Spurs Re-Sign Jordan McLaughlin To One-Year Contract

The San Antonio Spurs re-signed point guard Jordan McLaughlin to a one-year contract Monday night. The veteran guard will earn $3.3 million during the 2026-27 season.

McLaughlin joined San Antonio from the Sacramento Kings as part of the De’Aaron Fox trade during the 2024-25 season. Last season, he averaged 2.0 points in 6.4 minutes over 44 regular-season appearances. The Spurs brought him back to provide veteran leadership and depth to one of the NBA’s youngest backcourts.

Before entering the NBA, McLaughlin starred at USC for four seasons, helping lead the Trojans to the NCAA Tournament during the 2015-16 campaign. He averaged 13.4 points per game while shooting 47 percent from the field that season. McLaughlin entered his senior year on the Bob Cousy Award preseason watch list before earning First-Team All-Pac-12 honors. He also became just the third player in Pac-12 history to record at least 1,600 career points and 600 assists.

McLaughlin is expected to continue serving as a veteran presence off the bench as San Antonio develops its young core. His familiarity with the organization and experience at the point guard position should provide valuable depth behind the Spurs’ backcourt heading into the 2026-27 season.
