2014 Paralympic Winter Games - Closing Ceremony

The 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang have been filled with excitement, and the standings continue to change just two days before the Games end.

2018 Winter Olympics medal count Day 14

Norway still leads the medals race with 37, two more (both silver) than they had on Thursday. Canada has jumped to second with 27 medals (three more than Thursday, one of each kind) to pass Germany, who dropped to third after winning just one medal Friday (a bronze) to bring their total to 26.

Team USA is still fourth with 21 after gaining no hardware on Friday (Pyeongchang time). Canada won gold and silver in women’s ski cross on Friday.

The Netherlands are fifth with 18 (one more than Thursday, a gold) and France are sixth with 15, same as Thursday.

The Olympic Athletes from Russia jumped from eighth to seventh after winning their first gold in figure skating on Thursday, to bring their total to 14. (The Russians also won a silver and lost two bronze after two curlers were caught doping).

Host nation South Korea won a bronze to bring their total to 12, but fell from ninth to tenth.

2014 Paralympic Winter Games - Closing Ceremony

Team USA has broken its deadlock at fifth place in the 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang and climbed to fourth.

The U.S. won five medals Wednesday, including two gold — one of them was the women’s hockey team, who defeated Canada in the final — to bring their total to 21. The Americans now have 8 gold medals, and surpassed the Netherlands, who are fifth after winning just one medal (a gold) to increase their total hardware to 17.

Norway still leads the race with 35 (13 gold), two more (one silver, one bronze) than Tuesday. Germany (25) and Canada (24) are second and third, respectively.

The 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang no longer seem to be a tight race among the top-ranking nations.

Norway still comfortably leads the Games with 33 total medals (13 gold), while second-place Germany has 24 medals (12 gold). Canada is third with 21 (9 gold).

Team USA is still fifth behind the fourth-place Netherlands after winning four medals (1 gold, 1 silver, 2 bronze) on Tuesday. Both countries have the same number of total medals (16) and gold (6).

France is sixth with 14 medals, and the Olympic Athletes from Russia are seventh with 13. Japan (11), Austria (10) and host country South Korea (9) round out the top ten.

Here is the full medal count entering Wednesday (which is now Thursday in Pyeongchang due to the 14-hour time difference), Day 12 of the Olympics:

The 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang have proved a thrilling race that is tight among certain nations, and here is the medal count entering Tuesday.

Winter Olympics 2018 Medal Count Day 11

Norway still leads with 29 medals (11 gold), and Germany (23 total, 11 gold) and Canada (19 total, 8 gold) follow in second and third, respectively.

Team USA is still sixth like it was Monday, although it has two more medals (bronze) to raise their total to 12 (5 gold). American Brita Sigourney finished third in the women’s ski halfpipe, and siblings Alex and Maia Shibutani won bronze in the ice dance free skate final Tuesday.

France has jumped to fifth from eighth with 13 medals (5 gold), winning three medals Tuesday: a gold and two silvers. Martin Fourcade edged Germany’s Simon Schempp to win the men’s 15-kilometer mass biathlon by a tiny margin.

The Olympic Athletes from Russia, who were fifth on Monday, are now seventh after winning no medals Tuesday.

The 2018 Winter Olympics in Pyeongchang have brought much excitement, even though Team USA has not excelled as much as it has in previous Games.

Entering Monday, Norway leads the total medal count with 28, and also boasts the most gold hardware (11). Germany is second with 20 medals (10 gold), and Canada is third with 17 (6 gold).

Team USA has dropped from fifth place to sixth with 10 medals (5 gold). The Americans sit behind fourth-place Netherlands (13) and the fifth-place Olympic Athletes from Russia (11). The U.S. Men’s Hockey Team suffered a brutal 4-0 loss to O.A.R in their last preliminary-round game on Saturday.

Rounding out the top ten countries are Austria, France, Japan (10 medals each) and Sweden (7 medals). Host nation South Korea is 11th with 7 medals (3 gold).
