Shohei Ohtani’s Wife Reacts To ‘We Don’t Need Him’ Chant

Shohei Ohtani’s wife, Mamiko Tanaka, surprised baseball fans with her reaction to the chants that the Toronto Blue Jays were shouting at her husband during the World Series.

The chants began in Game 1 of the World Series, when the Blue Jays faced the Dodgers.

Ohtani was serenaded with “We don’t need you!” while he was at bat during Game 1.

When Ohtani was asked about the chants, he mentioned what his wife thought about them.

“It was a really great chant, and my wife really appreciated it,” Ohtani said through the team interpreter, Will Ireton.

The stadiums buzzed with this chant throughout the postseason and during Game 1 of the World Series.

Blue Jays manager John Schneider discussed the chant during the postgame press conference.

“Kind of heard it, but it’s tough to talk about a player like that, to be honest with you,” Schneider said.
