Aaron Judge became the fastest player to reach 300 career home runs Wednesday, hitting a three-run blast off reliever Chad Kuhn in the top of the eighth inning. By achieving the feat in his 955th MLB game, he became the only player to reach the milestone within 1,000 games.

“It’s a great achievement,” Judge said after the game. “Like I said a couple days ago, I was hoping it would come in a win. It came in a big win for us. We were down for a little bit, couldn’t get much going, so I was just excited it was there in a big moment.”

Judge’s 3,431st career at-bat wasn’t necessarily a game-changer, as the Yankees were already in the midst of a massive rally. Down 2-1 going into the seventh inning, New York eventually scored nine unanswered runs against Chicago in two innings and cruised to a 10-2 win.

If anything, the White Sox were asking for it. With a runner on second and one out, Kuhn intentionally walked Juan Soto, who had homered four times in his last six at-bats, in order to pitch to Judge. Despite getting a 3-0 count, Judge admitted after the game that he felt disrespected and swung away to send the inside pitch screaming out of the ballpark.

“I was mad about the intentional walk. So that kind of fueled it,” Judge told YES Network. “Usually 3-0, I’ll take a pitch, see a pitch, pass it on to the next guy. But in that situation, if they want to pitch to you, you gotta come through.”

As a historical marker, however, the 361-foot shot to left field against the lowly White Sox puts Judge among the greatest hitters in the history of the sport.

In 1953, Ralph Kiner hit his 300th home run in his 1,087th game, making his mark as an all-time great before being forced into an early retirement. Before him, Babe Ruth reached 300 in the fewest at-bats, specifically his 3,831st in 1925. Judge shattered both records Wednesday, putting him on an unprecedented trajectory in his ninth MLB season.

At age 32, Judge is likely going to run out of time before he can challenge the likes of Barry Bonds and Hank Aaron on the all-time home run list. It’s abundantly clear that he’s still in his prime, however, and with his foreseeable future on the Yankees sealed, it’s impossible to know how much damage he will do by the time curtains close.

Aaron Judge didn’t hit a home run Wednesday night against the Pittsburgh Pirates. If that doesn’t sound like news to you, then you haven’t been watching him lately.

In his last 30 games for the New York Yankees, Judge has been on an unstoppable tear, hitting .396 with 14 home runs and 27 RBIs. With 60 homers this season and 14 games remaining, the star outfielder has already tied Babe Ruth’s mythic 1927 total and is one away from tying the American League record of 61, set by fellow Yankee Roger Maris in 1961.

Judge hit his 60th in the bottom of the ninth inning against the Pirates on Tuesday, resulting in a dogpile of Yankees fans in the left-center field stands. After more than a century of baseball, he became just the sixth player to hit 60 home runs in a single season, joining Ruth, Maris, Barry Bonds, Sammy Sosa and Mark McGwire. The Yankees went on to win the game 9-8 on a walkoff grand slam by Giancarlo Stanton.

Though Judge failed to tie Maris’ record in the Yankees’ 14-2 victory over Pittsburgh Wednesday, his 2-for-4 performance still furthered his quest for another prestigious title. With 60 home runs and 128 RBIs, he comfortably leads the American League in both categories. The Triple Crown is well within reach, as his .317 batting average ties him for the A.L.-high with Boston Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts.

Judge’s historic season, in which he is almost certain to earn MVP honors, could not have come at a better time, as he is about to become one of the most highly sought free agents in recent memory.

The Yankees will likely do everything in their power to resign him, as losing the face of their franchise would lead to significant upheaval from fans. But they aren’t alone; initial reports suggest that the San Francisco Giants, New York Mets and Los Angeles Dodgers are all willing to spend for the star.

Before agents and new contracts take over, however, Judge still has 14 games remaining in the regular season, an opportunity to emphatically cement his legacy in the record books. A playoff run with the Yankees will follow, at which point his personal achievements will only matter as much as his ability to lead his team to a championship.

Los Angeles Angels star Shohei Ohtani is continuing to impress all with his excellent play and milestones.

One of those milestones was becoming the fastest member of the Angels to reach 25 home runs on Sunday. It only took him 77 team games and that is something not even Mike Trout accomplished.

Ohtani homered in the top of the ninth inning to extend the Angels’ lead to 6-4 over the Tampa Bay Rays. Los Angeles held on for a 6-4 win and snapped a five-game losing streak behind Ohtani’s performance.

Ohtani is currently in the midst of a historic season. He is among baseball’s leaders in home runs (26), RBI’s (60) and OPS (1.031). As a pitcher, he has a 2.58 ERA in 11 starts, and 82 strikeouts across 59 ¹/₃ innings.

Ohtani also surpassed a huge milestone by becoming one of two players in American League history to produce 25+ home runs, 10+ stolen bases and 75+ pitching strikeouts in his career. The only other player to achieve that feat is baseball legend Babe Ruth.

On Monday, the Japanese batter/pitcher made another highlight by hitting his 26th home run against the New York Yankees. On the first pitch and his first swing, he delivered a home run deep to right field in Yankee stadium.

“I’m telling you [he likes the big moment],” Angels manager Joe Maddon said of Ohtani, who did go hitless in his next three at-bats, striking out twice. “It was just the right way to start his trip to New York with him hitting a home run.”

The Angels star is blossoming into one of the game’s most exciting players.

Shohei Ohtani showed off his two-way ability on Sunday. The Los Angeles Angels designated Ohtani as their designated hitter for Sunday’s game against the Chicago White Sox.

Ohtani got off to a strong first inning. The starting pitcher faced Tim AndersonAdam Eaton, Jose Abreu, and Yoan Moncada. The pitcher forced Anderson out with a ground out, struck out Eaton and walked Abreu. The pitcher ended the half-inning with another ground out of Moncada.

In that inning, Ohtani threw three pitches that went above 100 mph, and his first pitch of the game was 98 mph. The highest pitch he threw was above 101 mph and a 100.6-mph fastball to Eaton.

While his pitching went fantastic, Ohtani did not end it there. The pitcher was also the designated hitter for the game, so he came to bat and was second in the batting order. The pitcher came up to the batter box to face White Sox’s starting pitcher Dylan Cease.

Cease only threw one pitch to Ohtani because he crushed the ball for a 450 feet home run.

Ohtani now owns the hardest pitch thrown so far and the hardest-hit home run with 115.2 mph. The accomplishment did not end there. Ohtani became the first starting pitcher to hit a home run within the first seven spots of the batting order. The last time that happened was by Babe Ruth in 1933.

Unfortunately, Ohtani was pulled from the game after an ankle injury in the fifth inning. The starting pitcher finished the game with two hits, one earned run allowed, and seven strikeouts in 4 2/3 innings. As a batter, he finished one for three and an RBI.

After the game, Ohtani was happy with his performance in the game. “I’m glad I got this game under my belt,” Ohtani told reporters, “It will lead to more confidence.”

“There’s a huge difference with the fans, it helps me concentrate at the plate and on the mound. Ohtani said, “I feel like I get that extra push and extra gear.”

The Angels beat the White Sox 7-4.

On December 17, Grey Flannel Auctions decided to unload countless memorabilia in their Holiday Catalog Auction: this lot had everything from fight worn Mike Tyson shorts to a “Dr. J” game used jersey. But of course, there were a few items that are more important than others. Specifically the Babe Ruth hat, which went for the highest amount in the auction: the hat the “Great Bambino” wore on his tour through Japan pre-WWII was bought for a whopping $303,277.

On top of this, the auctioneer unloaded a baseball signed by the 1932 New York Yankees for around $115,242: signed by the likes of Babe Ruth, Lou Gehrig and countless other Yankee legends. The Babe Ruth memorabilia went for the highest by far, but a game used cap from Joe DiMaggio’s 1937 season topped the signed baseball with a sales prices of $151,652.

And finally, another great item that was auctioned off was Michael Jordan’s 1981-1982 game worn sneakers from his days at the University of North Carolina. This was the year that Michael Jordan lead UNC to an NCAA title win over Georgetown. And on top of being game worn, these were also signed by the living legend himself: as for the final price for these historic sneakers, $33,378.
