Footage has leaked, revealing altercations involving boxer Nurideen Shabazz in livestreams hosted by Quinton “Rampage” Jackson.

The first was on Feb. 17, when footage showed Shabazz being slapped by powerlifter Larry Wheels. On Feb. 18, Shabazz was dropped to the ground by former UFC star Tiki Ghosn.

Shabazz was attempting to say hello to Ghosn, but Ghosn didn’t acknowledge him. Shabazz accused Ghosn of lying, saying the two did know each other.

Ghosn then asked Shabazz if he was the guy who got slapped, referring to the slap he received from Wheels the day before. Shabazz told him he was, but that he’d slap Ghosn.

Ghosn looked confused but still defended himself by dropping an elbow strike on Shabazz. Ghosn attempted to walk away, but Shabazz followed him. Shabazz seemed to want to keep fighting, but observers broke it up.

Shabazz is known as “Deen TheGreat” on YouTube. Shabazz started his channel in 2013, where he did boxing training videos. He worked with other famous YouTubers and even professional boxers.

Shabazz made his boxing debut in 2022 against TikTok star Evil Hero. Shabazz knocked him out in the first round. His most recent fight was in 2024, when he defeated Dave Fogarty by knockout. Shabazz has a 5-0 career record, including three knockouts.

Ghosn was a mixed martial arts fighter from 1998 to 2009. He won his final fight against Brian Warren in 2009 with a unanimous decision. This improved Ghosn’s career record to 10-8. Ghosn now runs a sports agency called Arsenal Sports Agency. This company represents several mixed martial arts athletes, including Dustin Poirier.

Shabazz has no official fights scheduled in the near future. However, he often competes in the Danz league. This league features several celebrity boxers like Shabazz and KSI.

Boxers know that they’re putting their bodies on the line, but they would’ve never guessed their hair would be as well.

Jarrell Miller and Kingsley Ibeh faced off on January 31 at Madison Square Garden. During Round 2, Miller’s hairpiece can be seen falling off after a punch from Ibeh. Miller proceeded to throw his hairpiece into the stands. In a postgame interview, Miller admitted that he had lost his natural hair just two days before. He claims he had used an ammonium bleach mix as shampoo by accident.

>SLIDESHOW: 50 MOST-INFAMOUS ATHLETE MUGSHOTS & THE STORIES BEHIND THEM!

“Yo, the s— was like ammonium bleach,” Miller said, “I literally lost my hair like two days ago. So I called my man, he was like, ‘Let me slap that s— on, real quick!’ Ibeh knocked that s— off.”

The accuracy of this story is questionable. Mixing ammonia and bleach together creates chloramine gas. Exposure to this gas can cause coughing, nausea, shortness of breath, and can even lead to unconsciousness and death. According to Verywell Health, one of the most common causes of accidental exposure to chloramine gas is using bleach-based cleaning products in toilets. Urine contains ammonia, which can cause chloramine gas.

Despite losing his hairpiece, Miller went on to win the fight in a split decision. This was his first fight since August 2024. In his last fight, he held Andy Ruiz to a draw.

Miller didn’t seem to be embarrassed by the incident. In his post-fight Instagram post, he made a joke about losing his hair. He also made an AI-generated video of himself driving a car and his toupee falling off in the wind.

Miller is currently not scheduled for another fight as of February 1. His Instagram post did say “on to the next one,” implying he does intend to do another match relatively soon.

Former three-weight champion Gervonta Davis has been arrested after a two-week search.

The arrest warrant was issued on January 14. Courtney Rossel, the ex-girlfriend of Davis, alleges that Davis attacked and restrained her at the club where she worked.

>SLIDESHOW: 50 MOST-INFAMOUS ATHLETE MUGSHOTS & THE STORIES BEHIND THEM!

The Miami Gardens Police Department worked with the United States Marshals to find Davis. The two departments searched three different counties looking for Davis. It’s unclear how he was able to evade custody for two weeks. He was arrested on January 28 without incident. He was booked into Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center later that night.

According to Rossel, the two met in 2022 and dated for five months in 2025. She did not have communication with Davis after their relationship ended. The alleged attack happened on October 27.

Rossel filed a criminal complaint with the Miami Gardens Police Department along with a separate civil lawsuit. Davis is charged with battery, false imprisonment and attempted kidnapping.

Davis was confirmed to be in Miami at the time of the alleged attack. He was training to fight Jake Paul at the Kaseya Center.

Davis was replaced on the ticket by Anthony Joshua due to Davis’ name being involved in a lawsuit we now know is related to this incident. Rossel’s legal team attempted to serve Davis with lawsuits for months without success.  Joshua defeated Paul in six rounds on Dec. 19. Davis last fought in March, where he held Lamont Roach Jr. to a draw.

In 2023, Davis was sentenced to three years of probation and a 90-day house arrest following a hit-and-run case in Baltimore. He was still under this probation at the time of the alleged attack. It’s unclear how his alleged actions in Miami could impact his probation status in Maryland, and there likely won’t be an answer unless Davis is found guilty.

Heavyweight boxing champion Anthony Joshua has broken his silence on the car crash that killed two of his friends.

The crash happened on December 29, 2025, in Nigeria. The group crashed into a stationary truck on the Lagos-Ibadan expressway.

The car, a Lexus SUV, was being driven by Adeniyi Mobolaji Kayode. Kayode was charged with dangerous driving, reckless and negligent driving, driving without due care, and driving without a valid driver’s license.

It’s unclear why Kayode was driving the vehicle. Personal drivers must undergo extensive background checks, including verifying that they have a valid license and a clean record.

Joshua’s two friends were Sina Ghami and Kevin “Latif” Ayodele. Ayodele and Joshua had been friends since they were ten. Joshua and Ayodele both met Ghami in their teenage years.

Ayodele had several stints with non-league football teams in the United Kingdom. After his playing career, he created a business, Healthy Mindset. He built an app that helped people train physically and improve their mental health. He was a frequent donor to the SPOT project, which built schools and orphanages in Gambia, a country in West Africa. He also helped with Joshua’s training.

Memorial services were held for Ayodele and Ghami. Joshua was in attendance, but had stayed silent until recently. On January 8, Joshua posted on Instagram to break his silence on the matter.

“I’ll just be walking with them and cracking jokes with them, not even knowing God kept me in the presence of great men,” Joshua said.

“100% it’s tough for me, but I know it’s even tougher for their parents.” Joshua said, “I have a strong mind, and I believe God knows their hearts. May God have mercy on my brothers.”

“The WBA and the boxing world mourn the passing of Arturo Gatti Jr.,” the statement said. “His journey was just beginning, yet his spirit will live on – now reunited with his legendary father among the stars.”

The 17-year-old boxer was found dead in Mexico City in an apartment. Officials have not released any details about the cause of death.

Jake Paul will fight professional boxer Gervonta “Tank” Davis in November, with the event being broadcasted by Netflix.

The fight will take place at State Farm Arena in Atlanta later this year, with Netflix once again hosting the event like last year’s fight between the YouTuber-turned-boxer and Mike Tyson. The fight was widely criticized due to Tyson’s advance age.

Paul has also been accused of “rigging” his fights, and he has recently threatened to take legal action against his accusers.

Paul has already taken shots at Davis on his X account.

“Gervonta who has been disrespecting my name for too long,” he wrote on Wednesday. “His nickname might be Tank, but I’m a FPV drone and I’m about to disable tiny boy.”

Davis is yet to taste defeat in his professional boxing career, boasting a 30-0-1 record since 2013. His last fight ended in a draw with Lamont Roach Jr. on March 1 in New York City.

A scheduled rematch against Roach in August was canceled after being arrested a month earlier on charges of misdemeanor battery. According to Miami-Dade County Corrections and Rehabilitation records, an argument erupted when Davis arrived at his ex-girlfriend’s house on Father’s Day to pick up their children. The argument between to two turned physical, according to the report.

The case was dropped on Aug. 12 after his ex-girlfriend refrained from prosecuting.

November’s fight will be Paul’s first time back in the ring since defeating Julio César Chávez Jr. by unanimous decision at the end of June. The 28-year-old holds a 12-1 record in professional boxing, winning seven times by knockout.

Morelle McCane’s journey to the Paris Olympics as a boxer began with a casual workout.

“It started off as a workout,” McCane told uSports exclusively. “My niece was in it first, and I took her to the gym. I was like, let me practice with you, and I just fell in love with it.”

Despite its physical toll, McCane quickly became enamored with the rigorous training. “I fell in love with the whole process—the running, the crying and screaming, and the black eye that I got for the first time practicing,” she said.

McCane’s initial encounter with boxing was challenging. The sport’s physical demands, from intense cardio sessions to sparring matches that often left her bruised, could have easily deterred a less determined individual. However, for McCane, each obstacle served as fuel for her ambition: “It was just motivation to get better.”

Her journey from a novice boxer to an Olympic hopeful shows her hard work and dedication. “And now, we’re here on a grand scale, so everything paid off,” she reflected.

Oleksandr Usyk cemented his legacy as a boxing legend by dethroning Tyson Fury in a heavyweight clash that captivated the world at the Kingdom Arena in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

Usyk entered the ring with the WBA, IBF and WBO belts and emerged victorious, capturing Fury’s WBC and lineal titles to become the undisputed heavyweight champion. This moment marked the first time since Lennox Lewis in 2000 that boxing had an undisputed heavyweight champion.

The fight reached its climax in the ninth round when Usyk displayed his accuracy and precision, which had almost ended the bout, handing Fury an eight count, tipping the scales in his favor. The judges’ scorecards reflected the tightly contested nature of the bout: two scored it 115-112 and 114-113 for Usyk, while the third judge had it 114-113 for Fury.

Both fighters actively used their jabs in the opening rounds, but Usyk set the pace. His significant shots, including a looping left hook late in the first round and a solid two-punch combination at the start of the second, signaled his early dominance. As the third round commenced, Usyk continued his forward momentum, though Fury started to find his rhythm, landing combinations and effective body shots despite fighting off his back foot.

Fury began to make his presence felt in the fourth round, landing a hard right uppercut early on and a powerful right to the body, briefly forcing Usyk to retreat. The sixth round saw Fury land another big right uppercut that stunned Usyk, causing the Ukrainian to cover up momentarily. Sensing an opportunity, Fury taunted Usyk while maintaining a steady stream of sharp jabs.

The seventh round displayed both fighters’ tenacity. Fury connected with another uppercut, but Usyk responded with a straight right hand and a combination that closed the round. Usyk’s heart and determination shone in the eighth round as he delivered a three-punch combination that forced Fury onto the ropes. A powerful overhand left and a looping right hand in the closing seconds of the round began to swell Fury’s right eye visibly.

Round nine was pivotal. Usyk returned to his aggressive strategy, pinning Fury against the ropes and landing a massive left hand. Sensing vulnerability, Usyk unleashed a barrage of hard combinations that staggered Fury. The referee ruled it a knockdown as the round ended, solidifying Usyk’s control.

As the tenth round began, Usyk kept Fury cornered, carefully selecting his moments to attack. The eleventh round saw Usyk continue his pursuit, catching Fury with another hard left to the chin and closing with a big right.

This bout showed Usyk’s skill and strategic prowess. His ability to adapt, withstand pressure and capitalize on crucial moments defines him as one of the greatest fighters in modern boxing. For Fury, it was a reminder of the unforgiving nature of the sport and the challenge posed by an opponent like Usyk.

Influencer Jake Paul will take on former heavyweight boxing champion Mike Tyson in a boxing match on July 20. The fight will air live on Netflix, marking the streaming giant’s first venture into live combat sports.

The event will take place at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas, which boasts a capacity of around 80,000. It is unclear whether the fight will be a professional bout or an exhibition match, as the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation has yet to make a designation for it.

Tyson, who will be 58 in July, has not fought professionally since 2005 and last participated in an exhibition match against Roy Jones Jr. in 2020. Paul, 27, made his second professional appearance on the Tyson/Jones undercard, defeating retired basketball player Nate Robinson by knockout in the second round.

“It’s crazy to think that in my second pro fight, I went viral for knocking out Nate Robinson on Mike Tyson’s undercard,” Paul said in a statement. “Now, less than four years later, I’m stepping up to face Tyson myself to see if I have what it takes to beat one of boxing’s most notorious fighters and biggest icons.”

Paul has gained considerable attention in the boxing world in recent years, earning highly publicized victories against aging fighters and celebrities in different circles. He won his last fight earlier this month against 35-year-old journeyman Ryan Bourland in Puerto Rico.

Tyson is remembered in boxing as one of the most aggressive and tenacious fighters ever, but his opponent in this 2024 fight will be 30 years younger than him. It is the culmination of a years-long branding effort for Paul, but it will be unfamiliar territory for Tyson.

“[Paul has] grown significantly as a boxer over the years, so it will be a lot of fun to see what the will and ambition of a ‘kid’ can do with the experience and aptitude of a GOAT,” Tyson said in a statement. “It’s a full-circle moment that will be beyond thrilling to watch, as I started him on his boxing journey on the undercard of my fight with Roy Jones, and now I plan to finish him.”

Netflix has begun an aggressive foray into live sports in recent months, airing live tennis and golf specials in recent months. “Paul vs. Tyson” is sure to provide a massive spectacle, as Paul’s MVP Promotions has successfully turned the influencer’s boxing career into a viral sensation, much to the chagrin of traditional boxing fans.

“Within just two and a half years of founding MVP, we’re about to produce the biggest fight in history, a fight in the biggest NFL stadium in the US, broadcast live, on the biggest streaming platform in the world — a testament to all we’ve accomplished in such a short amount of time.”

‘Tank” has been in the headlines quite often recently.

Boxer Gervonta Davis had a seventh-round TKO victory over Ryan Garcia in the biggest fight of his career last month only then to be sentenced to three years probation and 200 hours of community service two weeks after.

The 28-year-old will be behind bars for a hit-and-run crash after violating the rules of his home detention. This sentence will be served for 90 days, as he was supposed to spend it at trainer Calvin Ford‘s house after pleading guilty last month to four counts stemming from a November 2020 crash that injured four people, including a pregnant woman.

Instead of spending his sentence at Ford’s house, “Tank” spent it at a Four Seasons Hotel and a penthouse condo that he bought in Silo Point, Baltimore. This was done without permission, as the Maryland state’s attorney’s office confirmed.

Baltimore Circuit Court Judge Althea Handy, who presided over Davis’s case, did not give permission for either move and as a result ordered Davis to serve out the remainder of his three-month sentence at the city’s jail in Baltimore, Maryland.

His former attorney, Michael Tomko, indicated that the address his client gave at sentencing for serving his home detention was too small for the boxer and his security detail, state’s attorney’s office spokesperson Emily Witty said in a statement.

However, Davis hired a new attorney, Andrew Graham, who filed an emergency motion seeking his release, stating the boxing champion did not intend to disobey a judge with the move.

This dispute comes a few days after his Florida mansion was robbed, as Tomko wrote that personal belongings including “prized boxing regalia” and “several collector automobiles” were stolen from his client’s home in Parkland, Florida. Broward County Sheriff’s Office is investigating the robbery that happened on June 2, alongside the “possible existence of other threats” to Davis.

Until the sentence is served, the “face of boxing” with a 29-0 boxing record with 27 knockouts will not be able to get back into the ring and capitalize on his win against Garcia in the lightweight match that was in Las Vegas in April.

Jake Paul ran away from an altercation with boxer Floyd Mayweather Jr. after a Miami Heat game, accusing Mayweather of ambushing him with a group of at least 50 people. Other reports of the incident contradict this, however.

Mayweather fought Paul’s brother, Logan Paul, in June 2021. Jake stole Mayweather’s hat during a press conference leading up to the event, which exacerbated tensions and reportedly led to someone from Mayweather’s entourage giving the YouTuber a black eye backstage. The two have maintained a rivalry ever since.

“I’m leaving the Miami Heat game, and Floyd Mayweather and 50 dudes pull up out of nowhere, out of like some side alley waiting for me outside of the stadium,” Paul said in a video shortly after the altercation. “And they’re like, ‘So what’s up? So what’s all that talk now?’ I’m like, ‘First of all, what did I say to you, Floyd? I just took your hat and you’re still mad about it. Come on, bro. And then 50 dudes literally start surrounding me to try and jump me. I’m out that [expletive], okay. Do you want to run it one on one? No problem. But I’m not dumb, okay.”

Footage of the altercation between Paul and Mayweather didn’t show the level of intensity that Paul described. Though some members of Mayweather’s group yelled at Paul and one individual seemed to reach for him as he ran away, there did not appear to be any attack attempted on the former Disney Channel actor.

A fight between Mayweather and Paul has been a source of speculation since the two began their viral feud, with both men doing their part to instigate conflict. After six straight victories to begin his boxing career, Paul lost his first fight against Tommy Fury last month. He now plans to make his MMA debut with the Professional Fighters League later this year.

Unified heavyweight champion Oleksandr Usyk shared photos of his home in Vorzel, Ukraine, on Tuesday following the withdrawal of the Russian military from the area. While they occupied the area, Russian troops destroyed and vandalized the home during a break-in while Usyk was preparing for a fight in Saudi Arabia.

The photos of Usyk and his wife, Yekaterina Usyk, in their liberated home were seen by more than a million followers, as the boxer has become an international symbol for the Ukrainian military effort. In Sept. 2021, Usyk defeated Anthony Joshua for the WBA (Super), IBF, WBO and IBO heavyweight titles. But after war broke out on the Ukrainian border in February, Usyk’s boxing career became a second priority.

After serving for several weeks on Ukraine’s territorial defense battalion, Usyk learned that the government was going to allow him to leave the country in order to train for his rematch with Joshua. He told reporters he didn’t want to leave.

“I really didn’t want to leave our country, I didn’t want to leave our city,” Usyk said.

Eventually, Usyk chose to leave for training, having been convinced that he could fight for his country by representing the cause abroad. In August, he successfully defended his title against Joshua, winning by split decision after 12 rounds. He also picked up the The Ring heavyweight title, which was vacated after Tyson Fury’s retirement.

The photos Usyk posted to his Instagram story on Tuesday were the first of him in Vorzel in months. In April, Usyk’s wife posted photos of their partially destroyed property featuring a scathing caption deriding Russian troops. On Tuesday, the couple stood outside their home with the Ukrainian banner flying.

Boxing Junkie reported Thursday afternoon that Usyk’s next fight may be between the winner of the match between Deontay Wilder and Robert Helenius on Oct. 15. Usyk remains undefeated in 20 career fights, including 13 wins by knockout.

Multiple reports have confirmed that Jake Paul’s next in-ring opponent will be UFC legend Anderson Silva. The match will take place in October. Paul was supposed to fight Hasim Rahman Jr. in July but refused to fight Rahman after the former heavyweight failed to make weight failed to make weight.

Paul is set to fight Silva, who won the UFC Middleweight Championship and held it for 2,457 days from 2006 to 2013. Despite spending most of his career in mixed martial arts, Silva has performed as a boxer in multiple stints over the course of his career. He holds a 3-1 record and won both of his professional bouts in 2021.

Paul, meanwhile, has earned more respect as a fighter recently after defeating another UFC legend, Tyron Woodley, in two straight matches in 2021, including a knockout in December. He continues to take criticism, however, for scheduling fights with overmatched opponents, or fighters with name recognition who are either old or unfamiliar with the sport. Silva fits both of these latter descriptions as a 47-year-old UFC retiree with limited experience in the ring.

In the months leading up to his fight against Rahman, Paul’s team, Most Valuable Promotions, demanded that his opponent weigh 200 pounds on the day of the fight. Once weighing in at 260 pounds, Rahman initially agreed to these terms but later complained that it wasn’t feasible. The two subsequently accused one another of running away from the fight.

Addressing rumors of a match between Paul and Silva, UFC President Dana White seemed exasperated but admitted that it would be a test for Paul.

“If he’s really fighting Anderson Silva, and that’s true, it’s about time he’s got a real fight on his hands there,” White told reporters at a press conference. “Regardless of how old Anderson is, yeah, that’s a real fight.”

An official announcement from Paul’s team will likely be announced next week.

A boxing pay-per-view card scheduled for Aug. 6 at Madison Square Garden featuring Jake Paul and Hasim Rahman Jr. has been canceled due to a weight issue involving Rahman. The heavyweight boxer initially agreed to fight at 200 pounds but notified Paul’s Most Valuable Promotions (MVP) Saturday that he planned to weigh 215 pounds.

In a release from MVP, Paul’s team explained that Rahman signed an agreement on July 5 that he would weigh no more than 200 pounds on the night of his fight against Paul on Aug. 6.

“Since weighing in at 216 lbs on July 7, Rahman and his camp have offered assurance after assurance publicly and privately that he was on track to make weight … going as far as to provide a letter signed by a recognized nutritionist that his weight cut was progressing without issue,” the statement said.

Despite Rahman’s agreement to cut his weight to 200 pounds, he still remained 215 pounds with less than one week remaining before the fight. MVP claimed that Paul and his team attempted to compromise, offering Rahman a fight at 205 pounds. The fight was canceled after Rahman’s team disagreed to those terms.

“MVP and Jake Paul will not reward someone that has conducted themselves in such a deceiving and calculated manner,” the statement said.

Following the cancellation, Rahman has been very vocal on Twitter, arguing that it wasn’t possible for him to lose the weight necessary to compete. He also blamed Paul for canceling the fight.

“Why am I weighing in two and three weeks before the fight? I didn’t even get a chance to hit the scale on Aug. 5 like the contract said. How the fight off on me when THEY canceled the event,” Rahman said on Twitter.

Though the two main event fighters have been at the center of attention, many other fighters are affected by the cancellation. Three other matches were supposed to occur in Madison Square Garden on Aug. 6, including a co-main event between unified women’s featherweight champion Amanda Serrano and Brenda Carabajal. But without Paul and Rahman, the event is no longer feasible from a promotional standpoint. MVP confirmed that all tickets and pay-per-view purchases will be refunded.

Another fight between Connor McGregor and Floyd Mayweather is picking up some steam – but one major obstacle is standing in the way.

In regards to the fight, the personal terms have been reportedly agreed to.

Should the two square off again in a boxing ring, it would be at 155-pounds.

However, the Notorious McGregor wants a 10-round match – and not an exhibition fight.

“Connor will only take the fight providing Floyd is willing to put his professional record on the line – so the fight will not be an exhibition, it will be an official fight,” a source close to Mayweather’s camp told The Sun

Previously Mayweather fought YouTuber Logan Paul in an eight-round boxing match in Miami.

Although Paul was unremarkably outclassed by Mayweather, no winner was announced.

The first time McGregor faced Mayweather, the fight ended in the 10th round.

Mayweather won by technical knockout (TKO) after McGregor started to fatigue.

One judge credited McGregor with wins in three of the first 10 rounds.

Reportedly, Mayweather earned $280 million from the fight, while McGregor made $130 million.

This time around, McGregor is coming off a gruesome broken leg that suffered in his latest UFC fight against Dustin Poirier.

Meanwhile, Dana White told TMZ Sports in June that he was hoping McGregor would return by the end of the year or early in 2023 as he was “starting to ramp up his training.”

White at the time said that he was looking to match him up with Michael Chandler, who is coming off a big knockout win against Tony Ferguson

Chandler, who fights at 155-pounds, called out McGregor in a post-fight interview in the octagon.

“I want you at your biggest, your baddest, your best,” Chandler said.

“Me and you at 170. This summer, this fall, this winter.”

Now we wait to see if McGregor’s next fight will be in the octagon or against Mayweather in a boxing arena.

The Notorious one has not won a fight since knocking out Donald Cerrone in January 2020.

One of the biggest draws in boxing in 2022 is YouTube star, Jake Paul. His August 6 matchup in Madison Square Garden is one of the highly anticipated bouts this year, so when his opponent Tommy Fury decided to withdraw last week, there was a cloud of uncertainty that hung over Paul’s boxing future due to the short notice.

However, a replacement has been found. Hasim Rahman Jr. has stepped in to replace Fury and fight Paul on August 6 at Madison Square Garden in New York City. The match will be an eight-round exhibition contested at 200 pounds and will be broadcasted on Showtime Pay-per-View.

The bout comes in the wake of criticism from fans that Paul does not fight real boxers, but rather just older MMA fighters and athletes in other sports. Paul believes that Rahman will be a better opponent and will prove a better challenge than Fury would be, “I’m literally crazy,” Paul said. “There’s no reason why I should be taking this fight. … I want to prove to the boxing world that I’m a real dog, which I am. And I’m gonna go in there against this 12-1 kid who is bigger than Tommy Fury, faster than Tommy Fury – all of these things. And I’m gonna put on the performance of a lifetime and just shut everyone up.”

Rahman Jr. is the son of the former heavyweight champion of the same name, although not well known, he still provides a tough challenge for Paul. The YouTuber’s business partner Nakisa Bidarian told the media that he advised Paul to not take the fight with Rahman. Paul’s brother Logan Paul and Amanda Serrano, who is slated to box in the double event with Paul on Aug. 6, also told him to postpone the card.

“I don’t see the benefit of doing the fight at this stage, given all the other opportunities that are there for Jake. He can prove himself against a 6-0 boxer or a 5-0 boxer, someone who is just there to build their record to lose to someone like Jake. That’s not what he wanted; he wanted to truly challenge himself. Him and his coaching team believe that they can beat Hasim Rahman Jr. They believe they can finish Hasim Rahman Jr.” Bidarian said.

Paul has previously defeated UFC Welterweight champion Tyron Woodley, MMMA Champion Ben Askren and retired NBA player Nate Robinson.

In a nationally televised South African boxing match, Simiso Buthelezi collapsed in the corner of the ring. A few days later, the boxer was dead. The fight was between Buthelezi and Siphesihle Mnutungwa on June 3. Buthelezi died two days later after slipping into a coma.

The flight was a difficult one, getting all the way to the tenth round before officials ended the fight prematurely. Prior to this, Buthelezi had become disoriented during the fight. After knocking Mntungwa to the ropes, the official separated the fighters. However, when the boxers were prepared to box again, Buthelezi turned away from Mntungwa and started throwing punches in the air before slumping against the ropes, by then the official had stopped the fight. Buthelezi was rushed to the hospital where he died on Tuesday due to bleeding in the brain.

The bout between the two was for the WBF African lightweight title, which Mnutngwa would subsequently take. Since then, Mntungwa has said he’s received backlash from fans and neighbors alike, the backlash that has led him to suicidal thoughts, “I came into heavy criticism and received insults on social media platforms when Simiso was hospitalised; it has taken another level now that he has passed away,” Mntungwa told reporters, “All I wanted was to win the title, which maybe was going to help change my life and that of my family. I am the only one working at home, where I stay with my young brother, my aunt, and her children.”

The events of that title fight were brought up during a match between Alexis Angulo and Edgar Berlanga, broadcasted on ESPN. During the fight, ESPN broadcaster Tim Bradley referenced the now-viral video of Buthelezi boxing the air saying, “I’ve seen worse. There’s a video circulating right now where a guy actually knocked another guy out of the ring. He got back in the ring and the other guy actually started boxing a ghost in the corner.”

Bradley later apologized for the comments, saying he was unaware that Buthelezi had passed away, “I want to take the time out right now and apologize for that last statement that I made about that guy that was actually punching someone in the corner. He actually passed away a few days ago. I had no clue that he passed away, and I just want to give my utmost apologies to his family and to his loved ones.”

Boxing South Africa is currently conducting an independent medical review of the incident.

It was a star-studded affair at Turning Stone as Floyd Mayweather Jr. was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame on Sunday. The undefeated boxer was emotional as he took the stage to be enshrined in the immortal hall alongside legendary names across various boxing spaces.

Mayweather is one of the most decorated boxers of all time. Nicknamed “Money,” Mayweather has a record of 50-0. He is often regarded as one of the best defensive boxers in history, and he is statistically the most accurate puncher in the modern era, having the highest plus-minus ratio in recorded history. This along with his record 26 consecutive wins in title fights makes him one of the best boxers of all time.

The 45-year-old was originally slated to be enshrined last year as he was a part of the Class of 2021, but the Covid-19 pandemic had caused the suspension of the 2020, 2021 and 2022 ceremonies. This made the June 9-12 affair one of the largest boxing events in recent memory. The induction, dubbed “Trilogy,” can be seen as one of the best classes of all time if viewed as one even.

Some of the honorees from the event include Juan Manuel Marquez, Miguel Cotto and Roy Jones. The ceremony included a few historic enshrinements including the first female fighters to be enshrined. These include Christy Martin, Lucia Rijker, Holly Holm and Laila Ali, daughter of legendary boxer Muhammad Ali. For Ali, this event was especially memorable because her induction came on her 54th birthday, and he first win came in October 1999 at the same venue, Turning Stone.

Missing from the induction was former heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko as he is helping his brother, Vitali, also a Hall-of-Famer and current mayor of Ukraine’s capital city Kyiv, with the Russian-Ukrainian conflict.

As for Mayweather, the Michigan-native could not hold his emotion during his speech before induction. “I want to say thank you to everybody for your support. I want to tell all the fighters – thank you, you guys are remarkable. There wouldn’t be no me without you guys,” Mayweather said. “I have done a lot in my career, but this is by far the best, I want to thank the International Boxing Hall of Fame for giving me this. This right here is going to my dad because he deserves it. Bernard Hopkins said it best, ‘You’ve got to earn it,’ and my dad earned this ring.”

It’s the slap worth $30 million.

YouTuber-turned-boxer Jake Paul has offered Will Smith and Chris Rock $15 million each to box, following their slap controversy at Sunday’s Oscars.

Violence broke out when Smith stormed up to host Rock and slapped him for making a joke about his wife Jada Pinkett Smith‘s hair just minutes before he won Best Actor. A rambling, sobbing acceptance speech led Smith to say “love makes you do crazy things.” However, the Fresh Prince actor did not apologize to Rock—just the Academy and his fellow nominees.

“Keep my wife’s name out of your f—ing mouth,” Smith could be heard saying when he made his way back to his seat.

Rock replied, “I’m going to, ok?” prior to some nervous laughter and then, “That was the greatest night in the history of television.”

About a half-hour later, Smith was given the Best Actor award and apologized, though not to Rock. Rock declined to press charges.

“I want to apologize to the Academy, I want to apologize to all my fellow nominees,” Smith said in his acceptance speech. “Art imitates life. I look like the crazy father, just like they said. I look like the crazy father just like they said about Richard Williams. But love will make you do crazy things.

“I’m hoping the Academy invites me back. Thank you.”

Paul, unbeaten in five pro fights, tweeted, “Nah this is crazy ahah.”

He added an offer for $15 million each to Smith and Rock to box on the undercard of his August fight against a yet-to-be-determined opponent. Paul’s last fight came in December 2021 when he “embarrassed” former UFC champion Tyron Woodley.

Mike Tyson just put a pin in any hopes the public had of seeing a fight between the “Baddest Man on the Planet” and YouTube-star-turned-boxer Jake Paul.

“This is new to me,” Tyson tweeted on Monday. “I saw Jake in St. Barths and he never mentioned it.”

It was recently reported by myriad outlets that “[a] verbal deal has been struck to get it on, but like all forms of sports business, now it’s all about the contracts and money split… Mike is looking for a certain figure to get into the ring with a profit share guarantee.”

However, a tweet straight from the horse’s mouth has ixnayed that potential high-profile exhibition bout.

Tyson, of course, was at one point the most feared boxer in the world and is considered one of the greatest heavyweights of all time. “Iron Mike” fought from 1985 to 2005

Paul is a social media personality who began his boxing career in August 2018. He rose to fame on the Vine social media app before landing the role of Dirk Mann on Disney Channel’s Bizaardvark for two seasons.

He has come under fire for his YouTube videos in the past due to trespassing and other related charges.
