When Laila Ali talked to TMZ Sports about Ronda Rousey, she probably did not think the video would go viral.
“I am not a UFC fighter and she’s not a boxer,” said Laila when asked about Rousey. “And no woman could beat me period. No woman. No woman. Period. She’s too much smaller than me anyway. She’s like the size of my daughter — my three-year-old.”
Laila Ali had a fantastic boxing career that spanned nearly a decade. The 37-year-old went 24-0 in her career, with 21 knockouts. She basically retired on top in 2007.

Now, after the TMZ Sports video went viral, The Daily Beast asked Ronda about the comments. And Rousey, like always, was very frank on the matter.
“If she wants to take me up on that, I’m around,” Rousey said about Ali. “She’s retired and has several kids. I understand why she’d think that because she has a size advantage, but if you saw my last fight it had nothing to do with size or strength at all. That’s not how I beat people. So you can’t count having a size and strength advantage as having a real advantage against me.”
The fight Ronda mentioned was her last bout with Cat Zingano. Despite being a hard hitting fighter, Rousey handled Cat with ease: tapping her out within 14 seconds of the first round.
