After five productive seasons with the Detroit Lions, Stephen Tulloch‘s career in the Motor City has come to an end.
He thanked the Lions and Detroit community in an Instagram post:
The team reportedly told Tulloch, 31, that he will be cut once the new league year begins on March 9. By cutting Tulloch, who was due $7.6 million in 2016, the Lions will save about $6 million in salary cap space.
Tulloch was drafted by the Tennessee Titans in the fourth round of the 2006 Draft out of North Carolina State. He played his first five seasons with the team before leaving for Detroit in free agency.
He racked up over 100 tackles in 6 of the 7 years between both the Titans and Lions, only falling short in 2014, when he tore is ACL celebrating a sack of Aaron Rodgers.
