Stephen Curry is not happy with the latest Sports Illustrated cover.
The two-time MVP lambasted the magazine for leaving Colin Kaepernick off the cover of this week’s issue.
According to Yahoo Sports, Sports Illustrated’s executive editor Stephen Cannella attempted to explain the publication’s decision to omit Kaepernick by saying, “What we wanted to capture with this cover [was], yes, the news of the weekend. But we thought the enduring message of what we saw, especially on Sunday in the NFL, was this sense of unity.”
Also featured on the cover are James, Warriors coach Steve Kerr, Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett and Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers. Kaepernick remains unsigned after protesting the national anthem in August 2016, a move that has sparked dozens of similar protests across major sports leagues.
