Korea's FC Seoul
Soccer in South Korea has been back in action since May 8, and the country’s top team, FC Seoul, hosted their first home game since the season has restarted. Although no fans were permitted into the match, the club came up with an interesting workaround to this
During FC Seoul’s 1-0 win over Gwangju FC on Sunday, the team had mannequins placed at an appropriate distance apart, wearing masks and holding signs, acting as if they were fans. During the match however, social media in South Korea remarked that the mannequins were actually sex dolls.
The club came out and said that there was a misunderstanding with the manufacture of the dolls, and that they were not intended for adult use. In a statement the club released on social media, they apologized for what transpired. “We would like to apologize to the fans. … Our intention was to do something lighthearted in these difficult times. We will think hard about what we need to do to ensure that something like this never happens again.”
