collin, too … his other wins had come with little to no crowds … and then some with modified crowds. Then you step into 35,000 and holding a lead down the stretch, I think is really impressive considering that’s not only his first Open Championship, but given the timing of when he’s been out here,” Spieth said. “He spent a year, year and a half of that in essentially a crowd-less environment, and this is harder. It’s harder with big crowds. You feel it more. You know where you are. It’s a bigger stage. I think that’s impressive.”

Morikawa has been remarkably impressive in what is just the mere beginning of his career. Morikawa has reached several milestones such as becoming just the fourth American to win The Open before the age of 25, joining Spieth, Bobby Jones and Tiger Woods.

Morikawa has received high praise and little criticism. His innocent manner and kid-like enthusiasm have earned him plenty of support. Morikawa’s youth is visible in his aggressive swing and style and he never seems to second guess himself.

Morikawa discussed his immediate pro success: “I think when you make history — and I’m 24 years old — it’s hard to grasp, and it’s hard to really take it in. At 24 years old, it’s so hard to look back at the two short years that I have been a pro and see what I’ve done because I want more. I enjoy these moments and I love it, and I want to teach myself to embrace it a little more, maybe spend a few extra days and sit back and drink out of this jug.”

“I just want more. When you’re in these moments and you truly love what you do, which I love playing golf and competing against these guys, these are the best moments ever because the nerves push you to just be a better person.”

Phil Mickelson Calls Out Ryan Ruffels

On Sunday, Phil Mickelson won the PGA Championship to become the oldest player ever to win a major championship. Furthermore, he also becomes the fourth golfer in PGA Tour history to win in four different decades. That is a feat no other player has accomplished in the other major sports.

After winning, the 50-year-old spent his celebration by responding to people all over social media. Amongst the people who congratulated him were none other than active NFL legend Tom Brady. Last year, the two paired up in a match against Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning. However, the duo was unable to defeat Woods and Manning.

Following Mickelson’s win, Brady tweeted out to the golfer with the words, “That’s my quarterback!!! LFG.”

“We have some unfinished business,” Mickelson wrote in response. “Let’s get another match and find a pair to give a beat down.”

It certainly looks like the golfer is ready to run it back with Brady and find another pair to face in a gold match. While they could look for a pair, someone else is willing to face the two. A familiar name that Brady knows too well chimed in it was none other than Eli Manning. “I’m free,” wrote the New York Giants legend.

The younger Manning has beaten Brady twice in their Super Bowl matchups, so it will be interesting if they face one another in a golfing game.

Although Tiger Woods’ horrifying car accident that nearly took his own life was a mere two months ago, he’s already being potentially recruited for the Ryder cup in September, as an assistant. Captain Steve Stricker said on Wednesday that he’s approached Woods regarding this role. “I’ve talked to [Woods]. I don’t know if we are there yet to commit to him being there,” Stricker said, per ESPN’s Bob Harig. “He’s still got a lot going on, and his spirits are great, though, as of late. We were on a Zoom call with him just last week, and he seems like he’s in a better place. He’s still got some ways to go.”

Woods is at home, still recovering from the horrible accident in February, but he’s making excellent progress, and quickly. Woods suffered multiple fractures to his right leg as well as foot and ankle injuries in the single-vehicle crash. A next step is on the horizon, according to George Savaricas of the Golf Channel. “Have a Tiger Woods injury update, hearing TW at the point in the healing process where the next benchmark is for blood circulation to get back to normal in his injured right foot. Once this happens recovery timelines will fall into place, currently in ‘wait and see’ mode,” he tweeted on Monday morning.

Woods has experience in the assistant’s role, especially with Stricker. The two worked together in the 2017 president cup. The other assistants as of now, are Davis Love III, Zach Johnson and Jim Furyk. The event will be held at Whistling Straits in Wisconsin as the U.S. team eyes just its second Ryder Cup title since 2010.

Hideki Matsuyama made history on Sunday after winning his first major title. Matsuyama became the first Japanese man to win a major and the first Asian-born to win the Masters.

Matsuyama, 29, finished with a 1-over 73 for a 1-shot victory to clinch the prestigious Master’s championship. The Japanese golfer bested a close challenge in both Xander Schauffele and rookie Will Zalatoris.

Matsuyama built a six-shot lead near the end of the tournament before Schauffele made a late run. On a four-shot lead, Matsuyama went for the green in two on the par-5 15th, and the ball bounced off the back slope and into the pond on the 16th hole. The golfer was able to walk away with a bogey.

Schauffele managed to get four straight birdies to trim Matsuyama’s lead to just two with three to play. Unfortunately, Schauffele’s next shot ended his chance to trim the lead and pass Matsuyama. Shauffele’s next tee shot on the par-3 16th bounced off the hill and dribbled into the pond. The third shot ended up in the gallery, and Shauffele ended with a triple bogey. Schauffele ended up tied for third place.

Rookie Zalatoris was the closest to the Japanese golfer. The 24-year-old managed to finish with a 70 after he holed an 18-foot par putt on the last hole. Zalatoris ended second place in the tournament.

“I’m really happy,” Matsuyama said before Dustin Johnson helped him put on the green jacket. “Hopefully, I’ll be a pioneer, and many other Japanese will follow.”

PGA legend golfer Tiger Woods congratulated the Japanese golfer for his victory. “Making Japan proud Hideki,” Woods wrote. “Congratulations on such a huge accomplishment for you and your country.”

Tiger Woods was speeding 40 mph faster than the legal speeding limit before he crashed his SUV in late February. The Los Angeles County Sheriff Alex Villanueva revealed more details about the crash and what led to it.

In an early Wednesday news conference, Villanueva told reporters that Woods was driving between 84 and 87 mph in a 45 mph zone. Woods’ sports utility vehicle was going an estimated 75 mph when it crashed into a tree and began rolling over.

“The primary causal factor for the collision was driving at an unsafe speed for the road conditions and being unable to negotiate the curve,” said Villanueva. The police added that Woods continued to accelerate and did not hit the breaks before he crashed. Police believed that he may have inadvertently hit the acceleration instead of the breaks before the crash.

Furthermore, no charges will be filed against the legendary golfer. “Woods was not cited for driving too fast, and no criminal charges will be filed,” Villanueva said.

The police added that the 45-year-old golfer was not impaired or intoxicated at the time of the crash. In addition, police said that the golfer was wearing his seatbelt.

The county sheriff denied claims that the police had given the golfer preferable treatment. ″I know there are some saying that somehow he received a special or preferential treatment any, any of some kind, that is absolutely false,” the sheriff said.

The golfer was alone when his SUV crashed and rolled over. Woods was trapped inside his car and had to be extracted by emergency medical services. The golfer was taken to the hospital and had to undergo emergency surgery on his lower right leg for significant orthopedic injuries.

Woods has no recollection of the crash.

Tiger Woods is making his return to the realm of video games.

On Tuesday, Woods and 2K Games announced a new long-term deal to become a part of the PGA Tour 2K video game franchise. This ends Woods’ eight year hiatus from sports video games. Woods was once the face of EA Sports with the Tiger Woods PGA Tour franchise, one of the most successful sports video games ever, and had a partnership with EA which lasted 15 years, until 2013.

This deal comes just less than a month after Woods’ single car crash in the Los Angeles Suburbs, which led to serious leg injuries which required surgery. Woods is now back in his South Florida home, where he will continue his recovery.

The move comes as another opportunity for 2K Games to extend its empire in the world of sports video games. 2K already owns one of the most successful sports franchises in NBA 2K, and while it generally loses in the realm of football games to EA’s Madden series, Woods’ support of PGA Tour will certainly give them a leg up in golf gaming. With uncertainty surrounding Woods’ ability to return to the golf course and compete in the PGA, this partnership serves as a bright spot for both sides.

The case regarding Tiger Woods‘ car crash has just taken another turn.

On Monday, the Los Angeles County Sheriff’s Department used a warrant to search the black box of Woods’ SUV. The black box holds data on the car that the department believes may help them in the investigation.

Woods was involved in a single-car crash in Los Angeles on February 23, leading to serious injury to his lower right leg and ankle. He was first hospitalized at the Harbor-UCLA Medical Center, where he received several hours of surgery before being moved to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. He is still recovering, but investigators are now interested in whether the crash had any criminal implications. In order to receive a search warrant, the Sheriff’s Department needed probable cause that a crime may have occurred. The department believes that the data held in the black box of Woods’ SUV may indicate whether reckless driving or some other criminal activity was occurring at the time of the crash. Black box data can provide multiple statistics from the time of the crash, including speed, acceleration, steering angle, and braking of the car. A public report has yet to be issued regarding the findings from the warrant.

Despite executing the warrant, the department stated last week that they believe that the crash was most likely an accident, which at most could be a misdemeanor, and thus would not be pressing charges against Woods. Nevertheless, the investigation is still ongoing, and while most of the world is hoping for Woods’ speedy recovery, the department will continue to see if there was any foul play.
