Three-time Pro Bowl wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was reinstated by NFL commissioner Roger Goodell on Tuesday after serving a six-game suspension for violating the league’s performance-enhancing drugs policy.

Beckham, 33, is now eligible to practice and play immediately and is free to sign with any team. He accepted the suspension in October after a failed test tied to elevated testosterone levels, saying he did not knowingly take a banned substance. The former Offensive Rookie of the Year last played for the Miami Dolphins in 2024. He finished with nine catches for 55 yards in nine games before being released in December.

Once one of the NFL’s most electric playmakers, Beckham opened his career with the New York Giants by topping 1,300 receiving yards and double-digit touchdowns in each of his first three seasons. Over 10 seasons with the Giants, Cleveland Browns, Los Angeles Rams, Baltimore Ravens and Dolphins, he has 575 receptions for 7,987 yards and 59 touchdowns, plus a Super Bowl ring from the Rams’ title run in the 2021 season.

Despite injuries and declining production, Beckham has been adamant he is “not done yet.” He shot down a viral fake retirement report this summer and reiterated his desire to chase another Super Bowl.

As the playoff race tightens, several contenders have been rumored to have talked with the veteran. The Kansas City Chiefs and Denver Broncos both could use another reliable target. The Pittsburgh Steelers, thin at wide receiver, would give Beckham a third stop in the AFC North. Out West, the San Francisco 49ers and Los Angeles Rams, the team he helped to a championship, loom as logical fits if they seek experienced depth for a stretch run.

Nearly three years ago, receiver Odell Beckham Jr. was removed from a flight from Miami to Los Angeles after he appeared to slip in and out of consciousness. The Miami-Dade Police Department released a statement following the incident, stating that the flight crew was concerned Beckham was ill and could deteriorate during the flight.

Beckham was asked to leave the flight, but refused until officers arrived and exchanged heated words with several other passengers. The entire plane was forced to deplane, and the flight was delayed.

Beckham opened up in detail about the incident during an interview with Haute Living, stating that he initially fell asleep after boarding the plane due to a flight delay, but was then woken up by multiple officers surrounding him and telling him to get off the plane.

“I bought a first-class seat on a specific flight to get home and see my son,” Beckham said. “I was one of the first people to board. The flight gets delayed for an hour while we’re sitting there, so I just go to sleep, like anybody else would do, and then I’m woken up – an hour and 20 minutes later – thinking I’m waking up to us landing in California, to nine officers surrounding me.”

“They said, ‘Basically, you have to get off this flight.’ I was trying to ask why I was being removed from a flight where I had done absolutely nothing but fall asleep, and there was nothing wrong. They said I was unconscious, refusing to put my seatbelt on,” he continued. “Which makes no sense. If I was unconscious, how would I refuse anything?”

Beckham expressed regret for letting his emotions get the best of him, but he explained that he became angry due to several comments made by other passengers toward him, including one comment he said was racially charged.

“That’s where you see me talking s— to this guy,” he said. “But people don’t know that part. They just see me yelling. They think I’m trying to be seen. But at the time, I was like, ‘f—, my day is literally about to be ruined. I’m not going to get to see my son. There are no more flights to get me back home to see him. But then, I’m the headline. Odell Beckham Jr. causes a scene. It doesn’t make sense.”

“I let my emotions get the best of me,” Beckham said. “I was definitely hot.”

Free agent wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. will reportedly visit the Miami Dolphins before the 2024 season. If Beckham signs with Mike McDaniel’s squad, it would be his fifth team since he joined the league in 2014.

After winning a Super Bowl with the Los Angeles Rams at the end of the 2021 season, Beckham did not sign with anyone in the 2022 season while he dealt with an ACL injury he sustained in the championship game.

“One quote I’d always lived by was ‘‘you’re only as good as your last game,’” Beckham said before last season. “It could be up for debate, but I think I was well on the way to being MVP in that game and it’s just the type of mentality I have.”

The receiver was not done playing and signed with the Baltimore Ravens in 2023. Though he said that the team was the best one he had ever played for entering the playoffs, Baltimore lost in the AFC Championship game to the Kansas City Chiefs.

It is unclear how much playing time Beckham would receive if he signed with Miami, as the team already enjoys a luxury of options at the wide receiver position. Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle have spent the past few seasons cultivating the fastest offense in football, which would likely relegate Beckham to a veteran locker-room presence.

During his season in Baltimore, an organization more in need of veteran receivers, Beckham only caught 35 passes for 565 yards and three touchdowns in the regular season. His contributions in the playoffs were also diminutive, though the 31-year-old receiver was never expected to contribute as he did as an All-Pro talent for the Giants in the 2010s.

Between his successful career in New York and his latest stints in Los Angeles and Baltimore, Beckham spent the better part of three seasons with the Cleveland Browns from 2019 to 2021. Beckham struggled with injuries during his tenure there and the team did very little of note.

The Baltimore Ravens and Lamar Jackson have finally come to terms on a five-year, $260 million extension deal. The new contract arrangement puts an end to months of negotiating and rampant speculation around the league involving the star quarterback.

Jackson’s new deal comes 10 days after Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts received a remarkably similar deal for five years and $255 million. After some reported hesitation within Baltimore’s organization about offering Jackson a long-term deal, the two sides seem to have come to an agreement by slightly raising the ceiling on Hurts’ deal.

Without an agent representing him, Jackson has been negotiating the terms of his extension personally and refused to take a deal that did not include guaranteed money. Though it is unclear how much of Jackson’s contract will be guaranteed, Hurts’ deal included $110 million guaranteed upon signing and an additional $16 million after March 2024. It is reasonable to expect Jackson to receive a similar arrangement.

Before eventually reaching a deal with Jackson, the Ravens did make several signings in an attempt to appease him in negotiations. The most prominent of these was wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr., who Jackson had reportedly been recruiting to play for the team. Beckham signed a one-year deal worth up to $18 million earlier this month.

Because Jackson was representing himself, some began to suspect collusion between NFL team owners at certain points in negotiations, as it appeared that multiple teams were withdrawing themselves from consideration to sign the quarterback despite a serious need at the position. The 2019 MVP received no interest from the Falcons, Panthers, Raiders, Dolphins, Commanders or others, even as many of those teams were in the process of looking for options at quarterback. Some teams even released statements expressing their lack of interest.

In any case, Jackson and the Ravens now seem to be in agreement, with the quarterback announcing the deal on the Ravens’ Twitter account Thursday afternoon. Jackson has suffered a number of setbacks in recent years due to injuries, but when healthy, he has proven to be one of the most effective quarterbacks in the league.

Odell Beckham Jr. is now off the board but there might be two better options available.

The 30-year-old made his decision on Easter Sunday to sign with Baltimore Ravens on a one-year deal worth up to $18 million.

This could be a big blow for teams that were interested in Beckham, who won the Offensive Rookie of the Year award in 2014 and became the fastest receiver in NFL history to reach 3,500 yards.

In particular, he was set to meet with the New York Jets on this week but decided to sign with the Ravens instead.

But the issue with Beckham is he’s coming off major knee surgery that caused him to miss all of 2022.

Thus, there might be some better options available via trade.

One includes dealing for soon-to-be 31-year-old DeAndre Hopkins.

While he has been a 1,000-yard receiver during most of his NFL seasons, Hopkins has had trouble staying on the field in the past two years.

This is due to knee injuries and a PED suspension.

The asking price has been a second-round pick and “something else of value,” according to Albert Breer of Sports Illustrated.

But it may not be that much, as a team will likely have to restructure his big $30 million cap hit. So this could be an interesting buy-low option for a number one wide receiver.

Another option via trade is for high-upside receiver Jerry Jeudy. 

By many, Jeudy was considered the top receiver in a deep receiver draft in 2020 that featured the talents of CeeDee Lamb and Justin Jefferson.

However, some would argue Jeudy has not lived up to his full potential with the Denver Broncos and its lackluster offense.

That said, Jeudy last year still managed to record nearly 1,000 yards in receiving – but still finds himself in the rumor mill.

While new head coach Sean Payton has revealed publicly that the Broncos aren’t interested in trading Jeudy, it could still happen and provide an acquiring team huge upside.

Odell Beckham Jr. could be getting closer to signing as he will continue to have dialogue with teams.

On Thursday, the 30-year-old wide receiver met with the New York Giants.

“We had dinner with Odell last night,” head coach Brian Daboll told the media Friday. 

“We had a good visit. Other than that, I have nothing else to add.”

In addition, Beckham Jr. will also meet with Buffalo Bills today, followed by the Dallas Cowboys on Monday.

It’s unclear if he will have any other visits scheduled after that with other teams.

But the move comes as Beckham Jr. was cleared to play from a knee injury.

In the Super Bowl that took place in February, he suffered a torn ACL.

During the postseason run with the Los Angeles Rams, Beckham Jr. posted 288 yards in receiving, along with touchdowns.

In terms of team need, the Giants, who he was originally drafted by would make the most sense for Beckham Jr.

The Giants rank 4th in the league in passes dropped this year and could certainly use him.

But the Cowboys and the Bills would likely offer him the best chance to win and potentially make a deep playoff run.

The Giants have lost twice to the Cowboys this year and aren’t guaranteed to make the playoffs – given how tough the remainder of the schedule looks.

The Bills at the moment are in first place in its division with a 9-3 record.

The latest odds from DraftKings give the Bills the second-best odds to win the super bowl at +450.

Meanwhile, ESPN color commentator Troy Aikman seems fairly confident Beckham Jr. will pick the Cowboys.

“I think it happens,” he said.

“If I was betting, I would bet virtually everything I have on it.”

Aikman also said that if Cowboys owner Jerry Jones really wants a guy he usually gets him.

However, there might be a little bias from Aikman, who won three Super Bowl rings with the Cowboys as the quarterback.

It’s unclear what Beckham Jr.’s next contract will look like.

Odel Beckham Jr. could soon sign with a team if he fully recovers from the knee injury he suffered at the end of last season. 

Last year, Beckham Jr. was released by the Cleveland Browns – allowing the Los Angeles Rams to sign him.

The wide receiver played a pivotal role in helping the Rams win the Super Bowl last year.

In the postseason, Beckham Jr. posted 288 yards in receiving, along with touchdowns.

However, he suffered a torn ACL in the Super Bowl in February last year.

These types of injuries take between nine and 12 months to recover.

NFL insider Dan Graziano reports that Beckham Jr. won’t likely be healthy enough to play until mid-December.

Also, a team would likely want to work him out before signing him.

And there would only be a few weeks left in the season if Beckham Jr. signs during that timeframe.

So likewise, playoff or Super Bowl contending teams will be interested.

The teams in the NFL with the best records currently include the Buffalo Bills, Philadelphia Eagles and Minnesota Vikings.

All three to some degree could use Beckham Jr. for some depth and insurance.

They will of course hope that he will bring a similar impact as Beckham Jr. did with Rams last year.

Also, there’s the Kansas City Chiefs and Beckham Jr.’s former NFL team the New York Giants, which could be both interesting fits.

Both teams have just two losses on the season and could use another wide receiver.

Giants general manager Joe Schoen said on the Tiki and Tierney show that he’s been in contact with Beckham Jr.’s representatives.

The Giants, which rank 7th in the league in passes dropped, could especially use one.

It also recently traded wide receiver Kadarius Toney to the Chiefs

Also, teams with injuries could act.

For example, the 5-3 Baltimore Ravens will be without wide receiver Rashod Bateman for the remainder of the year, which was just revealed on Thursday.

Recently, the Ravens signed DeSean Jackson, who could make his debut on Monday Night Football on November 7.

But keep in mind, Beckham Jr. may not play this year if he hasn’t fully recovered from his knee injury.

So it’s possible he may not sign anywhere until next year.

New York Giants wide receiver Sterling Shepard has a seasoning-ending injury.

On Monday Night Football against the Dallas Cowboys, the Oklahoma native suffered a non-contact knee injury when he was running a route.

Unfortunately for Shepard, the injury occurred with just over a minute remaining in the game.

Head coach Brian Daboll confirmed to reporters today that it was a torn ACL, ending his season just three games in.

It was a tough break for the Giants – and some blamed the turf at MetLife Stadium for the injury.

In fact, Baltimore Ravens head coach John Harbaugh had some words to say about it after the week one win against the New York Jets.

“That turf was matted down, it was packed down, it was a little tight,” he said.

“Maybe that’s how it’s supposed to be. I don’t know, but that’s what I saw. It was a little tough.”

Last year, Shepard appeared in just seven games, catching 36 passes for 366 yards.

In week 15, Shepard tore his Achilles.

But the question now is what’s next for the Giants.

In the short term, it’s an opportunity for receivers further down the depth chart to earn more playing time. 

Also, 2021 first-round pick Kadarius Toney looks like he is trending towards not playing in week four due to a hamstring injury.

If that’s the case, Darius Slayton and David Sills could be in line for more playing time in week four.

Slayton in three seasons with the Giants has more than 1,800 receiving yards.

However, he does not have a reception in two games this year.  

Longer term the Giants could look at the trade market and free agency.

In fact, the Giants have been rumored to be interested in an Odell Beckham Jr. reunion and could sign him once he’s eligible to return from injury in November. 

However, that may be tough to squeeze in, as the Giants don’t have a lot of cap space. 

Via trade, the Giants could look at New York Jets wide receiver Denzel Mims, who has requested to be moved. 

The 2020 second-round pick has not appeared in a game this year and probably wouldn’t cost a lot to acquire. 

The 2-1 Giants will face the Chicago Bears at home next week. 

Pittsburgh Steelers wide receiver George Pickens came up with a spectacular catch on Thursday Night Football – and it’s being compared to a famous play. 

In the first quarter, when the Steelers were trailing 7-0, quarterback Mitch Trubisky was scrambling out of the pocket to his right.

He wound up throwing it down the sideline to a place where only Pickens could catch it despite there being solid coverage by the Cleveland Browns. 

What was most impressive about the catch is Pickens’ concentration on the ball as his body was pointed in a different direction. 

The 2022 second-round pick secured the ball against his body after sticking out one hand and hitting the ground hard.

You can take a look at it yourself – but already it’s in the conversation for the catch of the year. 

In fact, Odell Beckham Jr., who arguably had the most famous one-handed catch of all time by using just two fingers, praised Pickens’ acrobatics. 

And fans also compared the catch Beckham Jr.’s. 

Some even thought Pickens’ catch last night was better. 

But others don’t think there was any competition and Beckham Jr.’s was clearly more impressive. 

The Pickens play led to running back Najee Harris finishing the drive off with a five-yard rushing touchdown to tie the game up at seven a piece. 

Unfortunately for the Steelers, it didn’t win up winning. 

On the year, the team is 1-2, sitting in third place in the AFC North after falling to the division rival Browns. 

But the Steelers at the very least have to be encouraged by the upside of Pickens.

He has five catches for 65 yards so far in his rookie campaign. 

Meanwhile, some Steelers fans have already had enough of watching Trubisky play and want to see what 2022 first-round pick quarterback Kenny Picket can do instead. 

The Steelers will face the New York Jets in week four.

Odell Beckham Jr. emerged as an MVP candidate in the early parts of Super Bowl LVI—grabbing an imperative first-down pass as well as the game’s first touchdown.

However, a devastating knee injury thwarted any such hopes late in the first half.

The star-wide receiver dropped a short pass over the middle before collapsing to the turf sans contact and clutching his left knee.

He walked gingerly to the sidelines with help and did not return before halftime; he was officially ruled out during the third quarter.

The injury is to the same knee (left) in which he tore his ACL in 2020.

Beckham returned to the sidelines in the second half to watch his teammates triumph. He said after the game that he doesn’t yet know the extent of the injury.

The wide receiver is set to his free agency this offseason.

Veteran quarterback Matthew Stafford and star receiver Odell Beckham Jr. both (finally) recorded their first career playoff win Monday night as the Los Angeles Rams easily handled the Arizona Cardinals, 34-11, at SoFi Stadium to close out the NFL’s Super Wild Card weekend.

Stafford, of course, spent the first 12 years of his career with the Detroit Lions before landing in L.A. this season. He threw for 202 yards, two touchdowns and ran for another score in the rout.

Beckham signed with the Rams midway through this season after leaving the Cleveland Browns. He played the first five years of his career for the New York Giants, then 2.5 injury-plagued years in Cleveland. He caught his first career playoff touchdown and threw a 40-yard pass on a trick play. Rams receiver Cooper Kupp added a touchdown catch on 61 yards receiving.

L.A. jumped out to a 28-0 lead and never looked back. After the game, Rams head coach Sean McVay spoke volumes of Stafford.

“I thought he did a great job leading the way,” McVay said. “He’s still the same great player to me, and he always was before this game. I think it’s good so you guys don’t have to talk about that anymore. So pleased to be able to do this with him. He’s our leader out there, and we wouldn’t be here without him.”

L.A.’s offense was humming so well that the team’s stout defense was overshadowed. Cardinals QB Kyler Murray was under constant pressure and threw two interceptions, one of which was returned by Rams linebacker David Long for a three-yard score—the shortest pick-six in postseason history.

LB Von Miller notched six tackles and a sack in his first postseason appearance since winning MVP at Super Bowl 50 with Denver. Rams safety Eric Weddle played in his first game since coming out of retirement.

Murray completed 19 of 34 passes for 137 yards with two interceptions and a 40.9 passer rating. Afterwards, he called the performance “disappointing.”

“It’s disappointing that we didn’t make it a game and come out and play the football we know we’re capable of playing, that’s really the most disappointing part,” Murray said. “Losing is one thing, but when you don’t even make it competitive, it’s another thing.

“I put a lot on my shoulders, put a lot on myself and to dream of this moment and then be in the playoffs, the first game of the playoffs and then to play the way I did, to play the way we did, it’s—like I said—disappointing.”

The Cardinals were the last unbeaten team during the regular season and the first to record 10 wins.

The Rams will head to Florida to face the defending Super Bowl champion Tampa Bay Buccaneers. The winner gets a spot in the NFC title game.

SoFi Stadium will be the site of Super Bowl LVI next month.

Odell Beckham Jr. is back.

At least to the end zone. His first score in over a year came on a 54-yard pass from Matt Stafford with 14:52 left in the fourth quarter. This was just Beckham’s second game since the deal was signed that brought him to southern California to team up with Stafford and Cooper Kupp. The touchdown was his first since Week 4 of the 2020 season. A two-point conversion from Kupp followed and put the Los Angeles Rams within two scores of the Green Bay Packers, but the game ended in a 36-28 loss.

After a season-ending knee injury sidelined Beckham for most of last season and reports began swirling of lack of chemistry with Cleveland Browns quarterback, Baker Mayfield, Beckham was released from the Browns. He generated interest from multiple teams, including the Packers, but settled on the pass-happy Rams who brought in other big names, like Von Miller, to boost the team during the season.

The Rams’ loss on Sunday puts their record at 7-4, with three of those losses coming in their last three games. Stafford committed six turnovers in those games, and some of his teammates agree that the reasons for their losses have been self-inflicted.

“There are still six games left,” Rams head coach Sean McVay said. “The only thing that we can do is get ourselves back in alignment, have a good week of preparation, and try to get back on track against the Jaguars. We have six left for sure and that’s a lot of football. This story isn’t written yet.”

Beckham could be key to getting the Rams back on track, especially with starting wide receiver Robert Woods moved to injured reserve after suffering an ACL tear two weeks ago. Beckham will be asked to play an increasingly larger role in the offense as he gets acclimated.

It remains to be seen if Beckham is truly back. Will he be able to avoid injuries and return to the level of play that made him a star in the league? Two games is too early to tell, but Sunday was a good start.

On Friday, the Cleveland Browns met with representatives of Odell Beckham Jr. to negotiate an agreement on terms under which they would release the wide receiver.

“After careful consideration, internal discussions and conversations with Odell and his representation, we’ve determined that it is in the best interest of all parties involved that Odell no longer play for the Cleveland Browns,” said Browns GM Andrew Berry in a statement. “We appreciate all his efforts and contributions while in Cleveland, but we’ve just reached a point where it is best that we move forward as a team without Odell. We are finalizing the process of granting Odell his release and we wish him well as he continues his career.”

Once the contract is finalized – expected to be anytime in the next few days – Beckham will be released. He can’t be claimed on waivers until next week.

Beckham was told not to attend Wednesday’s practice one day after his father posted a video on Instagram highlighting times when quarterback Baker Mayfield either didn’t throw the ball to Beckham or missed him when he was open. Beckham was then excused again from practice for a second consecutive day Thursday as both sides tried to find a resolution.

Cleveland coach Kevin Stefanski addressed the team before Wednesday’s practice and informed players that Beckham would no longer be a Brown as the team prepared for Sunday’s game against the Cincinnati Bengals.

Although Beckham insisted he was happy in Cleveland, where he was reunited with former college teammate and close friend Jarvis Landry, he didn’t seem to like not being in a big market. He reportedly told opponents on the field during pregame warmups to “come get me” in the offseason.

It is still unknown when Beckham will be released, one thing is for sure, the Browns will have to scramble to fill that void Beckham will leave for the team.

Cleveland Brown’s wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr.‘s stat sheet does not reflect his ability and his father may know the reason why. Odell Beckham Sr. posted a YouTube video to Instagram revealing the many times that Browns quarterback Baker Mayfield has failed to make a pass to an open OBJ this season.

Beckham Sr. has stood by his son this season as OBJ and the Browns have underperformed on several occasions. However, Beckham Sr. could not stand idle any longer and decided to express his grievances on Instagram. The post’s caption read, “Generally Behind Da Scene, BUT NOT TODAY.”

After starting the season off on a high, the Browns have begun to struggle, mustering only one win in their last four games. It’s true that Beckham and Mayfield have both been battling shoulder injuries, but it’s also true that there has been a lack of connectivity in their passing game. The Browns are now 4-4 on the season as they head to this Sunday’s match-up against the Cincinnati Bengals. OBJ has yet to score a touchdown this season.

Odell Beckham Jr. is back ladies and gentlemen!

The electric wide receiver just made his season debut on Sunday against the Chicago Bears after being listed on the Cleveland Browns injury report for the past 11 months.

Beckham was targeted nine times and had five receptions for 77 yards, as well as a 10-yard, run, good for a first down.

OBJ tore his ACL back on October 25 in an attempt to tackle Bengals cornerback Darius Phillips after an interception.

“The first time in a very long time, a lot of emotions, a lot of things running through you as you’re back out in the stadium,” he told the Akron Beacon Journal.

However, the three-time Pro Bowler conceded that he isn’t quite back to his peak form.

“It’s still the dream to be in the NFL and play in this game, so it was a lot to take in today. It just felt like I could never get my legs going. It’s just exhausting. But we came out with a W, and that’s all that matters.”

On the bright side, the ACL surgery and rehabilitation process have been successful and his season debut against the Bears certainly marks a step in the right direction.

The Browns will desperately need Beckham to stay healthy and perform moving forward, as wide receiver Jarvis Landry will remain on the sidelines for several games after suffering a knee injury.

The race for the AFC will be super interesting this year. For the first time in two seasons, the Kansas City Chiefs feel vulnerable, especially after their 31-9 drubbing by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in the Super Bowl. Star tight end Travis Kelce acknowledges that teams like the Cleveland Browns are coming for them. “They’re definitely a contender, without a doubt. It’s definitely there,” he said. “Baker [Mayfield] and the gang have upped the ante, made this team an unbelievable team and a team you have to prepare for and take seriously. I think that moving forward without a doubt, I can see a lot more playoff games between us, and I’ll just take it one day at a time and hope for it. I think the Browns and Chiefs are definitely neck and neck.”

The Browns have certainly built a complete roster entering this season. With needs in the secondary, and at linebacker, as well as defensive line, the Browns managed to improve all three units, and will certainly have a better defense than the one that allowed the 21st-most points in the league. At safety and corner, the Browns added John Johnson III and Troy Hill from the Los Angeles Rams. The Rams had the best pass defense in the NFL last year, so to steal two players from them is surely a benefit.

The Browns also drafted highly touted rookie Greg Newsome II and Jeremiah Owusu- Koramoah, two players who seem poised to help cover the combination of Kelce and Tyreek Hill.

This team also gets Odell Beckham Jr. back on offense. The Browns are positioned to do massive things this year. When asked about the team’s Super Bowl aspirations this year, wide receiver Jarvis Landry expressed confidence. “Why not? It’s something that people always say you should not talk about, but nobody trains or nobody does what they do to not be a champion,” he said. “So that’s the standard. So why not talk about it? It’s real. It’s sick to be humble about what everybody is actually chasing.”

AFC North: The Browns will be fighting in a three-way battle with two other contending teams within the division. The Steelers and Ravens will give the Browns some trouble if they want to win this season’s division title. The Browns will struggle against the revamped Ravens offense led by Lamar Jackson. In regards to the Steelers, Cleveland split last year’s regular-season series, but Cleveland won when it mattered in the postseason. Pittsburgh continues to be led by an aging quarterback in Ben Roethlisberger, and the Browns defense seemed to finally have his number in the 2020 NFL Playoffs. With Odell Beckham Jr. returning from a season-ending injury, the Browns’ offense could be as explosive as ever this season with Baker Mayfield at the helm, Nick Chubb and Kareem Hunt in the backfield, and Beckham, Jarvis Landry and Rashard Higgins catching passes. Between the team’s strong defense and their revamped offense, the Browns are not to be taken lightly in 2021.

Matchups: Cleveland will open its season with a tough game against Patrick Mahomes and the reigning AFC Champion Kansas City Chiefs. Another tough game for Cleveland will be against the Packers, but that game will depend on whether Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers gets his trade from the team or not. The Ravens will be difficult considering they easily beat the Browns both times last season. Cleveland also has some favorable matchups such as their games against the Lions, Bengals, Broncos and Patriots.

Overall: The Browns will not have much trouble except for their inter-division rivals in the Ravens and Steelers. Their Chiefs and Packers game may be out of reach for the Browns, but the rest of their schedule will be much easier.

Prediction: The Browns will finish 12-5, second in their division. They will qualify for the playoffs for the second consecutive season.

Two Cleveland Browns players, left tackle Jedrick Wills, and receiver Rashard Higgins were cited for drag racing in Westlake, Ohio.

According to the police report, two cars were stopped at 9:26 am earlier this month. In addition to the drag racing citations, the report noted something suspected to be marijuana was actually found in the car.

This is not the first time that police have cited Wills for a traffic-related situation before. The Ohio State Highway patrol gave him a ticket for going 82 mph in a 60 mph zone back on Nov. 21. There were no disciplinary actions for this issue.

Both of the players responded differently on social media. Higgins made a joke about the situation when he tweeted, “Foot slipped, srry,” and “Was Tryna get away from Covid,” before he deleted both tweets. In comparison, Wills defended what happened and called the incident a small game he was playing with a friend.

The Cleveland Browns are aware of the incident and will be taking whatever actions are necessary. “We are aware of the incident, will gather more information, and handle this matter appropriately,” the team said in a statement.

Both Wills and Higgins are essential pieces of the Browns team. Wills, the No. 10 overall draft pick in the 2020 NFL draft, started 15 games this season. Higgins, a fifth rounder from the 2016 draft, became a starter as Odell Beckham Jr. fell to injuries.

Cleveland Browns star wide receiver and LSU alum Odell Beckham Jr. is in hot water with the New Orleans Police Department, which has issued an arrest warrant for “simple battery,” for his actions in the aftermath of LSU’s 42-25 victory over Clemson in the College Football Playoff National Championship. Video surfaced earlier this week which shows Beckham slapping an security guard’s rear-end in the LSU locker room, which can be seen below in a video from Complex Sports:

The news comes on the heels of Beckham being seen on video handing out cash to LSU players after the game, which would be in violation of NCAA bylaws if the cash were real. LSU quarterback and Heisman winner Joe Burrow said on the Barstool Sports “Pardon My Take” Podcast that the cash was real earlier this week, though both LSU and the NCAA are looking into the matter.

In the state of Louisiana, punishment for simple battery carries a maximum fine of $1,000 and no more than six months in jail, though there is the possibility of both occurring. It was confirmed by the New Orleans Police Department public affairs office that the security guard in the video is the one who filed the complaint.

“We are aware of the incident and have been in touch with Odell and his representatives on the matter. They are cooperating with the proper authorities to appropriately address the situation,” read a statement issued by the Cleveland Browns on Thursday.

Though one of the premier talents at wide receiver in the NFL, Beckham had a down year by his lofty standards, logging 74 receptions for 1,035 yards and two touchdowns, with a career low of 64.7 yards per game, according to Pro Football Reference.

It will be interesting to see what becomes of the case, and what it means for Beckham and the Browns.

“Who?” That one-word response from New York Jets defensive coordinator Gregg Williams initiated a verbal slugfest that lasted all the way up until the Browns’ thrashing of the Jets on Monday night.

In the week leading up to their matchup, newly-hired Williams spoke out about the Browns’ number one receiver, Odell Beckham Jr., saying that he did not think he was “dynamic” as a player. While it is acknowledged that Williams is certainly entitled to his opinion, the one he espouses is surely not a popular one, seeing as Beckham is not only a former first-round pick and Offensive Rookie of the Year (2014) but also a three-time Pro Bowl selection.

Williams happened upon the head coaching position for the Browns after the mid-season firing of Hue Jackson. However, after helping lead the team to a 7-8-1 record, Williams was swiftly replaced by current Browns head coach Freddie Kitchens. Williams ultimately landed with the Jets as a defensive coordinator and made sure to raise the stakes heading into their Week two matchup by calling out Beckham.

The 26-year-old receiver and his team ultimately got the last laugh after demolishing the Jets 23-3. Beckham, who would finish with 6 catches for 161 yards and a touchdown, capped off the scoring for his team by reeling in a pass from Baker Mayfield and taking it 89 yards to the house for the longest touchdown reception of his career.

Beckham kept his comments short after the big win.

“Everything fuels me,” Beckham said in the post-game press conference. “Good comments about me, bad comments, everything fuels me.”

The emotional wideout also fired back at Williams’ barb with his own identical question to feign confusion.

“Who?” Beckham joked when asked about Williams. “Everybody has a right to their own opinion. He’s a phenomenal coach and he has a great defense, but I’m done talking about it. We won, so I just tried to make plays to help the team.”

Mayfield, on the other hand, came back with a quick jab of his own when asked about that game-sealing touchdown from Beckham.

“It was pretty dynamic,” said the second-year quarterback.

Back-and-forth trash talk aside, the Browns managed to make quick work of the Jets, even with a coach on the other side who was familiar with many of Cleveland’s plays and tendencies.

When asked about Williams after the game, Kitchens only gave brief remarks.

“He did a good job,” said Kitchens of Williams. “Gregg did a good job of combatting some of the things that we had. He wasn’t going to let us beat him deep. He did a very good job.”

While Williams might have been successful in stopping some of the things the Browns did, the one thing neither he nor the Jets were able to stop was Beckham. The wideout torched New York’s defense en route to a win that improved the Browns to 1-1 on the year and dropped the Jets to 0-2.
