Steelers unveil new throwback jerseys
The Pittsburgh Steelers on Wednesday shared images of their new “throwback” jerseys for the upcoming NFL season.
The uniforms are meant to pay homage to the Super Bowl XIII championship team from 1978. Steelers wideout JuJu Smith-Schuster showed off the new jersey for a small group of fans at Heinz Field on Wednesday. Multiple players from the 1978 championship team were present, including John Banaszak and Franco Harris.
“We felt it was time to throw it back to the 1970s and the great teams we had,” Steelers president Art Rooney II explained.
