Houston Rockets forward Terrence Jones, 24, remained at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center on Thursday for continued evaluation just one day after his car accident Wednesday afternoon. He was on his way to the airport when the accident happened. Jones displayed no initial signs of injuries, so the Rockets considered him day-to-day.
“He said he was in pain, but doing ok,” Rockets coach J.B. Bickerstaff said. “It’s just a matter of how he feels. We’re not going to rush him back. Last night, he said he was in some pain, but he didn’t feel like it was anything serious. It’s just a matter of how long the pain persists.”
So far this season, Jones has averaged 9.3 points and 4.5 rebounds in 45 games. He will miss Thursday night’s game at Phoenix against the Suns. This will be the seventh game Jones misses this season. He missed five games due to a right eye laceration in November and another game in late December because of an illness.
