Following UFC 193, two of the sports most exciting fighters will be sidelined for up to six months.
Both former bantamweight champ Ronda Rousey and strawweight champion Joanna Jedrzejczyk were handed six-month medical suspensions by the UFC. Normally suspensions are issued privately by state athletic commissions, but the lack of such a commission in Australia caused the UFC to handle matters on their own and release news of the suspensions to mixedmartialarts.com.
Rousey is suspended for 180 days unless a CT scan of her head reveals there is no damage from her loss to Holly Holm . She also cannot fight for 60 days and is banned from contact for 30.

Jedrzejczyk’s suspension for a possibly broken hand has similar terms. She is banned for 180 days unless an orthopedist clears her and an X-Ray shows no damage. She cannot fight for 45 days or have contact training for the 30 days.
