Scoot Henderson Scores Third-Highest Mark Of Career In Game 2 Win Over Spurs

Scoot Henderson scored 31 points in the Portland Trail Blazers win over the San Antonio Spurs.

The Trail Blazers defeated the Spurs 106-103. This tied their playoff series at one win for each team.

Thirty-one points is the third-highest scoring total of Henderson’s career. His career high was 39 points in a loss to the Brooklyn Nets.

However, this performance meant a little more. First, it was in a playoff game. Second, it was against his fellow 2023 NBA Draft selection Victor Wembanyama.

Henderson was considered one of the top draft prospects in 2023. However, he’s failed to live up to expectations so far. His average is 13.5 points per game, far below Wembanyama (23.4) and Brandon Miller (19).

Henderson scored 19 points in Game 1. So far, he’s started to live up to his expectations under the brightest lights.

Deni Avdija struggled in Game 2 with just 14 points on five of 13 shooting. Despite this, Henderson’s scoring burst helped the Trail Blazers get the victory. Center Robert Williams III also played a major role off the bench with 11 points and nine rebounds.

Wembanyama left the game after just 11 minutes due to a concussion. The 2023 draftmates didn’t get to share the court for long. Dylan Harper (10 points) and Luke Kornet (nine rebounds) helped keep the Spurs in the game.

Henderson has been trending upward as the season has gone on. He suffered a torn left hamstring in September 2025. He didn’t make his season debut until February. In February, he averaged 13 points per game. Meanwhile, he’s averaging 16.8 points per game in April, including the play-in and playoff games.

The next game of the series will be on April 24. The next two games of the series will be at the Moda Center in Portland.
