Former NBA player and Duke men’s basketball player Kyle Singler posted multiple disturbing videos on his Instagram page asking for help and claiming that the former Duke Coach Mike Krzyzewski has “turned the other way.”

While appearing to be dealing with substance abuse and clear mental health issues, he claimed in the videos, which are the only four videos currently up on his Instagram page, that he reached out to Krzyzewski and the message was ignored, and then went on to ramble about how a broad group of people is trying to ruin his life.

“You guys are cutting my power off, breaking into my house, stealing money, ruining my life,” are some of the words he used when describing his situation. He claimed that people are watching him at all times, and that he can’t leave his house. “I’m stuck at my house, and I can’t leave; I feel imprisoned,” he said in one of his other videos.

Singler also blamed Duke for this, claiming that they are “all about it. I got Duke begging for my money. Everybody’s after my money… I reached out to Coach K and all he did was sit me on the bench. Thanks, man.”

He stated that “people are trying to kill me” in one of his videos. He repeatedly used the words “trying to kill me” throughout his series of disturbing posts. He provides no further explanation of why he believes this, but at the end of his rant, he circles back to Coach Krzyzewski.

 “Coach, you got a former player being mistreated and abused and you ain’t doing nothing, man. Help out,” is what Singler closed his third video with.

Singler posted a video in 2024 saying that he fears for his life every day, which was met with support from former youth teammate and NBA player Kevin Love.

No former players or teammates have commented or responded to this series of videos.

Former NBA player Kyle Singler, who starred at Duke and later played for the Oklahoma City Thunder, has been charged with misdemeanor assault following an alleged domestic incident in eastern Oklahoma last week.

According to Haskell County court documents, Singler, 37, faces one count of assault and battery in the presence of a child. The charge stems from an incident last week in Whitefield, Oklahoma, where deputies responded to a 911 call reporting that Singlar was chasing a woman outside a home.

An arrest affidavit states that the woman was Singler’s girlfriend. She told the deputies that Singler grabbed her head and shoved her to the ground. She also added that their young child was present during this altercation. Deputy Mitch Dobbs noted visible marks on the woman’s face and arms are consistent with her account.

Singler was taken into custody on Thursday and booked into the Haskell County jail before being released on a $6000 bond. Authorities said he did not cooperate during questioning and appeared to be under the influence of narcotics at the time of the arrest.

Court records did not list an attorney for Singler, and his former agent, Jason Ranne, confirmed he “no longer represents the former forward.”

Singler was a key member of Duke’s 2010 national championship team, earning Most Outstanding Player honors in the NCAA Tournament. Selected 33rd overall by the Detroit Pistons in 2011, he went on to play five NBA seasons, three in Detroit and parts of four with the Thunder, before his career ended in 2018.
