Watch: Rob Gronkowsi Steals, Runs Off With Tom Brady’s Super Bowl LI Jersey On Opening Day

The New England Patriots attended the Boston Red Sox’s Opening Day game at Fenway Park on Monday, and Tom Brady presented his recently-recovered Super Bowl LI jersey to 37,000 fans.

Rob Gronkowski Steals Brady’s Super bowl Jersey at Fenway Park

Brady, who got the jersey, as well as his Super Bowl XLIX jersey, back from Patriots owner Robert Kraft earlier Monday, only managed to hold up the $500,000 shirt for a few seconds, as teammate Rob Gronkowski snatched the jersey right from the quarterback’s hands and ran off with it into the infield. Brady then playfully tackled him moments later in right field.

Gronkowski, who injured his back late last year and thus missed the rest of the season, looks completely recovered. The tight end made a special appearance at WrestleMania 33 this past weekend.

The Patriots brought all five Super Bowl trophies out for the first pitch ceremony at Fenway before the Red Sox hosted the Pittsburgh Pirates. Joining Brady, Gronk and Kraft were James White, who scored the winning touchdown in overtime, and fellow running back Dion Lewis. The Red Sox beat the Pirates 5-3, and will play again in Boston on Wednesday.

Brady, who will be 40 in August and recently said he plans to play in the NFL for six or seven more years, tossed out the first pitch to the Red Sox’s Dustin Pedroia.

The quarterback’s jersey from the Super Bowl win in Houston in February was discovered in Mexico by local authorities while searching the property of media executive Martin Mauricio Ortega, head of one of Mexico’s largest news outlets. Authorities also retrieved Brady’s jersey from the 2015 Super Bowl.

Ortega has not been charged. Houston police and the FBI assisted in the investigation, for which Kraft thanked them.

Fun fact: here are all the major pro sports championships (ten) Boston teams have won since 2000:

» Patriots: 2001, 2003, 2004, 2014, 2016

» Red Sox: 2004, 2007, 2013

» Bruins: 2011

» Celtics: 2008
