Peyton Manning’s son, Marshall Manning, is the quarterback at Baylor School in Chattanooga, Tennessee, and he made his debut on ESPN’s high school football kickoff.

With football returning, people across the country are eager for whatever they can get their hands on, and ESPN’s high school kickoff is just for that. Ears will have perked up as the name “Manning” was said across the airwaves.

Marshall completed his first pass of high school on national television to receiver Cornbread Adams.

Peyton has been retired from the NFL for over 10 years now, and his son has just started his high school career at the private college prep school.

Marshall following in his father’s footsteps would surprise no one, as the Mannings have a rich football history. Peyton’s brother, Eli Manning, won two Super Bowls. Their dad, Archie Manning, was also a star college quarterback. He won the SEC Player of the Year award in 1969 while playing for Ole Miss. The Manning family football dynasty doesn’t end there either, as one of the current Heisman favorites is Arch Manning, the son of Peyton and Eli’s brother, Cooper Manning.

Unfortunately for Marshall, no matter how unjust, he has large shoes to fill. The last name Manning comes with great football genes, but also a lot of spotlight. Even though Marshall is only a freshman, he has been hyped up for years just like Arch, and Arch has handled that situation fairly well so far.

He wasn’t the only story of the night, as David Gabriel Georges is Baylor’s running back and arguably one of the best high school running backs in the country. He is the number one running back in Tennessee. He had quite a game, scoring three touchdowns and finishing with 250 yards. Gabriel Georges would have been the headline, if not for how popular the last name Manning is in football.

For the first time in 10 years, we have two different Mannings playing football on ESPN. The dynasty lives on, and we could potentially have two Mannings in the NFL 10 years from now.

Tom Brady received a hero’s sendoff—and rightfully so—in February when he announced his retirement from the NFL. Well, now that the seven-time Super Bowl winner reneged and plans to suit up again one familiar face wants justice.

“I want the letter back,” Hall of Fame quarterback Peyton Manning said. “You got to read all these nice things, I want it back. I want the bottle of wine back, too.”

Manning, Brady’s longtime rival, is known for his sense of humor—in addition to throwing a tight spiral, of course. So it’s safe to assume he was joking here. Plus, the laughter after he said it is a dead giveaway.

The comments came Saturday at an event hosted by The MINT Collective. Manning said that he wrote Brady a two-page letter following the fugazi retirement and paired it with the bottle of wine.

It’s unclear if Manning will pen another letter and send another bottle of vino once the 44-year-old’s career actually ends.

Peyton Manning is interested in becoming a part-owner of his former team, the Denver Broncos. The Broncos, currently owned by the estate of Pat Bowlen, has been valued at up to $3 billion. The team could be sold as early as this spring.

“People are obviously interested, they’re curious,” Manning said when asked about NFL ownership earlier this season. “I care because I live here and I go to the games, and I want to know what’s going to happen like everyone else. But I have no relationship or agreement with anybody. . . . Even if I’m offered an opportunity, I haven’t decided if I would even do it. I actually like what I’m doing now. I get to stay close to the game. . . . I get to coach [my son] Marshall’s flag football team, I went to a doubleheader softball game to see [my daughter] Mosley play. I’m just taking everything on a one year at a time basis, next year who knows how I’ll feel. . . . But I’ll always be a part of the Broncos, I’ll say that.”

Reports are that Manning has been in conversation with potential ownership groups and that he would want to be a part of management as well. If negotiations start at the end of the season, and a vote can be finalized at league meetings in March, a new owner could be in place by October.

By the time Manning got to the Broncos, he was a future Hall of Famer looking to cement his legacy. He joined the team in 2012. While a member of the Broncos, he was the 2012 league MVP, set the most passing touchdowns on a season record at 55 and retired after their Super Bowl win in 2015.

Manning and his family have lived in Denver since his retirement.

Records are meant to be broken. Isn’t that how the saying goes? When Peyton Manning retired in 2016, he was asked about his records. At the time, he felt most of his records would be broken, except one – the most touchdowns by a quarterback-receiver duo. Manning and Marvin Harrison teamed up for 114 touchdowns during their 11-year together as Indianapolis Colts.

Now Tom Brady and Rob Gronkowski are within striking distance. As teammates on both the New England Patriots and now the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, they have 104 touchdowns going into Week 14 of the NFL season.

The Manning-Brady rivalry may be up there for greatest rivalries of all time, with the two facing off 17 times. Brady won 11 of those games compared to Manning’s six wins. Brady may deal Manning another “L” with this record as he and Gronkowski could reasonably score 11 more touchdowns this season with five games and the playoffs remaining – especially if they keep up their current pace. Gronkowski has scored six touchdowns in seven games.

While the all-time record seems feasible, it may not be so easy to break Manning and Harrison’s regular season record. Brady and Gronkowski would need 22 touchdowns to do that. It all depends on how long each of them decides to continue playing. Brady, 44, is showing no signs of slowing down, and Gronkowski’s brother has publicly said that he believes Gronkowski will continue playing as long as Brady does. Brady’s contract runs through the 2022 season, which he has made clear he intends on playing out. Even if he wins another Super Bowl this year, he will most likely try to get into the record books again, this time doing what no other NFL player has ever done, and go for a three-peat.

On Monday, the Super Bowl XLVIII running back Marshawn Lynch appeared on Monday Night Football alongside hosts Peyton and Eli Manning. Lynch revealed that he would not come back to play in the NFL, even if he was asked by Tom Brady’s Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

During Lynch’s career, the 35-year-old was frequently in the headlines – most of the time for his powerful running and untouchable speed but sometimes for his larger-than-life personality and media antics. On Monday Night Football, he did not fail to be the most entertaining person on the T.V. screen.

For example, early on in the show, Lynch was asked about a certain pre-game ritual. Eli asked, “I learned that before games you had a pre-game ritual where you would do a shot and a half of Hennessy before the game. Did you do anything to get warmed up tonight?” Lynch jokingly replied in a way that excited fans for what was to come for the rest of the episode. “Well, I’m not playin’, so I had a three-shot minimum today. So I’m feeling real good. I took one for me, I took one for big bro, and I have one for little bro,” he said.

While the three did briefly discuss Lynch’s affinity for eating Skittles on the sidelines during his games – a habit that the three jokingly attributed to his edge over the competition – they also discussed some serious topics. Lynch, nicknamed “Beast Mode,” was asked how he learned to run with such raw power that would result in other players bouncing off of him. He was also asked if he would want to return to the NFL.

Peyton asked, “Marshawn if the Tampa Bay Bucs offered you a contract tomorrow, would you come back and play?”

Lynch then squashed the hopes of many “Beast Mode” fans and emphasized that he is happy where he is. “As much as I would love to go line it up with TB (Tom Brady), I’m satisfied where I’m at,” he said.

Lynch briefly retired after a fruitful career with the Seattle Seahawks in 2016 and then came back for three more seasons and retired again in 2019. Lynch is a five-time Pro Bowler, as well as earning a first-team All-Pro accolade and a Super Bowl championship.

Tom Brady is set to enter the world of nonfungible tokens with his own autograph card. Lately, the non-fungible tokens have risen in popularity and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers quarterback will look to take part in it.

DraftKings Marketplace will be the home of Brady’s new autograph platform, which is now live. Autograph will be releasing Brady’s first preseason pass collection on Wednesday. The platform, which is co-chaired by Brady and entrepreneur Richard Rosenblatt, is giving similar treatment to NFTs from athletes such as Derek Jeter, Wayne Gretzky, Tony Hawk, and others.

“NFTs bring an entirely new dimension to the collector experience, and I cannot wait for people to discover and engage with this first-ever drop of Autograph’s official digital collectibles,” Brady said in a press release. ”We created Autograph as a way for fans and collectors to own a piece of iconic moments in sports and entertainment through authenticated and official digital collectibles, and we are just getting started!”

Created in 2014, NFTs serve as digital assets of unique items that are online and cannot be duplicated or copied. They are more or less digital trading cards, and they can be autographs, pieces of art, sound clips or video highlights. Because it’s completely digital, they don’t run the risk of damage and are easily authenticated.

Brady is one of several NFL stars involved with NFTs. Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes sold $3.4 million in NFTs in one night back in March. Brady’s long-time teammate Rob Gronkowski’s NFT trading card collection on OpenSea sold for $1.2 million. Peyton and Eli Manning created their own line on MakersPlace called the “Manning Legacy Collection.”

Peyton Manning, one of the most decorated football players of all time, was officially inducted into the Hall of Fame over the weekend.

Manning was the headliner of the 2021 Hall of Fame Class and was selected in his first year of eligibility. He played on two Super Bowl-winning teams, is a five-time MVP, a 14-time Pro Bowl selection, Offensive Rookie of the Year and Comeback Player of the Year.

Manning was drafted by the Indianapolis Colts in 1998 and spent 14 seasons with the team. Manning made the Colts playoff contenders and led them to a Super Bowl XLI win, earning him MVP honors. In his induction speech, Manning made sure to thank the organization for everything they did for him and how proud he was to be part of the team.

“To Jim Irsay and the Indianapolis Colts organization, my gratitude is off the charts,” Manning said “You drafted me in 1998 and it was a joy and a privilege to represent the Horseshoe.”

After 14 seasons with the Colts, Manning signed with the Denver Broncos in 2012. He spent his final four years leading Denver to a total of 50 wins and four consecutive AFC West division titles. Mannings’ final season saw him lead the Broncos to a Super Bowl 50 win in the final game of his career. Manning retired with numerous single-season and career records, including his 5,477 yards passing and 55 touchdowns in 2013.

The quarterback also made sure to thank the Broncos for signing him. “To Pat Bowling, the Bowling family, and the Denver Broncos organization, you took a chance on me at a crucial moment in my career, and I will never forget it. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”

Manning showcased his lightheartedness in his speech by poking fun at his rival/friend Tom Brady.

“My good friend Tom Brady is here tonight,” he said as Brady was met with a loud chorus of boos. “By the time Tom Brady is inducted in his first year of eligibility in the year 2035, he’ll only have time to post his acceptance speech on his Instagram account.”

The two-time Super Bowl Champion ended his speech with the following.

“During the past few years, the game of football has been challenged by an explosion of sports and entertainment options,” Manning explained. “Safety concerns, erupting social-justice issues and a worldwide pandemic. Displaced fans have taken on an entirely new meaning, as our stadiums have been shut down and fans shut out. We certainly shouldn’t walk away now.”

“The audience here tonight is made up of diehard fans who feel football deep in your bones,” Manning concluded. “Now, we may have ignited the fire, but you, you have fanned the flames. Inevitably, those flames will be whipped by the winds of change, but they don’t need to smolder. The future of this game is ours to shape. We just need to take tomorrow on our shoulders as readily as we donned our pads before each game. Let this moment become a cherished memory, and then remember: A legacy is only worthwhile when there is a future to fuel.”

On Sunday, Phil Mickelson won the PGA Championship to become the oldest player ever to win a major championship. Furthermore, he also becomes the fourth golfer in PGA Tour history to win in four different decades. That is a feat no other player has accomplished in the other major sports.

After winning, the 50-year-old spent his celebration by responding to people all over social media. Amongst the people who congratulated him were none other than active NFL legend Tom Brady. Last year, the two paired up in a match against Tiger Woods and Peyton Manning. However, the duo was unable to defeat Woods and Manning.

Following Mickelson’s win, Brady tweeted out to the golfer with the words, “That’s my quarterback!!! LFG.”

“We have some unfinished business,” Mickelson wrote in response. “Let’s get another match and find a pair to give a beat down.”

It certainly looks like the golfer is ready to run it back with Brady and find another pair to face in a gold match. While they could look for a pair, someone else is willing to face the two. A familiar name that Brady knows too well chimed in it was none other than Eli Manning. “I’m free,” wrote the New York Giants legend.

The younger Manning has beaten Brady twice in their Super Bowl matchups, so it will be interesting if they face one another in a golfing game.

Last week, we had TaylorMade’s Driving Relief charity skins match which raised $5.5 million for coronavirus relief. On Sunday, The Match: Champions for Charity, which featured Tiger Woods, Phil Mickelson, Peyton Manning and Tom Brady, collected $20 million for coronavirus relief.

Woods and Manning ultimately defeated Mickelson and Brady, in your typical Florida weather in the springtime – a lot of rain. It also came down to the final hole with many fun and entertaining moments, here is the recap if you didn’t watch:

Hands down the shot of the day went to Brady when on the seventh hole, after playing not up to par (no pun intended) for the first six holes. The comments on Twitter came in large numbers with average fans saying that they could beat Brady on the golf course. Even Charles Barkley, who was an analyst for the event and is a notoriously poor golfer, was getting in on the ribbing of TB12. That all came to an end though when on the seventh hole, hitting his fourth shot from 100 yards from the hole, with Barkley ripping on him, Brady sank a remarkable birdie to tie the hole. From that point on, Brady played rather solidly, holding his own.

Brady might have had the shot of the day, but the best performer of the day had to have been Woods. The event was held at the Medalist Golf Club, Woods’ home course, and it showed that he knew what he was doing. The last time we saw Woods play on the PGA Tour was back in February at the Genesis Open, where Woods finished in 68th, a 11-over par. The way he performed on Sunday, should give some fans hope that Woods could make a run once the PGA Tour season resumes.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3BNLB7O3Zs0

Leading up to the event, Mickelson was arguably talking the most smack. Remember, in the original ‘The Match,’ Mickelson came out victorious over Woods in Las Vegas, winning $9 million, and Mickelson refused to let Woods forget that point. During the event, although his game might not have been at its best, Mickelson still kept the enthusiasm, taking shots mainly at Woods.

Then there was Manning, similar to Mickelson, he poked continuous fun at his opponent in Brady, bringing up Brady’s Super Bowl losses and how he would have Bill Belichick caddy for him given Brady’s recent departure from New England. Manning held his own out there as well, playing some really good golf despite the rain, dialing it on the par-3s especially.

Overall, The Match: Champions for Charity, was in my opinion a success, raising a huge amount of money for coronavirus relief while also showing that golf can be fun and entertaining to watch.

The PGA Tour is set to resume its season starting on June 11 with the Charles Schwabb Challenge.

Tom Brady and Peyton Manning have long been adversaries during their NFL careers. Brady bested Manning 11 times in the 17 games they played against each other  during their respective careers. Although Manning might not have had the success against Brady on the football field, he will get another crack at Brady later this month, this time on the golf course in The Match II.

Brady and Manning will pair up with Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods respectively, to play in a charity event to help raise money for coronavirus relief on May 24.

In speaking with ESPN, Brady said that he is happy that he is going up against Peyton Manning, and not Eli Manning. “No, you kidding me? He’s got his fair share of mine, too. Eli’s the one I’m actually happy I’m not playing ’cause I got no chance against Eli on the golf course. Peyton, I got a shot.”

Now whether or not the reason Brady would rather play Peyton over Eli has anything to do with the fact that Brady lost to the younger Manning brother in the Super Bowl twice in his career is unknown, but this match still can be a good one.

Fans can watch The Match II on May 24 with the tee time set for 3:00 p.m. and can be watched on TBS and TNT.

It’s hard to forget the first of its kind Golf pay-per-view event that pitted PGA Tour legends Phil Mickelson and Tiger Woods against each other in a winner takes all format. Mickelson defeated Woods to win $9 million during the one-on-one matchup in November 2018 that was held in Las Vegas. Now, the pair hopes to organize a rematch that would also showcase athletes from other sports in some capacity.

CNBC is reportedly the broadcasting partner working with Woods and Mickelson. The network has confirmed other participants involved including Tom Brady and Peyton Manning and said the “match is on and could happen in May” with the possibility of donating proceeds to COVID-19 relief.

“Discussions along these lines have been ongoing for quite some time, but nothing has been approved by the Tour,” the tour said in a statement Wednesday.

The event could take place on Turner Sports’ TNT channel or through another platform within the WarnerMedia company and it’s unlikely to be showcased via pay-per-view. Parties coordinating the event also plan to feature participants from the PGA, NFL and NBA.

Mickelson and Woods previously squared off in an exciting round of golf that included charity shots, betting on individual holes and both golfers being mic’d up throughout the event.

“This is very different than anything golf has ever done in the past,” Woods said of the 2018 event. “We’re able to showcase our sport in such a different light and all the different technologies we’re going to be bringing to this event and to do it differently than any other golfing event has ever been done.”

The match will be reportedly be held in an area without fans with a small production crew present for filming purposes and all participants would be required to stand at least six feet away from each other to adhere to social distancing rules.

The PGA Tour had already postponed the Masters, which was supposed to be begin on April 9, so the largest golf organization is hoping to entertain sports fans in another way as leagues across the world continue to suspend operations amid the spread of coronavirus.

ESPN is preparing to make Peyton Manning the highest paid sports broadcaster of all time to hop in the booth for Monday Night Football. Originally, the network was trying to lure in Tony Romo but CBS retained his services for a whopping long-term deal that will pay him an annual salary of $17 million.

ESPN is now targeting Manning and are prepared to offer him a multi-year contract with a salary that ranges between $18 and $20 million to serve as lead analyst on Monday Night Football. Manning reportedly met with network executives over the last couple of days as he currently hosts a docu-series Peyton Places that airs on ESPN+.

“I talked to the Monday Night Football folks,” Manning told Bleacher Report last summer. “I enjoyed talking to the them. I had great conversation. It wasn’t the right time this year. Maybe it will never be.”

It wouldn’t be a surprise for Manning to have a change of heart this time around. One of the reasons he reportedly turned down the job last season was because he “didn’t want to analyze Eli.”

“If he ever decides [Monday Night Football] is something he wants to do, it’s going to be after Eli has finished his career and he gets a little bit further from his era of playing and maybe some of his teammates have moved on, too,” a source told Yahoo Sports’ Charles Robinson in July 2019. “It would have been a tough position for him this season, with the Giants [and Broncos] being on the schedule. There is a lot of loyalty there for him and I don’t think he’d ever want to be in a position where he’d be conflicted about his analysis. It just wouldn’t have been a comfortable situation this year.”

According to New York Post writer Andrew Marchand, ESPN would love to pair Manning with former Monday Night Football broadcaster and current NBC Sunday Night Football color commentator Al Michaels. This might just be the opportunity Manning needs to finally jump into the booth.

After a month of naming the top 100 players in league history, the NFL ended the tribute with a culmination of the top 10 quarterbacks of all time. The idea was to celebrate the history of the NFL has it approaches 100 years.

With some names missing from the list, did some greats get snubbed out. Drew Brees or Joe Namath?  The 26-person panel made up of coaches, former players, members of the media, and team and league executives began naming  and rating players beginning in 2018. How did they do?

30 SPORTS FIGURES WHO DIED IN 2018 – TRIBUTE SLIDESHOW

Drew Brees is now officially the all-time NFL touchdown passes leader.

The New Orleans Saints quarterback surpassed Peyton Manning‘s record for career TD passes in Monday night’s 34-7 home rout of the Indianapolis Colts. Brees — who will be 41 next month — beat Manning by throwing his 540th NFL pass midway through the third quarter, a five-yard toss to Josh Hill that put New Orleans up 26-0.

Brees then threw another pass later in the second half of Monday’s game — his fourth of the night — to reach the 541-pass mark.

Brees can now add this achievement to his long list of accolades, which includes one Super Bowl victory, a Super Bowl MVP title, 12 Pro Bowls, NFL Offensive Player of the Year, Walter Payton Man of the Year, seven-time NFL passing yards leader and five-time league completion percentage leader — among dozens of others. How much more impressive can he get?

IN MEMORIAM: SPORTS FIGURES WHO DIED IN 2019

The Saints QB — a former second-round draft pick out of Purdue — received congratulations from several NFL stars, including Russell Wilson, Adrian Peterson, Deion Sanders, JJ Watt and Tom Brady, who has compiled 538 career touchdown passes:

ESPN Radio’s Trey Wingo, Mike Golic and Mike Golic Jr. also all reacted to Brees’ big accomplishment on Golic & Wingo:

Brees has undoubtedly turned his season around completely. His 2019 campaign got off to a shaky start after he sustained a thumb injury that sidelined him for five games.

Now, he certainly appears on track to cementing his status as the greatest NFL quarterback of all time — or at least of his generation.

Seeing and perhaps meeting just one game-defying icon in person often makes anyone’s day, let alone two. Those present at the PGA Memorial Tournament’s Pro–Am experienced just that, as five-time MVP quarterback Peyton Manning and 15 time major–winning champion Tiger Woods hit the links together Wednesday morning for the second year in a row.

Although the golf course remains 43-year-old Woods’s habitat, jerseys with the number 18 stitched in stuck out in a crowd normally populated with typical golf polos or quarter–zips. Fans quickly approached 43-year-old Manning, often pleading for autographs and pictures between holes, which Manning did his best to acknowledge.

Manning shot well, yet modestly joked about his game as he stated, “There were a lot of people out here. I only hit one guy, I think. He said if I got him a couple of Super Bowl tickets he’d call it even. Hit some good shots.” Nearly every time Manning teed off, his signature call while under center “Omaha” roared throughout the crowd, often causing a smile to crack Manning’s face. With Woods leading the way as the number five-ranked golfer, the group stood at just two shots under par through eight holes.

30 SPORTS FIGURES WHO DIED IN 2018 – TRIBUTE SLIDESHOW

Although Manning’s competitive nature is similar to Woods’s, their scores and actual play stands as a secondary act, positioned behind the simple spectacle of seeing two athletes who both for a time stood as the best their sport had to offer coming together. Not too often does an opportunity for two figures so influential yet talented arise. While the Happy Gilmore and Bob Barker pairing remains an honorable mention, this combination containing Woods and Manning stands unopposed as far as dynamic duos on the golf course go.

When the Los Angeles Rams and the New England Patriots couldn’t turn it up on the field, some fans debated turning the game off. However, most didn’t and made sure to catch the commercials. And one, in particular, shined above the rest. Though New England won on the field, the NFL won off it.

NFL Stars Past & Present Appear In Super Bowl Ad

The NFL’s “100 year” halftime ad was the highest-rated ad of the game, placing No. 1 out of 58 possible commercials. They’ve been spot-on with their commercials recently, finishing second place last year to Amazon for a Dirty Dancing parody by Eli Manning and Odell Beckham Jr. This year they finally jumped over the online shopping giant, which called on actor Harrison Ford for its Super Bowl ad this year.

The two-minute commercial featured a number of NFL greats from Joe Montana to Emmitt Smith to Deion Sanders. The ad begins at a black-tie dinner to celebrate the league’s upcoming 100th season with Commissioner Rodger Goodell giving a speech. But even the players are bored by him and Raiders running back Marshawn Lynch, channeling his “I’m just here so I won’t get fined” attitude, turns to grab a piece of cake. The golden football on top of the tower falls and the banquet hall turns into a brawl after one simple word is yelled out: “Fumble!” Next thing you know, players from as far back as 1957 are throwing around the ball, smashing through table, and flipping each other in an extreme game of kill the carrier.

“I feel honored to help ring in the NFL’s centennial season with a piece of creative that brings to life the passion, energy and storied history of football,” director Peter Berg said in a statement. “In fact, it’s one of the coolest things I’ve done in my career.”

30 SPORTS FIGURES WHO DIED IN 2018 – TRIBUTE SLIDESHOW

Though the ad called on players from today and the past, it also called on people who never set foot on an NFL field.  Female youth football player Sam Gordon, sportscaster Beth Mowins, Fortnite gamer Tyler “Ninja” Blevins, and Sarah Thomas, the NFL’s first female official, were all featured in the commercial.

“It was important to us that the spot was inclusive and emblematic of football’s expansive influence on American culture,” Tim Ellis, the NFL’s executive vice president and chief marketing officer, said.

Here’s the full commercial:

Peyton Manning is known for being an icon in Tennessee, and on Wednesday night the former NFL MVP quarterback was applauded yet again in the state.

Belichick Doppelganger Booed At Grizzlies Home Game

Manning, 42, attended the Memphis Grizzlies‘ home game against the Milwaukee Bucks on Wednesday and after he appeared on the Jumbotron, the crowd at FedEx Forum clapped and cheered for him, as he played college football for the Tennessee Volunteers before being selected as the first overall pick in the 1998 NFL Draft. Manning, who led the Vols to the SEC Championship in 1997, went on to win two Super Bowls after playing with the Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos. The 14-time Pro Bowl quarterback was also named the Super Bowl MVP after the 2015 season and retired shortly after leading the Broncos to a national championship victory over the Carolina Panthers.

Fans’ love for Manning at FedEx Forum on Wednesday quickly turned to disgust, however, as a doppelganger for New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick was spotted sitting next to the former quarterback. The man was even wearing Belichick’s signature grey hoodie and bore the controversial coach’s demeanor, and was loudly booed by fans. Belichick — a three-time AP NFL Coach of the Year — has led Tom Brady and the Patriots to five Super Bowl titles since joining the team in 2000. New England, which finished the regular season 11-5, will face the Kansas City Chiefs in Sunday’s AFC Championship Game.

The Bucks defeated the Grizzlies 111-101 but it was undoubtedly Manning and Belichick’s look-alike that garnered much of the attention on Wednesday evening in Memphis.

Peyton Manning has just received a major offer to co-own the Carolina Panthers, according to several reports.

Peyton Manning Asked to join panthers ownership bid

Charleston-area billionaire Ben Navarro, who is making a bid for the Panthers, reportedly contacted the former MVP Award-winning quarterback about the possibility of co-owning the franchise. Navarro, 54, owns the Sherman Financial Group.

According to Joseph Person of the Charleston Observer, 42-year-old Manning — a two-time Super Bowl champion — is thinking about potentially accepting the offer.

Reports had surfaced in recent months about Manning possibly joining networks like ESPN and Fox as a commentator with multi-million dollar contract offers. However, some of those reports later said the former Indianapolis Colts and Denver Broncos QB was more interested in becoming part-owner of an NFL team. Manning also reportedly sold his stake in 31 Papa John’s Pizza stores just days before the chain ended its sponsorship deal with the NFL.

The Panthers have yet to be bought after longtime owner Jerry Richardson announced in December 2017 that he was resigning amid allegations of workplace misconduct toward players and female staffers. Some celebrities like artist Sean “Brother Love” Combs and NBA point guard Stephen Curry quickly jumped on social media to voice interest in bidding to buy the team.

The Colts unveiled a statue of Manning outside their stadium in October 2017.

According to Forbes, the Panthers have a valuation of about $2.3 billion, and rank 21st among NFL teams in this category.

Currently, the Buffalo Bills boast the record for the highest sale price of any NFL team ever. The team was purchased for $1.4 billion in 2014.

Peyton Manning held a large stake in Papa John’s Pizza up until recently, but now he has done away with it.

Peyton Manning Papa John’s locations sales news

The ex-football star sold his shares in 31 Colorado Papa John’s stores.

Manning — who will be 42 later this month — played for the Broncos for four years before winning the Super Bowl after the 2015 season and then retiring. The five-time NFL MVP bough the Papa John’s stores in 2012 as part of a six-year joint venture with Papa John’s International, company spokesman Peter Collins stated. Manning appeared in several of the chain’s commercials during football games.

Papa John’s and the NFL described the decision to end their sponsorship deal — which began in 2010 — as “mutual,” although many are skeptical of this. The relationship between the two suffered after company founder John Schnatter blamed national anthem protests by some NFL players for the decline of his firm’s pizza sales. Schnatter said the league had “poor leadership” and that the issue of anthem demonstrations should have been dealt with shortly after Colin Kaepernick began the action in August 2016.

The company’s stock plummeted and Schnatter apologized less than two weeks after that. Papa John’s released a statement saying, while it believes Americans “should honor the anthem,” it supports “the players’ movement to create a new platform for change.” By December, Schnatter had stepped down as head of the company. Pizza Hut is now the NFL’s official pizza.

Despite all this, Manning will reportedly still serve as a pitchman and brand ambassador for Papa John’s.

Manning has also been rumored to become a football analyst for a major network, and several reports from this week have been suggesting he could land major deals with a network. Fox Sports and ESPN are reportedly so keen on getting the former QB to call their respective “Thursday Night Football” and “Monday Night Football” games that they’re prepared to pay him up to $10 million annually.

Nevertheless, both ESPN and Fox are looking to boost viewership after ratings fell substantially during the 2017 season.

Manning could also end up becoming a part-owner of an NFL team. Time will surely tell what lies ahead for the beloved QB.

Peyton Manning may have retired from football two years ago, but he has continued to find ways to entertain himself and fans — one way is by driving the pace car for NASCAR’s season-opening Daytona 500.

Peyton Manning Daytona 500 interview news

The former MVP quarterback gave a rather hilarious interview to FOX Sports on Sunday while driving around the same track as some of the fastest stock cars in the world.

“I’ve never been sideways before,” said Manning as he drove around one of the turns.

“I didn’t realize these guys were going to be quite so close to me,” Manning said with a laugh. “What a cool environment to be a part of.”

Austin Dillon ended up winning the event at Daytona International Speedway, the first Daytona 500 victory of his career. Bubba Wallace and Denny Hamlin filled out the podium.

Manning has been known for his humor before: he has appeared in several quirky commercials with NationWide Insurance and Papa John’s Pizza, and recently voiced a character (a bull named Guapo!) in the Golden Globe and Oscar-nominated animated film Ferdinand.

The two-time Super Bowl champion also showed off his comedic chops by delivering a set at the Comedy Central Roast of Rob Lowe in 2016. Manning ripped the former brat pack and West Wing actor for falsely reporting his retirement from the NFL in a tweet in 2012.

Manning made news last week, as he is reportedly being pursued by both ESPN and FOX to be part of their coverage team for the 2018 NFL season. ESPN is hoping to fill the vacancy left by Jon Gruden, who left as a Monday Night Football analyst to become the next head coach of the Oakland Raiders.

Fans would likely love the idea of Manning returning to the NFL scene as a commentator.
